Perfect location. We were very happy and comfortable. Beautiful house and the amenities were amazing. I love that they had individual soap,lotion and cleaning supplies. We would definitely stay here again. We can’t say enough good things about it.

Wonderful Home Directly Across from Purg! Privacy, Views, & Best of Both Worlds

We spent Spring Break 2025 at this beautiful home as 2 adults and two elementary aged kids and it was a lovely stay. The house is in an amazing location where you have the best of both worlds, directly across from Purgatory but nestled in a private neighborhood with beautiful views. The windows throughout the house let in gorgeous natural light. It felt very private the entire time we were there, like you’re in your own private cabin in the woods, with views of the peaks from the back and side of the house. Kitchen is well stocked for everything you need for cooking and serving. Firewood is plenty and stocked. Main patio is awesome right off of the living room. Beds are super comfortable. Just a great place for families or couples. Be advised, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is an absolute necessity, especially during the snow months, even in the Spring. We had to put ours in 4 wheel drive driving into the neighborhood to get to the house almost the entire time we were there in March 2025. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5: As wonderful as our stay was, we were disappointed to find that we could not use the upstairs patio during our entire stay as the outdoor fireplace was Out of Order, Locked. I had inquired about the workability of both fireplaces prior to us arriving and the management company mentioned nothing about the outdoor patio fireplace being out of order and offered nothing to compensate for it, which is unusual, as management knew of the issue prior to our arrival.

Beautiful home!

We truly loved the home. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen. Our favorite unique spot was the upstairs covered deck with fireplace. Very comfortable bedrooms. Beautiful views!

Amazing home!

Beautiful property that was as advertised. We come to Durango each Presidents Day weekend for a ski trip and this house was so convenient. Homey and easy with so many amenities! Will definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Wonderful property!

We spent a week at this property and was perfect for our family (4 adults, 3 children). Most of our activities were around Purgatory and north throughout the week which was way better than staying near Durango. The property was extremely clean and very well stocked. As a cabin owner of a rental property in another state, I had several takeaways to improve my property. Everything was perfect from the comfort to the views. The road in is a little off the beaten path , but the peace and quiet, along with the views, is well worth it. I wouldn’t think twice about booking this property if in the area in the future. Thank you!

Very comfortable house

We had a great visit with family fireplace very nice 😜♥️Virus cut our visit short slopes and restaurants closed teens read to go home ! Lovely cabin in Forrest !!! Could have stayed a month ♥️♥️♥️

Castle Rock Retreat

Our family really enjoyed the property. So much so they were asking when we could come back. The attention to detail and pride of ownership was so evident in the property. We only had one negative thing happen. I spotted a mouse in the master bedroom downstairs! We were able to capture it and released it outside. Needless to say it freaked my wife out quite a bit!

Cliff view house

Our original booking had to be changed to another property due to sewer line issues in the area. The property manager contacted me and provided a list of alternate houses as soon as they knew the original booking was not going to work out. We ended up at Cliff View House and enjoyed or stay.

Met high expectations

My family stayed here in July for 4 nights and had a great time. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and new, the kitchen was stocked with sufficient cookware, the surrounding environment was lovely--all around great experience. I would not hesitate to return in the future.

Amazing place!

The house was absolutely beautiful and comfortable! It’s basically everything we would want in our own mountain home. The host left us some local jam and chocolate from the area which was delicious and greatly appreciated. The road leading up to it sucks but staying in the house was totally worthwhile. It’s about 35 minutes into town. We definitely recommend staying here and would do so ourselves the next time we return. Thanks!

Charming mountain home!

This home felt private in the gorgeous surroundings but with easy access to Purgatory and Durango. The views from every window are spectacular. The decor is comfortable rustic elegance. It is equipped with everything you need and even things you didn't know you needed! We really appreciated the book with the owner's shopping and restaurant recommendations. The floor plan is perfect, allowing everyone to be together or have some private space if they need it. You can tell this new, clean home was designed and decorated with loving care. We loved our stay here and will be back!

Oh The Beauty And Comforts 😊

Wow! Not only was the house comfortable, we all enjoyed the beauty of Castle Rock and the surroundings. The nights were cool so we utilized the fireplace which really is a nice feature, on the deck and in the living room. The house is very well equipped but you should plan and making a trip for a few house provisions, i.e. Trash bags, paper towels, tissue. We are already talking about next year. Until then, thanks for the memories! The Brink Clan....

Beautiful home but ...

This home was beautiful and the area was perfect. We loved so many aspects about it but it had a few issues that should have been addressed. We tried to have them fixed through the management company, but they were not helpful. When we arrived at 6:30 pm, it was very hot in the house. We didn't know if it had air co, but discovered it was turned up to 78, which made the upstairs about 85. We called the management company but agreed to turn the thermostat down and see what would happen the following day. We set the thermostat on 70 and the upstairs eventually cooled down after 2am because the windows were opened. I waited two days and the air co just couldn't cool the house down, especially the upstairs. There was no ventilation in the bunk area and the guest in the upstairs bedroom that had a ceiling fan was very hot and miserable, as well. We both kept the bedroom doors open for ventilation. Again, with the windows open, it cooled down way after midnight, which made it difficult to fall asleep. When it had cooled down outside, we had hoped to use the outside fireplace which is located on the second floor. The instructions in the book said it was challenging to light and we would find the instructions upstairs. We looked for the instructions and could not find them. I called the management company again, about the air co and the fireplace and they said sometimes they do something to the air co to prevent freezing and they did not have notes on the fireplace. They did not send anyone out to check the air co and they did not contact the owners to find out how to turn on the fireplace. I just wonder if the air co could have been a simple freon fix or a simple cleaning of the unit. I realize it was a warmer week in the summer, but I would have been happier if the management would have at least attempted to fix these issues. Other than these issues, it was a wonderful house!
