I went for a business overnight and didn’t need to spend much time there and it was fine for what it was; cheap overnight in central location.
The bar downstairs was modern and clean, relatively busy, customers were friendly and the staff welcoming. Check in was a bit confusing as it’s at the bar and they didn’t seem to be expecting me.
The hotel was a different story, no lift and dated corridors. The room itself had what you’d expect; the bed was comfy enough and had clean sheets and towels laid out but the rest of the room was unfortunately dirty. The WiFi was quite poor for anything other than emails.
Cobwebs on windows, food stains on walls, pink and black mould in the shower, dirty marks on walls. The room was very warm with no way to amend the temperature. The corridor had noisy comings and going’s until after 1am.
I wouldn’t stay again but it’s doable for a cheap place to sleep and I imagine if you like a drink and wanted to socialise in the bar it would suit you fine. Not for business trips or families but would suit a cheap and cheerful overnight.
Handy for train station, near shops and food. Personally didn’t eat at the pub itself so can’t comment on that. Hope that helps.
