Wonderful stay in the Catskill Mountains

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. We took advantage of most of the amenities - hot tub, fire pit, big deck, great gas grill, 2 refrigerators. We had a few things we couldn't figure out and the owners responded promptly and came to the house a few times to resolve things. We had some packages shipped that arrived before us, and they kept them secure for us. We asked for a late checkout and they accommodated. We had a really amazing week of hiking with friends, and this house was well situated a launch location. The lake is a bit farther away than we realized, but our trip was mostly hiking focused. Strongly recommend hiking in the Catskills and staying at this home.

A perfect stay in an amazing location

My group of 10 stayed for a weekend, and it really was the perfect getaway. The house has wonderful gathering areas (on two levels), and the surrounding greenery really removes the rest of the world from view. Wraparound porches (front and back) provide great comfortable outdoor space. Lots of other small touches (firepit, hot tub, grill, long dining table) really make the place feel like a home. Thanks to JoAnn and Scott for the great stay. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome cabin on a great property

I stayed here with some friends and the house was really great. There was lots of room for all of us to hang out and enjoy our weekend. The area is also really great with easy access to the lake and several great hikes in the nearby state park. The highlight of the house is the 8 foot tall stuffed bear, definitely a conversation starter

Comfortable and very well equipped!

My family stayed here Presidents weekend with three other families (total of 15) and there was plenty of space for everyone. We loved that the kitchen was well equipped for the large family style gourmet meals. The beds were all very comfortable, and with each bedroom having their own thermostat, everyone slept very comfortably. It was a great ski vacation! Thank you JoAnn!

A worry-free weekend in an awesome house!

I booked the Colgate Lake Lodge for two nights to celebrate my 30th birthday with some friends and the place met and exceeded all of our expectations. The owner was available and responsive by phone and e-mail and made sure all of my questions were answered and that we were comfortable. The house was clean and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. There is lots of open space to gather and hang out throughout the house, both upstairs with the gas fireplace, gigantic stuffed GRIZZLY BEAR (!!), and dining table, as well as downstairs, where the pool table are bar are located. I spent lots of time over the grill on the back porch and was pleased to find that it was hooked up to a gas line (no running out of propane here!), and that grilling tools were available and stored nearby. The brand new hot tub out back didn't hurt either. With Hunter Mountain and Tannersville so close by, we never had to travel very far when we left the house (not that we wanted to!). I will definitely be interested in booking the Colgate Lake Lodge again in the future.

Cozy winter vacation

We rented this home for a family holiday in the mountains. The inside was spacious enough to fit multiple families with kids. The open floor plan in the kitch/dining room and living room allowed for the family to stay together before, during and after meals. The downstairs was a great space for our children to play safely ( and stay out of our hair!) . But the real gem was the outside. The property is set up off the road and there is so much space for fun and exploration. Our highlight was finding a perfect sleigh ride trail along the side of the house. It was so good we really didn't need to leave to go snow tubing. Our family had a great winter holiday at the house, so much so that we are now considering renting it during the summer!

Amazing Time!

We had an amazing time! Our extended family of 12 stayed with plenty of room! The house was spotless and had every amenity, including a pool table, bar, and Tv's. Also, Included individual heat in each room, which may not seem like a big benefit, but for my wife and I, it helps with sleeping when you have other people that may be too cold or hot. It was very close to Hunter and Windham and we look forward to visiting again next year! Thank you JoAnn!! 1

Amazing Home - Great Ski Vacation

We had a large group of 14 for a long weekend getaway and can't say enough nice things about this house. When we walked in we were greeted with music and a lovely bottle of wine so we felt right at home. Everything in the house was immaculate. The great room/dining room/kitchen was nice and open making it easy for everyone to converse while relaxing. All of the bedrooms were very clean and each room had it's own thermostat so that was a nice added bonus. Everyone in our party had a place to sleep so the house is certainly able to accommodate a larger crowd. There were also plenty of towels and linens to go around. The basement is also very nice with a pool table, large couch, tv, and 2nd kitchen. It was nice to have some additional refrigerator/freezer space in the basement. Overall, we had a wonderful time and JoAnn was very helpful throughout the process and made sure everything was perfect during our stay. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful Home, Amazing Owner!

Let me first start off talking about the house. This place is flat out AMAZING! Our group of 14 came here for a weekend trip to Hunter Mountain (~10 mins away) and everyone was in awe of the decor, quality of the rooms, and the kitchen. This place has everything, and the pictures are very accurate. All of the furniture is in new condition and the kitchen is extremely well stocked (we had a professional chef in our group and he was very happy). The basement is completely finished with a pool table and just a great place to lounge. Also, the house has great insulation (we came in late-Jan) and water pressure throughout. We are definitely planning on coming back to this home again. Everything is accurately described in the posting. I could not have asked for more. Secondly, let me quickly talk about the owners. JoAnn is one of the best owners I've ever dealt with in renting a home (I've rented many houses / lodges over the years). She is very responsive and had everything down to a T in preparing the home for us. You can also tell that JoAnn & Scott invested a ton of money into this house. They manage several other properties in the surrounding areas, which makes her service that much more impressive. I highly encourage prospective renters to select the Colgate Lake Lodge. You will look smart and will not be disappointed ;) Thanks again, JoAnn!

Wonderful New Year's vacation!

I can't say enough about this beautiful home in the heart of the Catskills! We celebrated New Year's Eve with a group of friends and our small children and everyone was very pleased with the amenities and everything this charming cabin has to offer! We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and holiday music playing on the satellite radio, the house was beautifully decorated, clean and charming. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean, the kitchen well stocked, the play room provides lots of entertainment for the entire family. The owners are very hospitable, easy to work with and happy to please. We received our deposit within 2 days of departure. Overall, we couldn't have been happier and can't wait to return!!

Beautiful home in Catskills

My family had a wonderful time at this new and perfectly situated home. We were lucky to find it still available. There were 12 of us and we fit comfortably in the home. Everything was new and clean with sheets and towels included it made our stay very relaxed and comfortable. The owners were friendly and called us the day we arrived to make sure everything was okay so we felt well taken care of. Would highly recommend this home for a wintery get away and would stay again. Clean, Charming, Cozy, and full of Character

This is our 2nd stay at one of JoAnn's rentals and we were not disappointed once again. This house was perfect for my family weekend retreat. It was warm and inviting and very clean. The beds were comfy and smelled like fresh linens. We very much enjoyed sitting by the gas fireplace and cozying up on the comfy leather couch. We loved all of the unique characteristics of the house like the giant 8' bear which we could not stop joking about, it was a great conversation starter and our 2 year old daughter really liked it too! The layout of the house was perfect for entertaining with its open concept and very large, high-end picnic table in the dining room with plenty of seating for guests. October was a great time to go. Hunter mountain (a very short car ride) was holding a October festival and the area was speckled with other fall activities. Not to mention the leaves were gorgeous! The property also has many apple trees which walking around and picking them was one of the highlights of our trip. This will not be the last time I stay at JoAnn's rental homes. She has many of them right in the area and they all have their own unique elements and style. We can't wait till the next stay and highly recommend this rental home!
