Great getaway for the whole fam!

We stayed here for our wedding with all our family and really enjoyed this property. It was big enough for all of us and we even got to see some wildlife!! Great communication with the owners and easy/enjoyable/quite stay!

The rooms are spacious and cozy. There are multiple decks to enjoy the stunning view. The location is perfect, as it is in between Durango and Silverton! The customer service was outstanding! This was our favorite family vacation location so far!

Perfect Ski Week

The location of the beautiful house was perfect for skiing (less than a mile from the ski resort) and close to snowmobiling and hot springs resorts and a short drive to Durango for groceries. The property management company was quick to respond with the few requests we had. Enjoyed The Nugget Bar which was right down the street and pizza from Olde Schoolhouse. Would recommend this property to all!

This home was the perfect place for our family to gather for a winter wonderland vacation. We found the home to be spacious, well stocked, and very cozy, with plenty of windows to watch, as the snow just kept coming. Durango is charming, and the skiing was fabulous... even for a few of us beginners. We cannot wait to visit again!!

Wonderful house!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was lovely! We had 14 people and it accommodated us very well. A separate apartment with 2 bedrooms, a living area and a kitchen were great for my son and DIL and their 3 little kids. Everybody else was on the 2nd and 3rd stories. Lots of outside seating with a gorgeous view of Columbine Lake. The kitchen was very well stocked. I wanted to cook for all my people and took a hand mixer and small food processor, but they had everything! We would definitely rent this house again if we returned to that area.

Inside fine/outside construction zone

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The inside of the house was nice and spacious. Outside seem to be a construction zone. There was a piece of machinery and what seemed to be an unfinished front entrance when we arrived. In addition, the sewage pit was uncovered with an associated odor. This meant that we couldn’t open the windows in our bedroom, which faced the sewage pit, because the smell would come into the house. As the inside met the needs of our large group we just kept the windows closed. Toward the end of the trip when I mentioned to vacation Rental collective the sewage smell and unfinished construction, they were very nice but seemed surprised. They said they would talk to the owners. This made me feel like nobody had checked in on the house they were renting to us before we got there, or all of this would’ve been quite obvious to them

(We could of had even more friends to come and enjoy!) Sitting outside on one of the many porches gave us a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains. The house was in a perfect location to go and see many sites and do many activities. We hated to leave!!

You can trust what you see on the VRC website. The house and the location are exactly what you see and more. The house was very clean and it had everything we needed for our stay. Let me say, the view of the mountains are just Fantastic. The location made it so easy to get around to everything from shopping and all the fun things the area offers. There is something all ages. We found our day trips to Mesa Verde, Chimney Rock, Canyon of the Ancients and the Durango /Silverton Train easy to get to. We are planning to go back and bring more of the family. It is worth an encore. Again, just wonderful!

A wonderful week in Durango

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, the property was beautiful inside and out! The home truly felt like home. The views from the deck were beautiful with the lake below and the mountains in the distance. Watching the sunrise each morning was a must. The bedrooms were just so peaceful. The beds were comfortable and the bedding a good quality. I especially enjoyed watching the sunrise from the master bed on the mornings I didn’t make it down to the deck for a cup of coffee first! I also liked the private deck off the master bedroom. A perfect place for a quiet time. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. A drawer of spices in addition to a good amount of other baking needs. Plus the little things like foils and wraps and baggies. Well done!And then there is the location. Easy to get to from the main road into Durango and just down the road from the Purgatory Ski Resort. We found plenty to do! The ski resort has fun summer activities- scenic chair lift rides, alpine slides, and a roller coaster. Horseback riding just down the road, razor rentals in Silverton, plus live music and FANTASTIC food at the James Ranch. Of course great hikes all around and ALWAYS shopping in Durango. With all of the positives I mentioned above, I still haven’t mentioned one of the biggest - the weather! Coming from the South in July to a beautiful home with amazing views AND cool mornings and evenings AND low humidity is just a dream come true. I didn’t want to leave. The staff at VRC was fantastic to work with. They were very quick to respond to my messages and very friendly when I spoke to them. I would recommend VRC and most definitely, this lovely home when planning your next vacation.
