The house was exactly as explained. It was very well stocked with everything. Welcoming smores, chips, and snacks. The property was very well maintained. Beautiful secluded lake with a wonderful view. We highly recommend this place and look forward to returning.

This is an amazing place to stay. The hosts have paid incredible attention to detail, having everything you could ever need and more for everyone. We were traveling with adults and children ages 1-12. There were plenty of supplies, the home was incredibly spotless, and there was so much to do in and out. The lake in the backyard was beautiful and easily enjoyed with the kayaks and other water equipment available. The game room in the basement was the perfect place for the kids to get up and play in the morning to allow the adults to get a little extra rest. The welcome basket with snacks was unexpected and so appreciated. The ease of communication was fantastic. We could not recommend this property highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We hope to visit your home again in the future!

Our second stay at this fabulous house! Perfect for seven people since it had four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The beach and beach toys kept everyone busy. Kitchen and dining area were practical and well designed. The kids did not want to leave!

awesome! swimming with the grand kids, the lily pad was a hit.. the big bass on the line was exciting for the 7 yr old. watching an eagle grab a fish and feed on the shore was great. feeding a worm to a turtle. deer on the shore line. boat rides around the lake. despicable me 4times. dinner at Lumpy's. shopping in town. I would say we a very good time

Annual family vacation

We loved the property. The lake is clear an shallow enough for younger children to play in the water. The sandy area and fire pit were wonderful to use. The home was so well stocked and Sandy was so responsive to my questions. Would stay here again.

Stunning Views & Amazing Hosts

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Northern House! The house was clean, inviting and had so many amenities. This property offers a private dock on the lake, paddle boards, kayaks and a small boat that we used for fishing. It may have just been the time of year we visited but the lake was quiet and not super busy during our stay. The weather was amazing during our stay so we were able to thoroughly enjoy the outdoors. We had rain one day but the house was equipped with several games that our family enjoyed. We have rented many homes and found this house to be one of the best equipped homes that we have stayed in. The owners even had a small container of travel sized personal items to share (disposable razors, lotion, sunscreen, etc) in case we had forgotten anything. We had to reach out to the host one time during our stay and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend renting this home if you are considering it.And…. The sunsets. Just beautiful!

Great experience

Extremely well stocked property, very impressed! House was also very clean and tidy. Great water toys (kayaks, paddle boards, etc) for all the kids. Only downside is proximity to the resort next door and Meta Lake Rd has a fair amount of traffic so not as quiet and secluded as other spots we've rented in Eagle River. But we all had a great time at this nice property, felt very much like a nice, warm home than a "rental." Thanks!

Fall Break

My mom, two daughters and I had a great time at Northern House! The house was immaculate and the welcome package of snacks, cold waters in the fridge and ice cold mugs was fantastic. The kids loved the arcade area and playing board games on the gorgeous kitchen table! The kitchen and bathrooms were well appointed and nothing was missed. We watched 2-3 deer twice a day cross right in front of the large picture window in the living room. I had hoped that the kayaks and paddle boards would still be out, but understood given the cold night temperatures. Sunsets and stars were amazing over Meta lake. Would love to come back late summer and fully experience all Meta Lake and Eagle River has to offer!

Family wedding

The pictures didn’t do this listing justice. This is an older home which has been wonderfully updated. We travel a good deal and this is by far the most well-stocked home I’ve rented. They’ve thought of everything including some things I hadn’t thought of until I found them. The fishing boat WITH a motor WITH a full tank of gas was beyond expectation.

Great Lake house weekend!

We have stayed at several lake houses over the years and this was the best! The house was in a beautiful location under tall red and white pines and it was well furnished and spacious for our three generation group. The dining table was absolutely beautiful and large enough for everyone. The water toys were ample and varied and were used everyday. The lights on the trees created a magical atmosphere at night! Hosts Sandy and Nick communicated well with us and accommodated our requests. And since the weather also cooperated we had the best lakehouse vacation ever!
