Purgatory
A little gem very close to Purgatory Mtn. Perfect for our college reunion. True log cabin felt like home. New hot tub was a plus after long days of skiing. Only knock, the coffee pot could use upgrading (add a Keurig) and some new pots and pans would be helpful. Would definitely return.

Great family place
Plenty of room and great amenities! Great location to Durango, Bar D Chuckwagon and Purgatory summer activities. Take bug spray though, the mosquitoes will carry you away! I would highly recommend this lace.

Do not recommend
We arrived to the property around 530 pm in December... it was dark! There were no outside lights on to make getting into the lockbox easier. Once we were in, there were several additional rules that were never mentioned in the listing. I wouldn't have rented this specific property if these additional rules were previously mentioned. The house was structurally gorgeous but, that was soon overtaken by the musty/mildew smell, layers of dust, cobwebs, Black widow looking spiders, dirty dishes, sandpaper for toilet paper, items from previous renters left on the floor, etc... I didn't check the reviews until after we came into these conditions and it's a lesson I have learned the hard way. I see many have left similar reviews on the lack of cleanliness and the responses are all the same, "Our Housekeepers have 'upped their cleaning 'game'". Total BS!!! The amount of dust and mustyness had our allergies flared so much that we almost spent our 2nd night in a hotel. We were very quick at checking out and thankful to be done with this property I spent a lot of money for this property and the sheer yuck of this place disgusts me! Don't bother clicking on the strict Covid cleaning protocol because a simple clean wasn't even done! You're expected to drive your trash up the road, which (for what I paid) I would think trash service is included?!? They have a wood burning stove with cut wood everywhere... yet, signs/notes stating you must provide your own wood?!? All in all, I will NEVER rent through Vrbo or Vacasa ever again! Highly disappointed P.s. where can I upload the photos?

Durango family vacation stop
Great location for nature lovers,. Electra lake closed to public until Summer ,2023 though. Upstairs bedroom does not have a shower which is inconvenient. Only basic network TV channels available. Oven is slow cooking.

It doesn't get much better than this!
Beautiful cabin in an ideal location. We booked Bear Hollow on the spur of the moment when another trip didn't pan out, and we're so glad we did! We looked at a variety of locations near Durango, and this one was perfect. Secluded, set in the forest, but easy access to Durango as well as the mountain towns of Silverton and Ouray. The house is beautifully laid out and could easily host 8 people very comfortably with three baths on three floors. The kitchen is fully appointed, and there wasn't any comfort of home missing. The back deck is spectacular, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Nice and clean! The management firm was so nice to work with and appreciative of our earlier than usual check out. This one is definitely on the "come back to" list!

Texans need Air Conditioning . There’s no A/C.
This property was nice. It was in need of a deep clean and dusting. We were charged a cleaning fee, but they (& us) are getting ripped off for sure. This cabin has 3 floors. You enter the cabin on the bottom floor. That’s the coolest area during the Summer. It has a washer/dryer ( they supplied some laundry pods) but I brought detergent, too. This floor has a living area, TV, couch, bedroom with 2 twin beds & a full bath. It smelled very musty upon entering, but I’m a clean freak and I’m sensitive to smell. You remove your shoes at the entrance of the cabin and I love that. Clean freak. We didn’t spend much time on that floor anyway. The smell dissipated as we ascended the staircase. The 2nd level is the main house. There’s a nice deck off the front, large deck off the back with a hot tub. The hot tub jets didn’t all work but it didn’t matter because we didn’t use it much. (However, you are charged a hot tub fee, so be aware. This Vacasa rental agency charged us SO MUCH in fees, then VRBO charged us fees on top of the rent. This is one reason I will never return to any property managed by Vacasa.) I digress. The second floor has a small bedroom with a queen size bed. Right across the hall is a small bathroom with a shower and sink. They supply towels for the hot tub that are not bath towels , which is nice. Nice size living room, 2 couches dining table and a tv in the upper corner of dining room. Spotty internet, but that’s to be expected. Kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils etc…. We didn’t use any of that except to heat leftovers or eat cereal for breakfast. There were some bugs, flies, spiders and gnats but again, you’re in the woods. It comes with the territory. The 3rd floor is really a loft with a Queen sized bed and half bath, I think. There were just two of us so we stayed on the 2nd floor most of the time. They ask you to load and start the dishwasher before you leave and starting a load of towels is optional, but welcomed. I did the towels and the dishes, of course. In that regard, I think I miss staying at a hotel with maid service . It is vacation after all. It’s a beautiful property. The owners are very gracious to open their home. I would definitely get a different managing company. There are way too many “fees”. I felt hoodwinked. I’d rather just pay more in rent than be superfluous fees. Bottom line is the home is very peaceful nice, and is a great location. I won’t return to any rental with Vacasa.

