The view is amazing, loved it, at night and during the day. Some breakfast items, good coffee and a welcome drink are provided. The host has described the steepness of the driveway accurately and has suggested parking down the hill and across the road if you can't navigate the driveway. I wouldn't consider this a straightforward alternative, particularly if you arrive at night or in the rain, or at a busy time in the traffic. We found the bed waaaay too saggy. It was great to have a washing machine/dryer. The heat pump was really effective and we were cosy despite it being a cold night. The 'kitchen' set up is not easy with hotplates right next to the tv. We only used the toaster and coffee maker. There's no where to place a suitcase or to hang clothes. The shower was hot with good pressure. We loved the quirkiness and history of the property, but it's not for everyone.

Million dollar view from a very compact studio. As described, entry instructions were excellent as well as the detail for parking and how to manage the driveway. End of bed is close to the wall and a protruding pillar which we kept bumping into as we passed it to get around to the other side of the bed. Could do with some more hooks and a powerpoint in the bathroom, as well as some coathangers and somewhere to hang up a few items of clothing. Bed not comfy for two people - we disturbed each other all night with the slightest movement. It was a challenge to manage with our luggage in the compact space too. After all that, absolutely worth it for the VIEW!!!!

Great concept and enjoyed the stay, however needs maintenance with rot in window frames, cork floor covering in bathroom failing and bed too soft. No wine glasses.Access to car park below studio very challenging due to steep driveway.

Apart from the view, everything is disgusting, the shower is disgusting, the bed is uncomfortable, and the kitchenette is a collection of appliances on an old dresser. Really not recommended room!

Overall we loved staying in this studio! The view was unbeatable and the location was perfect - close to downtown but outside of the noise and crowds. The place is definitely a little quirky but in a charming way! Would return!

Loved this little art deco stay, the bay shaped window and the view is stunning. Lots of little improvements could be made to make the space more usable and comfortable. Felt it could have been a little cleaner and the bed was shockingly soft, but you can’t cater to everyone’s needs. Overall a nice stay.

The Harbour Studio is really lovely. Easily accessible. Close to town and supermarkets etc.It was also very warm, and dry despite being winter. The room gets sun all afternoon (if there is sun to be had)Despite sharing access with two other properties, it was lovely and private.I enjoyed a couple of lovely walks along the shared path that runs along the harbour.The standout feature of the studio is the view. Day, night, anytime, you want to keep the curtains open to enjoy it.We ended up staying 2 extra nights.

We enjoyed a nights stay at the Harbour Studio. Fantastic views of the harbour, lovely and clean and had great amenities. Bed was comfortable and the host was very accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, we will be back 👍

Great little Art Deco Studio.

I had a fantastic 3 night stay and seemed to spend most of it watching the happenings on the water and enjoying the views of Dunedin city and the hills beyond from abundant windows. Appreciated the makings for breakfast in the fridge. Such a peaceful area to stay in, yet so close to Dunedin.

Small studio in a great location

Cost apartment. Beautiful views and close to the CBD. We parked in the yacht club parking lot because the driveway was so steep and a bit challenging. Overall good stay.
