Beautiful Downeast Maine Family Lakeside Rental!

  • Family focused lakeside rental on Gardner Lake in East Machias, ME! Sleeps 13, with living, sitting, and kids rooms! The kitchen is well equipped with all the cooking essentials so you can cook just like you would at home. A coffee bar in the dining room includes a traditional drip coffee pot, a Keurig machine, and an espresso machine. There is a large wrap around deck with grilling and plenty of seating to relax and overlook the lake. Outside games are available, including cornhole, and a fire pit with wood and starter supplies are provided. Property is lakefront on a shallow cove and several adult and child kayaks are available. Town boat landing and swimming is 1.5 miles away on Chase Mills Road. Sunrise Trail is less than 2.5 miles away. Great central location for Downeast Maine activities, roughly 35 minutes to Quoddy Head Lighthouse and State Park, 25 minutes to the Roque Bluffs State Park and Beach, 20 minutes to Jasper Beach, 40 minutes to Campobello Island, and 55 minutes to the St. Stephen Border Crossing.

Beautiful home in a picturesque environment. Lovely welcome gift with Maine made items. Extraordinary coffee bar that provided an assortment of tea,cocoa and multiple coffee options. It was a very cold and snowy weekend and these amenities took it to another level.

Wonderful stay

The house was exactly as described, clean, and well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the wildlife in the lake. Excellent place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. We enjoyed the many state parks that are about a 30 minute drive from the house.

Home away from home

Excellent stay. Ample space, nicely decorated, well-equipped kitchen, bath, and laundry. Very clean. The hosts were very nice!

Lucas’s home was perfect for our 3 generation family vacation. We felt at home from the moment we arrived and it had everything we needed for our stay. Our group of 11 adults had plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed the porch immensely. The home was located within reasonable driving distance to many great locations for hiking, whale watching, and dining. We are most meals at the house and it had everything we needed to prepare and serve our food.

This place was perfect. That porch over looking the lake and the stars. Lots of wildlife to see. The house is perfect, stocked with all the essentials and more then I’ve ever had in a vrbo stay. The cabin is far enough away to be quiet, but close to all the essentials. I’ve been to Machias area a million times, this was the best visit yet. I’ve already booked my week for next year. Next year Im hoping to see a moose.

This was a great home and location for our first visit to Maine. Easy drive to Lubec, Calais, Eastport, Machiasport and many other locations. As wonderful as the photos and description may be, it is actually better! Lots of attention to the small things that make traveling easier. And as many others have said, sitting on the porch was very relaxing. Communication with Lucas was easy and prompt and without a doubt I would stay here again and highly recommend.

Another great time!

This was my third time renting this property. This time my daughter and her family joined me. It was a great chance to hike and get out on the water in the kayaks provided. S'mores around the campfire at night and coffee on the covered porch in the morning were wonderful experiences. We look forward to returning.

Long weekend

My extended family stayed for three nights. We all enjoyed the house; the youngest was 20 and the oldest was 88. There was enough room for us to spread out, and the property was equipped with all the comforts that we needed. It was just what we needed.

Family summer vacation

The home was spacious and perfect for our family of teenage & young adult kids! Plenty of space to spread out or gather together. The porch was a treat! The kids (age 13-25) even had an epic game of hide and seek in the house one evening.

Work Trip / Family Vacation

My husband had to work in Machias, so we had the opportunity to stay in this spacious house with our four kids. Although the weather wasn't ideal, we hardly noticed because the house was filled with an abundance of games, puzzles, and movies! We had a blast the entire time we were there. I also appreciated the decor and especially loved the cozy quiet spots where I could escape with a good book.

Lovely Lake Getaway

The house was exactly as shown and is gigantic. There were just two of us but it would be perfect for a party of 10 or more. The deck was lovely to sit out on in the morning and evening as it had a serene lake view. The home had everything you could want from pots and pans, kayaks, games and a lovely welcome gift. It's a close drive to a few restaurants and shops which we frequented each evening.We would absolutely stay here again and the hosts were a delight, too.

Fantastic Stay

Beautiful spacious house! Location was amazing. Sits right on the lake. Kayaking was a huge hit. Plenty to do for all the kids ages 0 -13. 13 of us stayed here to visit family in Machiasport. It was perfect. Thank you!

I basically lived here for 3 months and didn’t want to leave. This property is amazing and has everything you would ever need. The owners are amazing as the house, I highly recommend this property!!!

Maine Wedding

Had a wonderful time! The house was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of space as well as quiet. My 8 year old niece loves the toys in the play room which was a plus and although we didn’t get to use them, having the kayaks were and awesome extra! The personalized sign and the bag of goodies was a wonderful surprise. Would definitely stay here again!

Even Moose drawn to Gardner Lake

Imagine our amazement when a moose walked by along the shore of Gardner Lake one afternoon! This was our second visit to this wonderful home and it continues to deliver comfort, cleanliness, and a beautiful view from sunrise to sunset.

Lovely lakeside house

House is beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of space for kids to play and adults to get away from the kids 😊. Kitchen well stocked. Lake is quiet. Lots of activities in the area that we enjoyed such as hiking and boating. Went to St Andrew’s in Canada for whale watching. Had a wonderful week and hope to go back some day.

Awesome home!

Everything was just perfect! Home Is very clean and had enough space for all of us. Covered porch was a hit. Only disappointment was not seeing the moose!!
