Christmas 23
Great Property other than a couple of issues. The fireplace does not operate properly. Saw that posted from an earlier guest so called the property manager to confirm that the issue had been addressed and was told that it had. It absolutely was not. Had the same problem with them oven.

We have addressed both the fireplace and the oven and these items are working properly. If you had issues during your stay we should have been notified so we could have helped you figure out what was going on.

Almost Perfect ****
The location is everything they claim. Nestling on the porch by the river was pure heaven. We were there the first week in Oct., and the Fall colors were on fiery display. I took over 500 photographs! The highlight for everyone was the Durango-Silverton steam locomotive ride. Just spectacular. We suggest taking the bus back to Durango because 6+ hours on the train is a bit much. The cabin is just as shown in the photos: fantastic and gorgeous. Two non-functioning features of the cabin keep it from getting 5 *s on our trip. We were unable to use the fireplace due to a flue blockage. The owner discounted the rate somewhat, but that was still a big disappointment. Check on this before you book. A non-functioning oven was also disappointing, but we're told the owners have a new one on order. Oct 2-7, 2023

Thank you for your feedback. A new oven was purchased and installed in November. The fireplace is working.

SO peaceful, well-appointed & great for larger group
I've stayed at many VRBO's and this was probably my favorite! The home is conveniently located 20 mins out of Durango in a small, quiet neighborhood along the river. The house is oriented so that you cannot see other houses, and the rushing river creates an amazing, zen 24-hour white noise that is SO relaxing. High ceilings, tons of windows and simple, bright decor keep the interior light, bright, and airy. Highlights: 1. very well-stocked kitchen with utensils, dishes, staples 2. enough space for everyone gather in living/kitchen/porch area - but also to have privacy - four separate bedrooms plus a loft. 3. super easy cleaning & checkout procedure 4. huge back porch by the river for eating. lounging and gathering - simply amazing. Additionally, property mgrs were responsive and the home was very clean. For consideration: the rushing water is a risk for small children - this property might not be suitable for families with adventurous littles if you can't be sure you'll be watching them like a hawk. Everyone in our group was so happy with this property - I felt like such a hero for booking it :-)

Remote and relaxing
This property is lovely. It’s in somewhat of a neighborhood, but you wouldn’t know once you get to the house. It feels very secluded from anyone and it’s the perfect place to relax with family!

Escape the heat of summer
The river behind the house was absolutely wonderful! You could feel the cool air off the water. We enjoyed our stay in the house and all our needs were met. We felt like we were staying in a family home! The nights were cool, very chilly in the morning, which we loved! Thank you for sharing your house!

Perfect Getaway
Will be booking again! The outdoor space alone is worth it but the accommodations are equally wonderful! Location is amazing and while there are other houses around you don’t feel crowded. Being at the end of the road is great! Been to several VRBO’s but none with a pantry so we’ll stocked! The manager was very helpful. You can’t go wrong with this rental!

Beautiful spot on the river
We loved the cabin and the location! Great deck that faces the river and the living room has spectacular views. The bathroom floors needed more cleaning, but overall a great place! I would recommend it for sure!

November Celebration
Stayed the weekend before Thanksgiving to enjoy an early celebration. Always love spending time in this area outside Durango and this home was perfect for enjoying it all! Plenty of room for our family of nine for the three days. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty big. Family room allowed us to play charades all together. Everyone's bed was comfy and warm. No shoes policy allowed us to sport our holiday socks. There was a strong enough wifi connection for our daughter to submit her homework online (everyone else stayed off during that period). A little too cold to stay out on the beautiful deck, but still enjoyed the flowing river. Went to Vallecito Campground to hike around and saw amazing ice features that we'd never encountered before. A great time, in a great place. Thank you for sharing your home!

Friends Getaway

Great for families
This house was incredible! It only has 2 bathrooms, which is tough if several families are staying. But the sound of the river and being feet from the river make up for anything lacking. The scenery is just magnificent. The outdoor deck is awesome! Great place to stay!

Family wedding get away
We loved our stay at Riversong. It was a beautiful cabin and enough space for our family of 4 plus grandma, grandpa and aunt to join. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to the Florida. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin!

Peaceful and quiet in a beautiful location
We are a family of four with two teenagers and two dogs. The set up was perfect as were in Durango for A bike race. It was very clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with pantry staples and everything we needed for needed for cooking. Our only complaint was the TV…it needs to be replaced as it blanks out about every minute making it difficult to watch anything . The location on the river is fabulous if you want a private and serene setting. It’s about 20 minutes to town but it’s an easy drive.

Winter Durango Family Vacation
The cabin is a great distance from Durango and all the nearby sights. We visited downtown, the Mesa Verde National Park, and even the local ski hills. We enjoyed the views and secluded feeling of the cabin. The mountain air was frigid but nice. We had a marvelous time at the cabin, but DO NOT start a fire in the chimney. It is either not cleaned on the inside or the snow was covering the opening outside….. The snow removal could be improved, but it did snow constantly the time we were there. If you are a skier or if you want to start, we would suggest renting from ski barn and visiting Chaplin hill and Hesperus up the road. Other than those pointers, we enjoyed it and froze in the wonderful winter weather!

