Totally amazing place. I could not have asked for a better family vacation. Great fishing, games inside and out, close to town. House was more than I could have asked for. Owners are doing an amazing job.

awesome! swimming with the grand kids, the lily pad was a hit.. the big bass on the line was exciting for the 7 yr old. watching an eagle grab a fish and feed on the shore was great. feeding a worm to a turtle. deer on the shore line. boat rides around the lake. despicable me 4times. dinner at Lumpy's. shopping in town. I would say we a very good time

Annual family vacation

We loved the property. The lake is clear an shallow enough for younger children to play in the water. The sandy area and fire pit were wonderful to use. The home was so well stocked and Sandy was so responsive to my questions. Would stay here again.

Stunning Views & Amazing Hosts

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Northern House! The house was clean, inviting and had so many amenities. This property offers a private dock on the lake, paddle boards, kayaks and a small boat that we used for fishing. It may have just been the time of year we visited but the lake was quiet and not super busy during our stay. The weather was amazing during our stay so we were able to thoroughly enjoy the outdoors. We had rain one day but the house was equipped with several games that our family enjoyed. We have rented many homes and found this house to be one of the best equipped homes that we have stayed in. The owners even had a small container of travel sized personal items to share (disposable razors, lotion, sunscreen, etc) in case we had forgotten anything. We had to reach out to the host one time during our stay and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend renting this home if you are considering it.And…. The sunsets. Just beautiful!

Great experience

Extremely well stocked property, very impressed! House was also very clean and tidy. Great water toys (kayaks, paddle boards, etc) for all the kids. Only downside is proximity to the resort next door and Meta Lake Rd has a fair amount of traffic so not as quiet and secluded as other spots we've rented in Eagle River. But we all had a great time at this nice property, felt very much like a nice, warm home than a "rental." Thanks!

Fall Break

My mom, two daughters and I had a great time at Northern House! The house was immaculate and the welcome package of snacks, cold waters in the fridge and ice cold mugs was fantastic. The kids loved the arcade area and playing board games on the gorgeous kitchen table! The kitchen and bathrooms were well appointed and nothing was missed. We watched 2-3 deer twice a day cross right in front of the large picture window in the living room. I had hoped that the kayaks and paddle boards would still be out, but understood given the cold night temperatures. Sunsets and stars were amazing over Meta lake. Would love to come back late summer and fully experience all Meta Lake and Eagle River has to offer!

Family wedding

The pictures didn’t do this listing justice. This is an older home which has been wonderfully updated. We travel a good deal and this is by far the most well-stocked home I’ve rented. They’ve thought of everything including some things I hadn’t thought of until I found them. The fishing boat WITH a motor WITH a full tank of gas was beyond expectation.

Great Lake house weekend!

We have stayed at several lake houses over the years and this was the best! The house was in a beautiful location under tall red and white pines and it was well furnished and spacious for our three generation group. The dining table was absolutely beautiful and large enough for everyone. The water toys were ample and varied and were used everyday. The lights on the trees created a magical atmosphere at night! Hosts Sandy and Nick communicated well with us and accommodated our requests. And since the weather also cooperated we had the best lakehouse vacation ever!

Wonderful family getaway

We enjoyed our stay! The house was perfect for our family. It had great amenities! We loved the outdoor space, especially the view from the pier and the fire pit. Our kids had fun swimming in the lake and fishing off the pier. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Amazing stay in Eagle River

One of the best places we have rented in northern Wisconsin!! Our family of 8 spent a week at the Northern house and all had a great time. The extras were so thoughtful and really made the difference. The kids loved the splash pad and kayaks. The house was clean and very well stocked. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions or inquiries. Definitely booking again for next year!!

Nature's way of saying welcome :)

The place is everything you could think of. It is surrounded by beaitiful surroundings consisting mesmerizing morning with the sound and view of nature and it's partners ( birds, lake, trees,wind, sun) to an amazing peaceful night full of wind, trees, water and fire and the moon and the house itself is a tip of an iceberg. Kayaks, boats, Lilly pad etc are the addons we get with the property and its a huge bonus. The personal touch of cold beer mugs and snacks touched our hearts. Hosts were so quick to respond in every question we have.the house is full of everything u can just go and stay there. Will definitely plan to visit in future soon.

July 4th Trip

The house was wonderful. The property had everything you could want or need. The kitchen was great for cooking and the grill and blacktop were great bonuses. The bedrooms and game room where great. The outside fire pit and dock where very fun and great for kids. The only thing we didn't like was the living room could use a curtain in the window facing the road and the resort guests keep coming on our dock and fire pit. Otherwise this was a fantastic trip and the goodie tray when you get there was the best.

Beautiful property!

The Northern House and property were everything we hoped for! Clean, comfortable, well maintained and organized with beautiful lakefront and beach including a good variety of watercraft and life vests of all sizes. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for meal prep, tableware and more! There’s a game room indoors as well as yard games to enjoy in great space outdoors. Our family enjoyed swimming and fishing right at the property beachfront which is a big plus! We also appreciated the great communication with Sandy and Nick. We’ll be back!

Wonderful stay!

The property was a lovely place to spend time with friends! Things like mugs pre chilled in the freezer, snacks upon arrival, and water bottles in the fridge make this place feel extra special! We had 10 people and there was plenty of room for all of us. The outside patio was very nice and had room for all of us to enjoy. We loved the kayaks, paddle boards, and the lily pad that was available to us! I would highly recommend to others.

Family relaxation!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Beautiful home right on the lake! They had everything we needed and more! Great for all ages, definitely what the soul needed! Fishing, campfires, kayaking, atv/bike rides and it’s not too far from downtown Eagle River!They anlso had a bonus game room in the basement, a definite hit! Our family will definitely be back!

Fantastic Northwoods get a way

This was our first VRBO stay and it was a game changer. Our group enjoyed the great kitchen layout to cook meals and visit at the gorgeous kitchen table. Kids loved the outdoor space and amenities in the garage to play. Rooms were spacious and kids woke up saying it was their best sleep ever. The ability to visit with friends and our kids in a comfortable home setting ceated an atmosphere for a weekend we will all talk about for years to come. Thank you for having us.

Fantastic Family Getaway

Perfectly accommodated our extended family of 12. Enough space to move about the house. Spacious back yard to toss the football and play yard darts. Even caught a few fish on late season ice. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating.

2nd Time Just as Good as the 1st

Sandy and Nick are wonderful hosts who are willing to go above and beyond for their guests. They communicate openly about amenities that may not be available before your stay and work towards fixing them so that they are available during your stay. The property was clean, and it was nice to see how they have improved the property from our previous stay over 2 years ago. Overall, Sandy and Nick's Northern House will be a place that my group will put as top-of-the-list for future Eagle River adventures.
