Overall, we loved the home - once they get mice under control, it should be a great place to stay. But we were happy to get out of there, as sharing the space with mice was not what we anticipated. Droppings were found many places upon our arrival to a home that was cleaned days prior. Then mice sightings began. And as crazy as it sounds, we had two pair of small earrings stolen off bedside tables by the mice - one set found in a distant corner with some string and droppings the next day. Another pair never recovered. So weird! Thankfully not too costly.
We let owner know of mice once we saw the first mouse. He sent someone to put out traps, but that didn't do much. And even though I had asked him to text me if they were sending someone, he ignored my message and did not. He also chose to tell me that they had never had anyone complain of mice before, but we saw a dead mouse in a trap with many droppings around in the utility closet, so they did know they had a problem.
The home is truly lovely, with plenty of space for a large family, and views that are to die for! That part was all as advertised! But coming back after a long day at Yellowstone/Tetons to more droppings and scurrying mice made it not the comfortable stay we'd hoped for. Also, the doors were hard to lock/unlock. And the grill wasn't working, which made us have to switch plans for one of our meals. So, I feel generous with 4 stars - choosing to offer the stars for the home more than our experience there.
