Recently stayed at this cabin for two weeks.
Pros:
Loved the location. It's off the beaten track away from any other cabins, campgrounds etc...Extremely quiet and peaceful! Loved sitting on the deck late afternoon and evenings enjoying something to drink and looking out over the meadow. It takes about 15 minutes to get back to Hwy 55 from the cabin. McCall is 11 miles north and Cascade 16 miles south, so it's nicely located between the two.
The cabin is very nicely decorated and comfortable. It has a nice kitchen that is full furnished with everything you need. Dining area next to the kitchen is roomy and a great place to play games or cards.
The bedrooms are nice and the beds quite comfortable. Slept like a dream there. Plenty of extra bedding if it gets cold. The electric heating in the bedrooms and bathrooms works great as does the propane stove in the living room.
The deck is very nice and spacious and the BBQ worked great.
Cons:
The most glaring downside to the cabin, and unfortunately it's a big downside, is the water / plumbing. The water has a lot of iron and minerals in it and tastes nasty. If you're going to stay here bring plenty of your own drinking water.
Also the hard water has apparently taken it's toll on the cabin's plumbing. The shower in the south bathroom (tub / shower) was unusable as it would only produce a trickle of water. The shower in the north bathroom worked ok.
The toilet in the half bathroom was out of order. The other two toilets worked but after they were flushed it took 15 minutes for the tanks to refill. The valves were open fully but I suspect the hard water deposit build ups are choking off the flow.
The kitchen faucet was also a problem. It's one of those 1 lever faucets you adjust for the temperature and it was nearly impossible to get it adjusted for cool water.
In addition, the Direct TV wasn't working. Not a big deal for me as I wasn't there to watch tv. However, when I first got there I checked it out just to see if it worked and it kept saying it had a 701 Signal Error. Again, I didn't really care about that but prospective future renters might.
In summary, I had a nice stay there and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. However, anyone thinking of renting it needs to really consider the water issues.
