Beautiful property in the San Juan Mountains!

The property in Lake Purgatory drive was perfect for our vacation in July. There was a beautiful view of the mountains and hummingbirds that we enjoyed while relaxing on the back deck. Temperatures were perfect as it is about ten degrees cooler than the city of Durango. All of the accommodations were wonderful. The owners original artwork was a unique touch that we enjoyed. We highly recommend the property!

Spectacular Views / Setting

High quality home with great views. Quiet. Well appointed… Comfortable. Communication with the owner less than perfect. Lack of clarity about the booking and exit date. And trash disposal code instructions differed from check in process. Last, a loud CO2 alarm at 11:00 pm proved to be no worries… but only after the fire department showed up and ran a check to find that the alarm was 2 years out of date. Ugghhh.

Peaceful Mountain Escape with Wildlife Views

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy Durango cabin! One of the highlights was watching wildlife from the deck — we were lucky enough to see two moose walk right through the creek below and spotted plenty of yellow-bellied marmots throughout our visit. The setting is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and on cooler days we enjoyed building fires in the fireplace. It was the perfect blend of comfort and wilderness. We definitely recommend this spot and would love to come back!

Would be ideal in the summer and fall

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful floor plan. Very comfortable, I wanted to move in. You will never experience more beautiful paintings on all the walls as Mark's - not enough words just breath taking, loved your book. The very big downfall was the parking (total mud and puddles), the driveway (all ice and snow), and the walkway (VERY thick ice and VERY steep). We tried to break it up with the sledge hammer to no avail and the very little salt did nothing. Hot tub was very green, finally got to use it our last full day, after skiing would have been really nice. In our 70's we wanted to be on total vacation, at 364 a night we should expect no less. Would really love to spend the summer and fall there, you can't beat the Durango area.Barb

Absolutely amazing

The host was really awesome. We stayed here last year for my friends birthday and wanted to go back again. This place is definitely on our favorites list. The property is beautiful and the house is always clean. The fireplace inside is one of our favorites too. Keeps the place warm and cozy and is easy to start and maintain. The outside firepit is beautiful and nice for when you get out of the hottub. Beds are also super comfy which is a plus. We discovered the porch swing on the bottom patio this time, its a perfect place to enjoy the river with a cup of coffee. This place is perfect to relax and refresh.

Beautiful Mountain Home

This home was perfect for our family of four and two dogs. The home and surroundings are beautiful. It is secluded but super convenient to Purg and other establishments nearby. We highly recommend!

Great house!

This house is beautiful, clean and has amazing views. But my favorite part was probably the soft comfortable beds, it makes such a difference to have comfortable beds in a rental. I can’t wait to go back.

Easy Access to Skiing and plenty of room

We enjoyed Marks place. It was easy access to Purgatory and dog friendly. It had plenty of space but would say 6 adults 1 child as top bunk was too small for any adults. One of us had allergy issues because there is other left over dog hair on linens and around carpets which you always forget when going to dog friendly property. Our animals are all hypoallergenic. The hot tub was green when we came. We added wster and treated but decided not to use kt. We have a hit tub ourselves and this one probably getting great maintence between stays.

Exceptional property and host!!

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here. We love this property. The creek and the hot tub coupled with the serenity is exceptional. This is our happy place for sure!! Mark is wonderful to work with and has shown us grace and appreciation in a way that no other host on VRBO ever has. We will continue to return as long as he will have us.

Bonnie and Mark the owners are amazing. We very much enjoyed the location, amenities, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and beautiful original art. We enjoyed fired, hot tub, great meals, hiking and playing in the news. Appreciate the dog friendly vibe. Needs a little TLC but was a wonderful time.

Fun in the sun

We have stayed at this condo before and plan on staying there again. We enjoyed our stay. When we arrive the condo had not yet been cleaned, but the owner was very acommendating and refunded our cleaning fee and had the condo cleaned for us the following day. They also left us a homemade peaches and cream pie that was delightful and offered to treat us to dinner.

Ehrenberger's Durango Vacation

Durango is fantastic! The cabin is cozy and has everything you need. The bedding was super comfortable. Everything in the cabin was thoughtfully curated. The deck had a wonderful view, high quality chairs, fire pit and a very nice hot tub. The home is filled with the art of the very talented owner. Amazing getaway proprrty

The home was hidden and isolated. It was a great experience for me and my family. The home was comfortable and we felt very at home by the end of the first day. The creek running behind the home created a great atmosphere. Needless to say we were a little sad when we had to leave. Definitely need a vehicle that can handle the terrain.
