Very warm and friendly owners. Lovely greeting which made us feel very welcome. Great location and lovely views. Very comfortable beds and had a great night's sleep. Great base for exploring Akaroa. Thoroughly recommend

Great location, spacious rooms and friendly staff. Would have been nice to have more cooking appliances, but we used the shared BBQ. Still a very nice stay. Thank you

Motel with a great view
We really enjoyed our stay. Our room had a nice view, the bathroom was new and everthing was very clean. We had a great time and would definately come back.

The motel seems to be organized for summer not winter, and we've stayed there in summer and enjoyed it. But in winter it is very cold, with inadequate heating and poor light. By modern standards it's not a good experience.

Such a beautiful location to stay. I had a stunning view looking out over the water. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The apartment was a very good size, clean and very comfortable. The area was quiet and had lovely walks on the doorstep. The only downside is I only had one night here - would highly recommend. Everything was excellent.

The place is ok, however what let’s this down is the fact there is no air conditioning and in 2023 I think this is unacceptable. It was a very hot day/night and had the worst sleep as was so incredibly hot in that room. Even with all the doors and windows open still unbearably hot. Also there’s no fan only a little heater fan which u can use on fan only mode. This fan does NOTHING. If the place had a AIR-con it would have been great but this was a big let down! DON’T book here if it’s going to be hot.

Relaxing stay at Duchauville (Akaroa).
The property was about a 10 min drive to the township of Akaroa. There was a pub that served meals next door as well as a General Store less than a 5 min walk. The owners were very generous in loaning us an electric fry pan which was really useful for our breakfasts during our 5 nights stay. We had previously been to Akaroa and loved the whole area and wanted a relaxing stay which this property provided. All units/rooms have uninterrupted views of the hills and seaside bay of Duchauville which is very peaceful and relaxing to return "home" to. Each morning we walked around the bay which we probably would not have done if we had stayed in the town centre. The couple who operate the facility were always on-site and were very obliging and pleasant to talk to. For the cost of this facility, we believe it represents outstanding value. We would certainly consider returning to this property in the future.

Great location for a quite overnight stay with the children. Handy to Akaroa and awesome view. Awesome hosts, even kind enough to let us stay until the roads open after a late winter snow fall.

Although the property was water front, seaside might be a little misleading for families as no sandy beach or suitable for swimming.

The view was spectacular and the room was very neat and tidy. Very beautiful, calming and serene place to spend holidays at. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastisk udsigt. Pænt indrettet lejlighed. Dog lidt for trang til 3 voksne. Sovesofaen i stuen er ikke særlig behagelig at sove på og der er ingen plads til at placere kufferterne, hverken i soveværelset eller i stuen, udover på gulvet. Vi er lidt for gamle til at rode rundt på gulvet 😊.

Lovely seaside views. Bedroom quite small and think direction of bed would be better facing the sea view. Also paint and repairs to wall a bit rough which detracts from the unit. Suggest a resand re-stop and paint to give a better impression. These small details are important.

目の前に海が広がる部屋
アカロアの町から車で15分くらいで少し離れているが、その分周りに何もなく、海が目の前でとてものんびりできるところであった。隣のパブは近くの人の集まる場所のようでビールがおいしかった。

The host is very nice and friendly. And what a view! The hotel is located just steps from the beach. It's quiet and serene. I come here to spend time in Akaroa, which is the main town nearby. Did not regret my choice not to stay in main town. This little village is the perfect retreat for my family and I. Cheers!
