We're glad you enjoyed your stay at this beautiful little cabin! Unfortunately, mattresses are a hard thing to get right, everyone has their preference.. I personally prefer an incredibly plush mattress that doesn't offer much support. Others need the support and prefer a stiffer mattress. We're sorry the mattresses didn't quite match your preference! Appreciate you bringing the hot water heater and sliding glass door to our attention, we we're not aware and will fix ASAP!

Thanks so much for staying and the comments. I'm glad your parents enjoyed their stay. Each bedroom has it's own thermostat that the guests can use to set for their comfort level. Also, the closest has a plug in heater. There is also a stove on the main level that while is not the main souce of heat, can be turned on for ambiance and even more warmth. The cabin can almost get too warm if you have everything turned on. Love to have them back if they want to visit Durango again. Warmest, Durango Colorado Vacations

We so enjoyed having you at the amazing Double J cabin. We love this cabin and are always working on adding "special touches" to keep the cabin up to date. The kitchen cabinets were just painted and completely restocked with new dishes, pots and pans, glassware, etc. New linens were all just added as well. We are very sorry that you experienced a strong odor from the well water. The home has a large commercial water softener that mitigates this issue. Before you arrived, the home had not had a renter for several days, (our off-season) causing the water in the hot water tank to build up the smell. We were not aware that this could happen. The plumber that works on the house had this information, but we did not. You will see no mention of it from any of our previous guests reviews. I personally returned your call within an hour of your message and began working on solving the problem. I had multiple conversations with your party. Unfortunately, because of the Christmas Holiday, it was difficult to get a plumber up to the property that same day. We did not have another unit available and could only offer you a refund. We are now aware of this and will make sure that the hot water tank gets drained if it goes unused for a period of time. Again, we are truly sorry for this unfortunate situation and hope that the credit we gave you will show our sincerity.