Thank you for your review, Angela. Our housekeeping crews have recently gone into thoroughly deep cleaning in this unit, on top of the normal cleaning done by our contractor cleaner. We have met with the homeowner to go over deep cleaning, preparing the home for winter, pressure-washed exteriors, and entryways, decks, etc. We appreciate your feedback and hope to host you again very soon.

Place was nice. A little on the dusty side. Needs: 1. Dusting 2. Couple more fans 3. New pillows Was comfortable and a little overpriced but enjoyable and not misrepresented.

Great Cabin in the Durango AREA
We loved our Cabin and the hot tub. The children especially liked the private bedrooms and baths. This is a must stay if you plan to be in Durango a few days to enjoy all the scenery, rafting rides and sight seeing day trips! I would suggest an easier way to take out the garbage to an on site dumpster with lock because my husband never could find the one they left instructions for. But was a very comfortable and memorable stay in Beach Hollow Cabin!

Spacious and Charming Log Cabin in the Forest
This property is ideal for families looking for a log cabin experience near Durango. It's about 20 minutes north of town in a quiet nook of the San Juan forest. There are three floors, each with a bedroom, a bathroom, and a TV. Two living areas also make for lots of hang out space. Those with little children will probably want to bring baby gates to block off the stairs, although one is already provided. Most importantly, there is a private hot tub for the adults once the kids go to sleep! I highly recommend this property and would consider visiting again.

Beautiful cabin
This cabin is beautiful but is in need of a MAJOR dusting. The wooden beams, door frames, ceiling fans, etc. are covered in dust which in resulted in allergies in several family members. Other than that the hot tub was clean and ran great, the area was beautiful and the house was warm and cozy.

Secluded Mountain Getaway
There were 4 adults In our group and the property was perfect as a home base to enjoy the mountains and explore Durango. Everything went smoothly with the property. Loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day of adventure. Kitchen had everything we needed. Property was very clean and in great shape. Highly recommend it. Hope to come back soon!

Pretty great cabin, but wouldn’t recommend as it is now. It was not too clean-dusty, cobwebs, etc. Owners need to repair/replace several things—3 of the 6 patio chairs were torn up and unusable, half of jets on hot tub didn’t work. Mattresses were very uncomfortable. Overall they were minor issues but enough that we wouldn’t return. Lastly, not so minor, something ate through our food in the pantry. Had to trash all our dry goods and buy new. Stored in our truck the remainder of the visit. Food was in packaging and most time inclosed in larger baggie, placed on the higher shelves but something still got it...

Authentic Colorado Experience
Beat Hollow was the absolute perfect fit for our family vacation. We were all together in one house but each family had their own separate floor for privacy. The outside area is perfect for snow sledding, snowball fights, and building a snowman. We spent most of our time around the cabin because everything we wanted to experience was right here at Bear Hollow. The convenience of getting to the ski area and snowmobile riding was perfect, also. The horse drawn sleigh ride at Rapp Corral was within five minutes and was something no one should miss. There were restaurants all around, but we chose to cook here at the cabin and remain laid-back with our winter paradise all around us. Our four-year-old grandson never wanted to leave because all his favorite things to do n the snow were right here at Bear Hollow!

