Our stay was wonderful. Couldn't have asked for a tidier place, or better communication from our hosts. They even had a little gift basket for the dog to choose from! We will absolutely be back!

Absolutely loved it. Kids and dog loved the suave and we all sieht s out of time exporting the shallow rapids and counting the different birds we saw. We met Cheryl briefly and she recommended we take reclining lawn chairs to the front lawn to watch the stars - we did that after a fire and it was fantastic. Lots of games, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. We rented a canoe from McReary Resort siren the road and also made a day trip to Murphys Point. Just loved it!

Great home base on the river

Clean, cozy cottage on the river. Pet friendly and gorgeous historic towns around to discover.Water isn’t ideal for swimming right at the property but walking around the rapids is an experience all its own.Close to Perth, Carlton Place.. well worth the trips.

Very nice comfortable place. We were only 3 minutes from where our family lives. Dog friendly and they left treats and bowls for our dog which was a kind gesture. It looks exactly like the picture.

This was a great place to kick back and relax with family. Had a wonderful bbq, great views of the water and comfy beds. Just make sure you bring water shoes as it is rocky but so much fun walking out in the shallow water exploring.

Great getaway close to Ottawa

We had a great time in our short stay here. Great view at the back of the cottage from the inside, and being by the river on a hot day is fantastic. Although this is a smaller place, there is still plenty of room and the layout is functional. Great to be able to use the bbq for dinners. Would definitely recommend to any looking to get away from the city. Close enough to Ottawa for day trips into the city for exploring.

Lovely cottage!

Such an amazing find! Truly a dog-friendly property, with a welcome bag of dog goodies (e.g., treats, poop bags, tie out, leash) and plenty of dog towels and blankets available. The owners have added many thoughful touches (e.g., charging cord, board games, warm jackets to borrow) which helps make this cottage even more relaxing. The only downsides were the overly soft queen mattress and living room furniture (the poor support aggravated a back injury) and that the fire pit is exposed to the wind so it’s difficult to control the flame. I’d also suggest a designated place with a hard surface to chop wood. Otherwise an absolutely amazing place! We will definitely stay again!

Lovely

This is a lovely place to come to for relaxation. Perfectly situated to explore the surrounding area. It is roomy, comfortable and excellently equipped with everything you need for your stay. Being pet friendly is an added bonus. I would suggest that the checkin email be sent out a couple of days ahead of the renter’s stay, especially when people are travelling a distance to get there. Stayed September 2024.

Excellent communication from the host. Absolutely stunning view, we LOVED falling asleep to the sound of the river every night. Cottage was clean, well organized and had everything we needed and more. Definitely felt like a "home away from home". We look forward to our next booking.

Idyllic Riverfront Cottage

The cottage was fantastic - we had everything we needed for a Thanksgiving weekend (except great weather, lol, but it wasn't too bad). Beds were comfy, the place was super clean and the view out the large front windows was spectacular. We were visited daily by a giant great blue heron - my totem animal! No complaints whatsoever. Would love to go back in the spring.

Relaxing Cottage

The cottage is as described,, very clean and has everything you need. The location on the river is calm and allows great bird watching.Found the helpful hints booklet to be very useful. Love the town of Merrickville. 5 stars!

Lovely cottage

Super peaceful cottage on the river. Loved seeing the great blue heron every morning and evening. My pup, Kaia, felt very comfortable here too and loved the hospitality shown to her from Jack. Would recommend and would love to stay again sometime!

Cottage was very welcoming. Especially appreciated that there was coffee since we were only staying 2 nights. Bed was very comfortable. Also appreciated that menus fir local restaurants were provided. I would stay here again!