The property is in a small valley about 20 minutes from Durango on the Florida River with beautiful views. The house is comfortable and well equipped with plenty of room to relax and enjoy down time or family game night. Love the patio and fire pit!

Quiet Haven!
Beautiful property on the river! Just exactly what we needed to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We so enjoyed the local activities, but our very favorite times were when we sat in front of the fire pit or the wood-burning fireplace. It was magical! We definitely will return with family and friends! Comfortable and clean, spacious and fully stocked kitchen. We highly recommend!

Very Relaxing Place
We very much enjoyed our stay at this river side house. The house was clean, well kept, and had plenty of room for 6 adults and 1 child. The kitchen was well stocked, linens were clean, and instruction were very clear. This house was great for a relaxing getaway with beautiful scenery and sounds with the river so close. It was about a 20 minute drive to downtown Durango which is close enough to get into town quickly but far enough away to not feel so crowded. I would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful get away.
Beautiful place, it was so peaceful and relaxing. We loved falling asleep to river every evening. The home was clean and had everything we needed and to bring our pet was a nice bonus. We will be back.

A Slice of Heaven
We only spent 2 nights there, but that was not enough. My Husband and I fell in love with this place. This place is a Slice of Heaven and we enjoyed every minute. The stream outside was amazing and the property was very private. Would highly recommend if you need to just get away!!

Great house right on the river. Super convenient for our party of three families and our daughter lives just down the street. Perfect place for our dogs too. No one around with lots of trees. The kids had a ball playing in the snow and building snow f rts.

Wonderful Stay at Riversong
Our family of six (all adults and young adults) loved staying at Riversong. We spent hours on the deck enjoying the sound of the river and beautiful weather and setting. It was clean, so comfortable and nicely appointed and well-laid out for a family.

OK home but not really secluded
Home is in a pretty setting along the river. It is located in a development though with other homes nearby so it is not accurate to describe this as "secluded" which to me means by itself. We were traveling w/ a dog and expecting to be in a location where she could run around outside but that was not possible here unless she was on a leash. The home itself was fine although the kitchen appliances could be updated. The front porch light was either not working or burned out which made going outside at night dangerous as it was difficult to see the front porch steps. Gas grill seemed pretty new although I could not get the burner igniter to work so had to use a match.

Thank you for your feedback. We are here for all guests and wish you would have asked a few questions regarding the location before your booking or stay. We would have been happy to clarify the surroundings for you so you were aware and did not have to assume. We do not ever recommend having pets off leash in this area as there is abundant wildlife and we want all pets to be safe. Had you contacted us during your stay we would have easily been able to help with the porch light by either directing you to a new bulb (as bulbs do just burn out) or if that was not the issue we could have sent someone to take a look. We are here for all guests 24/7 and it seems as if these few issues could have been taken care of with some simple communication.

If you want to stay at the best place possible in Durango Co, this is it. AMAZING PLACE!

Awesome forest retreat!
Very nice property in a quiet community. The river really enhances the ambiance along with the tall trees and mountain ridges surrounding the area. About a 20 minute or so drive into Durango with all of the amenities available there.

Great last-minute summertime outing for the family and the dog.
The home and surrounding property was immaculate. The back deck is great. If you are there in the summer and want to spend the evening on the deck, use one of the fold-up chairs or bring your own camping chair - the deck benches are good for about 20 minutes. The crown jewel of this property is the Florida River rushing just off the back deck. It is phenomenal. The doors and windows however are very efficient at keeping the noise out of the house at night, if that's what you want of course. I wouldn't call the home "secluded" - there are plenty of other homes and cabins around, including two just across the river. It is certainly private though - sitting on the back deck with the roaring river less than fifty feet away and a good amount of forest separating you from any other dwelling - it's perfect. The dog loved chasing the squirrels. The kids loved watching the dog. Momma loved the listening to the kids. I loved my Fat Tire. The back deck is the place to be. We will definitely stay here again.

WOW!!
This place was amazing! My husband and I, along with our 20 year old son, his fiancé and our 16 year son, stayed here for 6 nights. The pictures do not do it justice. The river in the back yard was so amazing and helped lull us all to sleep each night. The house is clean and equipped with everything that a person needs to prepare food, have fun and relax. We spent every night on the back deck, enjoying the sound of river and time together. The property is tucked at the end of the street, and is private and quaint. Really enjoyed ourselves and will be back again!!

Was a beautiful spacious house to stay at. Loved the stream out back! Would recommend that at least one towel per person be available.

We are so glad you enjoyed the home. We do provide one towel per guest. Sometimes extra towels that do not fit on the racks are stored in cabinets. Please come visit us again!