Horrible management. TV didn’t work. Hot tub didn’t work. No master bedroom
First of all local management is worthless. Tv didn’t work so they instructed me to clean off the satellite dish and make sure there were no obstructions. Im the first. That’s your job. Went to get in the hot tub and it didn’t work. Finally got a response after contacting corporate (local guy wouldn’t respond) and I was instructed that the motor was out. They don’t provide firewood (first time ever that’s happened in CO and I’ve been vacationing here for over 20 years). Very cold in the living room because the ceiling are vaulted and so the heat rises to the top. Only 1 roll of paper towels. No true master bedroom as only one bedroom connects to a bath and that bath doesn’t have a shower. Would not stay here again. May reconsider if VACASA isn’t managing it.

We are so very sorry to read you did not have a better experience with us. DirecTV is fixed, the hot tub now has a new motor, we have restocked the firewood by the front door with plenty of extra firewood under a tarp near the front of the home, and the home is kept comfortable with the baseboard heating and two fireplaces. House is great but property manager is terrible
We took my elderly mother to this cabin because she loves Colorado. The house is nice but the hot tub was not working properly from day one. We tried calling the number that they gave us and we never received a phone call back. I tried for several days and left messages each time. Would definitely not go back for this reason

Everything was as shown on website. The only draw back would be the downstairs stove(heat) did not work correctly. We did call and someone came out that day.. But still didn't work correctly. But that is not the only form of heat so it wasn't a big issue. Overall a very nice cabin with a great layout.

Highly recommended
The property was very clean, well appointed, and everything worked well. It was an outstanding stay, and highly recommended. The property is on three levels: You enter on the first level, which includes a sitting area, laundry, bedroom and bathroom. Up the stairs is the kitchen and living room/family room, dining area, bedroom, bath, and access to a front balcony and rear deck (with propane grill & hot tub) and is quite private. Up another level is a loft with another bed. We went mid-week in mid september, and your best bets for lunch are Silverton or Durango, there is really nothing nearby (sandwiches or soup at Needles store), Purgatory ski area is essentially closed, so at that time of year don't expect a lot of shopping or dining. The good news is there is plenty of hiking nearby, of which we definitely took advantage. Followed by a hot tub, and no complaints. First class accommodation, would definitely recommend.

Everything we expected, great cabin , location, very clean... only complaint was one on the local residents complained we were driving too fast on the turn off from 550 and reported it to HOA, which in returned called me...This lady was rude and waving her arms like we were driving 40 mph, we were not -exceeding the 15 mph , we realize this is a neighborhood and never exceeded the posted speed on either road 15 mph and 10 mph on the other. The cabin was as advertised. Very comfortable with a good kitchen for cooking especially if you have kids and that’s easier then eating out constantly. About 15 minutes from Durango and also only 10 minutes to purgatory! The cabin is back in the trees so decent privacy. While we stayed there was 40 inches of snow in 48 hours at the cabin and the snow removal crew had the road open for us to get back out each day before noon. My wife and I and our four kids really enjoyed the stay would definitely recommend it for families with kids due to the size and comfort of cabin. Along with that there are lots of great things to do in the Durango/Purgatory area!

Absolutely loved this cabin!! This cabin is nothing short of amazing. It's secluded enough to where you have some privacy but not too far from town. The kitchen was equipped with utensils and cookware so we were able to prepare meals, which was nice not having to eat out every meal for several days. The hot tub was an added bonus which we enjoyed soaking in after a long day of outdoor activities. The host was incredibly hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!

The cabin was a very nice cabin! Loved the area, our kids enjoyed it as well us me and my husband. It was very clean, and classic cabin feel! The only down side was the pull out coach bed was not comfortable. So for the first 2 nights our middle boys did not sleep well, but we found a solution the last night between one just sleeping on the couch a the other sleeping on a extra air mattress we brought just in case. So that worked better! We would still come back though:)

Essentially subtract a room
The basement bedroom overwhelmingly smelled of varnish. I had an asthma reaction and my wife couldn’t sleep because it was so overpowering. Bathrooms were also small.
