💫 Tap the ❤️ to save this stay — we’d be honored to host your escape.

    Guest Access:

    Guest Access

Guests have exclusive access to the Hill Country Retreat Guest House and approximately 3–4 acres of wooded land, located to the left of the road as you enter and drive up the property. This area is yours to enjoy during your stay. The area beyond the cedar privacy fence is reserved for the guests of the main house.

    Gate Access

The front gate is usually open. If closed, a gate code will be provided in your booking confirmation.

    • Entering: gate opens away from your vehicle and remains open ~20 seconds

    • Exiting: gate opens toward you via a pressure sensor (keep slightly right as you exit)

    Directions on Property

After entering the gate, keep left at the first fork and left again when you see the water tanks. Follow the cedar-mulched drive beneath the oaks to a short (~50 ft) path accessing the rear of the guesthouse.

    Parking

Parking is provided near the guesthouse. Please drive and reverse with care under the oaks, as trees are close to the entrance.

    Entry & Luggage

The guesthouse will be unlocked on arrival. You’re welcome to lock it during your stay. A small green luggage trolley is provided for convenience.

    Other Things to Note:

    Other Things to Note

    Cameras & Privacy

For safety, property access visibility, and wildlife monitoring only, there is a front-facing driveway gate camera and a Ring camera on the exterior of my private barn

None of these devices record audio, overlook guest areas, or are located inside the guesthouse. They are not actively monitored, and privacy has been very intentionally preserved.

    Water System & Conservation

The guesthouse is supplied entirely by rainwater, not well water. Rainwater is naturally cleaner and is treated through an ozone filtration system, with an additional Berkey filter provided on site for drinking water.

Because the property relies solely on rainwater—which is a finite supply shared between the main house and guesthouse—I kindly ask that guests are mindful of water usage and ensure all taps are fully turned off when not in use.

The cowboy pool is also filled with freshly filtered rainwater, helping provide a clean, chemical-light experience.

    Dogs, Leashes & Land Care

Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. For the safety of your pets, local wildlife, and the property, dogs must remain on a leash at all times.

While the wider property is fenced, I cannot guarantee the integrity of every section of fencing, and the front gate is generally left open.

Please also ensure you clean up after your pet at all times to preserve the pristine nature of the land and ensure future guests enjoy the same experience.

Cowboy Pool – Safety & Use

The cowboy pool is typically covered with an insulated cover to help keep leaves and debris out and to provide insulation during both summer and winter months. Please be aware of this cover on arrival.

There is no gated enclosure around the pool, so please be especially vigilant with infants and pets at all times.

The insulated cover may be removed and neatly tied back using the twine attached to one of the solar lanterns near the pool.

Pool water is treated with minimal amounts of chlorine as needed and is rainwater-fed and filtered on site through a sand-filtered pool pump.

If you have any questions at all about pool use or setup, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Irrigation, Wildlife & Pollinators

There is a small outdoor sprinkler system that waters the grass area, which typically runs between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. This helps keep the vegetation healthy and encourages pollinators.

You may notice bumblebees in the nearby thicket and hedges. They are an important part of the local ecosystem, but please take care if you have allergies.

    Fire Pit Safety

The fire pit may be used only when there is no local burn ban in effect and when winds are below 10 mph.

A hose and fire extinguishers are provided nearby. Please ensure the fire is fully extinguished—no embers or smoldering—before leaving the area or going to bed.

Thank you for your care and consideration. These guidelines help protect the land, the home, and everyone’s safety while ensuring the best possible guest experience.

    Interaction with Guests:

I am available via messenger on this app and also live at the far end of the property, which is about 2 football fields away in proximity. I am here around 50% of the time. I also have a wonderful assistant who is local, however does not stay on the property, she will also be able to assist if I am not here. I tend to not interact with guests at all as I would want privacy as a guest. If I bump into you on property I will certainly say hello :) I try to keep my phone on silent from 10:30pm - 7:30am, so may not pick up your message during these times.
