From Check In to Check Out, this was an amazing vacation home. Every common area of the home inside and outside is designed for socializing. Lots of seating, tables and lighting. If you are contemplating staying at this location, do not hesitate, it is perfect! We have traveled as a family of 7 for many years and this is by far the best home we have ever stayed at. As many people have said, there is a couple that lives on the property. They are there to help make your stay perfect! Darling cooked the most delicious meals! Licho set up all our excursions prior to our arrival. They gave us a tour of the home upon arrival and were available throughout our stay to answer questions, ask for recommendations and to take care of any concerns at the house. Prior to the trip I was wondering if I would feel uncomfortable with a couple living on the property. I like my privacy and do not like to feel like I am being monitored. We felt completely private. Darling and Licho are available to assist with anything, but other than that, you forget they are on the property. The set up is perfect. The living quarters are separate and the property is very large that you do not remember they live there also. Licho set up several excursions for us and we felt very safe and had so much fun on the excursions. Our boys took surfing lessons, we went fishing, we had massages done at the home (that was amazing!) and we went on a snorkeling excursion to Cano Island. All top notch! 5 Star Stay!!

100% PERFECT RETREAT. Easy drive from San Jose 3-4 hrs. Licho, the property manager messaged us the morning of our arrival to coordinate anrrival and met us at a gas station a minute or two from the villa. This was an easy meeting spot and then we just followed him up to the house. The house is completely gated in which helped us feel very secure. The second you walk up or enter the property you have arrived at your own jungle paradise. We had two families for a total of four adults and five children aged six through 13. The house could not have been better for us. First there are two main suites that are identical replicas of each other. This made it easy for sharing the space. Each room had its own private bathroom with either a shower or a shower and bath. But where the villa really shown was with how the outdoor world combines with the indoor. There is a gorgeous spanning pool and an incredible ocean vista. There are so many individual little areas to sit and gather or be totally alone by yourself. The villa was incredibly well supplied. We found no cooking utensils absent. There were plenty of towels for the beach and the bath. Everything was perfect. Loved seeing monkeys from the pool! We had booked our itinerary prior to arrival but we didn’t need to as Licho could’ve coordinated everything. He’s a gem. He sent us a link with multiple excursions options/massage/etc when we were there. Recommend Catarata Uvita (waterfall)and Seba’s for pizza/cocktails (10 min)

We had a lovely time at this house in Uvita Costa Rica. Licho and his wife took great care of us- Licho helped change a flat tire and directed us to the repair shop and was always available for any questions, and they prepared a lovely dinner for us which I highly recommend. The house is expansive, with plenty of space for a big group or family. We had caught some tuna so cooked some scrumptious dinners over the bbq and ate them al fresco at the outdoor table. The sunsets over the ocean were magical and we enjoyed the symphony at night from the howler and other monkeys and the birdsong in the AM. I saw a Toucan ( yellow bill) and was told fairly common at the house . The driveway is steep and in general advise getting a 4wd car for Costa Rica. I would highly recommend this house and the Uvita area for anyone and plan to return next year!

Jungle paradise

After wedding getaway

We stayed here after a week of events for our wedding with a few friends and it was EXACTLY what we needed to de-stress! The house is amazing! I’ve never felt so relaxed! The house is beautifully nestled on a mountain in the rainforest overlooking the ocean. Monkeys visited us every morning, as well as other local wildlife.Licho was the perfect host and was available if we needed anything. Will definitely be returning very soon!

Our family of 5 spent an amazing week at this luxury escape. Licho was extremely helpful and responsive, and Darling cooked us some of our favorite meals on the trip! Can’t beat seeing monkeys, a sloth and an array of tropical birds right from your own pool!

Total relaxation

We were a group of 8 traveling to Costa Rica for the first time, ages 23-67. This home and visit surpassed all of our expectations. It started with my first communication with Nicolas who provided me contact information to help complete our travel arrangements. They have a house manager on site who is there to assist you with anything you need. His wife Darling prepared several meals which we all enjoyed. The home is positioned on the mountain side and you are immersed in beauty with a variety of birds to include toucans visiting in the evenings and howler monkeys in the mornings. We did day trips to include a ATV tour and zip lining which Licho helped arrange and then we would come back to the home to relax and enjoy our evenings. The pictures of this beautiful home are not misleading and everyday we all woke saying how fortunate we were to have this experience and to have found this home to stay at for our vacation. Absolutely a beautiful home!

Unforgettable experience in paradise

We loved our stay in Uvita. There was so much room for 3 couples to enjoy. Photos do not even capture the beauty of the place. Our 4WD handles the steep driveway well. Licho the property manager was super helpful and friendly. It rained most of our trip and the covered areas outside were wonderful for dinners protected from the elements. I will definitely be back.

Amazing Property

This was a family trip with our 6 adult children and our 2.5 year old granddaughter. Each couple had their own suite with a bathroom. There are many areas in the house to relax and enjoy private space. We loved seeing monkeys, agouti, toucan right outside our home. The caretakers were top notch.

