Beautiful place to stay
We had the best time! The property was stunning and the hot tub was just what we needed for a relaxing weekend away! So clean and everything we needed without having to go anywhere! Can’t recommend enough.

Beautiful lodge tucked away. Very quiet but plenty to do and see in Dumfries and surrounding area. The property was finished to a very high standard. Immaculate throughout. The hot tub was a lovely way to round off each day. We will be back

Fantastic stay
The property is fabulous, absolutely spotless and everything you need and the hot tub is a lovely touch. Walking is great from the lodge around Mabie Forest, we had a fantastic stay, Nigel the owner was very helpful and gave us some ideas of places to see and we will definitely be back :)

Fantastic
This accommodation is stunning no experience spared, all amenities included. Has air conditioning which was perfect as we were here in the heat wave. It was so comfortable, spotless, peaceful looking on to the fields with the farm animals as neighbours. 20 minutes either way to farm park, beaches, shops/town centre. Will defo recommend to anyone looking to relax.

Amazing relaxing stay
We stayed as a group of 4 friends for the weekend. This lodge is beautifully decorated and in immaculate condition. Hot tub was a big hit with our group. Fab communication prior to check in. This stay was everything we were after, we would 100% return.

Disappointing
Website said 1oclock check-in. Whilst driving for over 5 hours and still receiving no check in details I emailed asking to then receive a phone call saying that they had no idea about our booking but they could now see it after booking at the beginning of the year. He said he had another lodge free so it was fine. But this isn't the one I booked so we was very disappointed. He then said it will be ready by 3.30 because it hadnt been cleaned but originally the email said 1oclock check in. Upon arrival, it wasn't a very clean lodge but I'm guessing it's because they rushed to clean it. It's not finished to a high standard and considering it's not that old, the paint work and interior is a little tacky. Not once has the owner been in contact especially after the mess up. Luckily he had a lodge vacant otherwise I don't know what would of happened. The bed sheets had hairs on them so we had to change it inside out. The bread bin was filthy. The over hood has never been cleaned - thick dust. The cold doesn't work in the shower. For a stay so expensive you would of expected coffee sachets at least.

Very disappointed with this Review which is not relevant to this property, our lodges have in total over 500 5star reviews which clearly state how clean and very well presented they are . The issue with the booking being missed is being looked into . We did not have any communication from you say you were not happy but if we did we would have dealt with any problem you had .I was being nice with my review to you but after reading your review I would be honest now and rate you no stars

Peaceful and relaxing
This was an excellent getaway, lodge was immaculate and was a home away from home. Me and my friend spent few days here relaxing away from our work it was so peaceful and the hot tub was a bonus. I have recommended to friends who have asked and I will definitely be back at some point. Nigel gave me all the details I required to gain access and was an excellent host

Just what the doctor ordered!!
After an extremely stressful few years we were able to get away, re harge our batteries and reconnect as a family. The lodge was immaculate, modern and cosy. The hottub was simple to use and the scenery was a delight. We will definitely be back again soon.

Fab Relaxing Break
We had a great time, 2nd stay at these lodges. Fully equipped to a high standard, very comfortable and the hot tub was brilliant. Location is handy for a lot of varied attractions/activities. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Great lodge very clean lovely stay. Great for forest walks nearby and cycling
Any questions or issues messaged nigel he replied straight away no issues. Maybe having a little book about cycle/walk paths near to lodge would be good as not all paths on Google maps.

Fantastic lodge for stargazing!
Beautiful, clean, well equipped, comfortable bed and great shower - we loved the lodge! Saw my first shooting star from the hot tub! Pretty and quiet location and the decking area is a great suntrap. Lovely walks and cycles close by.

Enjoyable getaway
The property is exactly as described and located in the beautiful lower scottish countryside just 5-10 mins drive from Dumfries where all local amenities are if required. It was spotlessly clean and finished to a very high standard with nice fittings and decor -Overall a lovely place to stay. The hot tub was excellent even if we could only enjoy it in smaller doses due to the freezing weather but was excellent when we did! Host was prompt, to the point and helpful. Would definitely stay again

Fabulous lodge
Stayed here for a long weekend and we loved it. Lodge is amazing with everything you need and more for a comfortable, homely holiday. Clean, warm and very comfortable with modern decor and appliances. Check in was easy as was communication with the owners. Hot tub was fantastic. We will certainly book again, thank you!!

Beautiful and relaxing stay
Me and my partner had a brilliant experience with this lodge and the owners, they were very cautious that everything was in correct order which I highly respected, I use to clean lodges for a living and I noticed their attitude to keeping our lodge as clean and comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this lodge!

