It’s a horrendous shame that such a lovely property with incredible rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast and convenient location has such HORRIBLE parking. The city runs the parking lot. You have to pay to park which I can accept. You also have in and out privileges. Now that seems really straight forward except the parking lot over lord doesn’t care. So if you leave he will IMMEDIATELY fill your spot and if you come back there’s a large chance they won’t have a spot for you in the lot you PAID to park in as a hotel guest. Every night is “event parking” and the entire area is just a huge mess. Not because of traffic but because 80 people are trying to cram into a 40 car lot where they’re being double parked. Even better is that the hotel tells the parking folks how many guest they have coming and they still DONT CARE. The city owning the lot doesn’t even matter. But the fact that there’s 0 protection for the $28 a night parking you already paid for if you happen to leave the lot during the day.
I would love to come back. It was such a lovely place they were so kind and accommodating especially with my oxygen tank concerns. But this parking lot makes it a no go. It’s a shame because the rooms are an antique fans dream. I hope they fix it so I can come back again soon.