A magical week

We booked our week at La Libulela well in advance to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary with our two sons and daughters-in-law. When we saw the pictures of the house and its location overlooking the Pacific on the south coast of Costa Rice on VRBO, we were sure this was the place we wanted to be for our anniversary. We arrived at La Libulela in the early evening after flights from three different places, and then took an almost 4hour drive in pouring rain most of the way. Needless to say we were exhausted, but we were met by Licho at an agreed gas station, who then guided us to the house. We definitely needed our 4x4 SUV to get there, but upon arrival Licho's wife, Darling, had (by pre-arrangement) the most delicious traditional Costa Rican dinner prepared for us. She cooked for us 5 nights of our 7 night stay. All were special. The house, pool, and grounds were even beyond our expectations, which were very high. Having three king-sized beds in our three beautiful en-suite bedrooms was wonderful. Our week flew by, with walks on the beach, ATV adventures, coffee farm tour, seeing a mother and baby finback whales, water falls exploration with a sloth sighting, relaxing in and by the pool part of every day day, visits to the house by a large white-face monkey family, as well as toucans and macaws, anniversary dinner at a restaurant right on the ocean, and most especially the warmth, welcome and friendship of our hosts, Licho and Darling. Truly a magical week.

Absolutely Magical!

Our family of 6 stayed at La Libelula in July and had the most wonderful experience there. The home and grounds are gorgeous! We loved the sounds of the jungle surrounding us. Licho helped with all the details including activity planning and rental car arrangements. Do get a 4x4, very nice to have especially if it rains. Darling cooked us two meals during our stay and they were delicious! The enchiladas were a favorite. The vacation was completely stress free thanks to Nicolas, Licho, and Darling. As others have reviewed, they were available if we needed them for anything, but always discreet. Truly the most kind and precious people! There are lots of restaurants in Uvita and nearby Dominical, we especially loved La Choza De Alejo and Los Laureles (The owner, Cindy, is so sweet and be sure to go on Thursday to enjoy the cinnamon buns!). Check out Catarata waterfall and try the natural water slide. We also loved waterfall repelling, the jungle ATV tour, and snorkeling. Honestly, you can't go wrong! We fell in love with Uvita, this home, and Licho and Darling. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Jungle Paradise

The house was amazing, plenty of space for everyone. The pool and patio spaces were wonderful. We woke up to birds and butterflies daily. We got lucky and got to see a troop of monkeys on the property one afternoon. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The driveway is very steep as the house is on a hill. There is a house manager on property who was helpful and kind. Be prepared to enjoy paradise.

Fantastic House in Uvita

This house was great. We loved Uvita. It had a good view of the beach. The pool was fantastic as well as all the outdoor space. We liked having two separate living areas inside the house, one upstairs and one downstairs. We found it super convenient to the grocery store, the beach, restaurants and then a short distance to the Uvita waterfall, horseback riding and surf lessons. The on-site property manager was great with answering all our questions we had through our the stay. Super fun trip!

Paradise in the Costa Rica Rainforest

Our family of 10 people stayed from May 6th to May 16th. The home was beautiful, spacious, clean and well maintained. The beautiful pool and yard made us feel like we were at our own personal Resort. We had so much fun enjoying all the indoor and outdoor amenities. My 2.5 year old, and 7 year old granddaughters loved the pool, as did all of us. Especially after coming home from a hot humid excursion. The pool was welcome relief to the heat and humidity. Lichio and Darling were amazing hosts and catered to every need or question that we had. They also made us two tasty dinners! Much better than going out for dinner (which was mostly disappointing). The home is large and well designed for our large family. It was a great home base while exploring the Costa Rican rainforest and other touristy options nearby. We all hope to visit again someday in the near future. I give this a 10 out of 10 !

A little slice of heaven

The home is beautiful and the view is amazing. There are several outdoor dining and "hang out" areas that just add to the experience. The pool was perfect - our family was in it all the time. It is a short drive to Uvita (5 minutes). But the best part is Nicholas, Licho and Darling. They make sure your every need is covered and make you feel like family. Would 1000% stay here again.

Amazing Home and Hospitality

We absolutely loved our stay! The home is simply fabulous! The many outdoor spaces were the highlight of our trip! We loved spending our afternoons hanging out in the pool and enjoying the sounds of the rainforest! Licho and Darling were so sweet and handled all of our requests within minutes! This home is the definition of Puravida! We are already making plans to return!

Paradise in Uvita

La Libelula is a very special place and we are grateful to have spent 10 days there. The home is enormous and beautiful, but the pièce de résistance is the stunning pool and garden. The landscaping is thoughtful and perfect—truly a paradise. The pool is very large and well maintained. It seems magically so, but it comes down to the care and diligence of Licho, the onsite property manager, who I saw discreetly cleaning the pool before dawn. The pool temp is perfect. From reading in the shallows to dodgeball, we enjoyed it multiple times a day. The garden has so many special places to sit that our biggest vacation challenge was adequately taking advantage of them all. Our favourite was the bird watching platform which somehow always managed to be largely shaded, and got a light breeze being perched over a large hill. We moved the rocking chairs there, under the umbrella and saw loads of birds- macaws, parrots, parakeets, toucans, hummingbirds, tanagers, great kiskadees, and more —plus howler monkeys. We also particularly loved: lunching in the rancho; the sofa area by the pool; and the hammocks. Licho and Darling are lovely people. Always there for you while affording you total privacy. We enjoyed Darling’s meals, especially her guacamole and pico de gallo. Each bed/ensuite is comfortable, large and has ample storage. Location is perfect--close to Uvita but doesn’t feel so. The home was clearly designed and built as a labour of love. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Amazing property

I’m almost at a loss about where to start. The home owner has thought of everything. There is nothing we wanted for. Outdoor and indoor spaces were lovely. The pool area alone made the stay worth it. So many birds to see from the viewing deck. Toucans coming very close. A great meal from Darling, and licho was so friendly and helpful, even bringing a generator when the power was out for several hours. And their little cat added to our enjoyment. Thanks so much. We will be back!!