Lovely time away
We had a fab time at Nigel & Heather's. Great location and lovely place- really is a home from home. The beds were comfy, the shower was great, and there were lots of utensils in the kitchen. We'd certainly stay again and would recommend to others. Thank you!

Excellent lodge and hot tub
We spent 1 week in this very comfortable and well equipped lodge. The place was spotless, the beds comfortable, the shower was fab and the hot tub was amazing. The host was very friendly and attentive looking after the hot tub with the chemical changes etc. Will definately book again

Brilliant & chilled few days
Had a brilliant stay at Woodend lodge, hot tub was superb but used sparingly due to the heat so the air con in the lodge was an absolute lifesaver, also a lovely and peaceful area. Will definitely look to book again when possible.

Scotland staycation!
Superb lodge. Modern, bright, brilliant hot tub and the views were fantastic. Nigel was always available to contact. Only minor thing was the wifi wasnt great but as this was a new lodge a few teething problems are to be expected! Would 100% stay again and will be booking again in the near future.

Great lodge near beautiful walks
The lodge is ideal for a family to stay, well equipped with high chair and plastic plates. Hot tub is an added bonus. Contactless check in is also great as meant you didn’t need to keep to a specific time. Location is great with beautiful views onto the field behind. Only 20min drive to Rockcliffe which is a stunning Beach. No restaurants or cafes within walking distance that we could see. Couldn’t find the path from the doorstep that was mentioned in the advert. But if you have a car everything is close by.

Corona short break
We booked last year (before the virus) and decided not to cancel. Glad we didn't. Although lots of Tourist places weren't practical or open fully (if at all) we had fun. The hot-tub was an instant hit (the bar over the top is for levering the cover on and off. Fold one side of the cover over the bar and lever the bar mechanism off the tub with the cover draped over it). I didn't know how it worked at first. I thought it was just there to weigh the lid down in wind! I’m blaming age but the Wife said it was my duplidty or something. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean, bright and spacious. Everything was clean and well set out. Even the sheep in the field looked particularly clean, then it rained and I realised why. Funny little things just standing in the rain shouting at each other. The kitchen had everything you could need. Once we worked out how an electric hob works, we were good to go with our cooking masterclass (beans). It was our first venture into Scotland but we'll be back. Over ten years ago we took a Fostered child on his first ever holiday. Before storms were given names. We took him to the lake district camping! I don't think he'll want to go camping as an adult hahaha. In Dumfries we brought our Fostered child and Grandson to much more luxurious accommodation. They enjoyed it. Although it rained, the cabin was perfect. We cheated a bit and took an Xbox so both boys didn't get too bored. The long drives between one closed down place and another was interesting and passed the time as the boys stared at their phones (I don’t think they noticed much so it was a success). Reminded me of taking my own child out in the car to help him sleep as a baby. These two boys are just the same (14 & 15) if you give them technology everything and everybody ceases to exist and time speeds up. We could do a review on supermarkets and petrol stations because they were open and we seemed to leap-frog from one to another collecting carrier bags. Crisps, pop and popcorn don’t buy themselves. After each journey parking the car in the private driveway to make the short dash through torrential rain from car-door to cabin-door was welcoming. When the sun came out it was glorious and even with the changeable weather it wasn’t cold. We had the sliding patio doors open a lot and used the tub a lot. The cabin is very relaxing and out of the way amongst hills and farms. Its homely and peaceful. We might be back and would highly recommend.

Book it you won’t be disappointed!!
Woodburn lodge is perfect for a get away from it all stay! It’s very clean and has all you could need for a comfortable holiday. The WiFi works well and the full sky pack was a bonus for the children. The lodge is in a perfect location for discovering the 7stanes mountain bike trails and there is also a bike/walking path right from the door, which leads to some stunning scenery. Kippford is great for crabbing and the Anchor Hotel for food is lovely. Nigel and Heather were great hosts, bringing us clean bedding half way through our stay and tending to the hot tub which was just fantastic! We’re all going to miss the hot tub!! All in all we have had the best holiday and we’ve created some magical memories!! Looking forward to returning in October!! Thank you Nigel and Heather for this little piece of heaven you have created!

Such a relaxing weekend
Had the most relaxing weekend, the check in process was so chilled out and we felt so at ease. The lodge was absolutely faultless and hot tub was all sorted so all we had to do was get in! Fab weekend and we’ll definitely be back.

Two night stay with friends
Thoroughly enjoyed our time away. Lodge was great and hot tub excellent . Only improvements would be in new bedding as the feel was bobbly and past it's best. Beds could also do with upgrade as not the comfiest. Would definitely recommend and come back.
