"We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel and were impressed with the facilities and friendly staff. We returned for the 2nd time having also enjoyed our first stay. Love the views of Torbay and the internal architecture and furnishings of the hotel. It was a shame that the outdoor pool was closed but enjoyed the indoor pool / spa facilities."

"The hotel was on the sea front, rooms were spacious and the bathroom had a walk in shower. Breakfast was good and the evening meal was very tasty. The price was reasonable and I’d recommend this hotel"

"The place is just walking distance to the harbour, restaurants and shops. Breakfast are good. Comfy bed. The only worst thing is it smells so bad everytime we open the door going in, it’s only that part immediately open the door from outside. I don’t know where it is coming from bcoz it don’t smell in the toilet, not inside the room. Only upon opening the room, maybe from the vent. I didn’t bother to inform the staff in reception as smell fades away. I should have really. We stayed in room 208....

"Arrived and greeted by the most incredibly kind staff. They really couldnt have given us any more to make us feel welcome. Want to give a huge thanks to Robin on reception. My husband has a neck injury and the staff even offered to get pain medications from the local Pharmacist for us. The food in 1881 resturant within the grand hotel was delicious and served by Felix. What a kind gentleman he was also. Even making my young boy happy by giving him free mocktails! Both inside and outsoor pools...

"Todo bien. La habitacion amplia. Buena atencion del personal. En general el hotel es antiguo, deberian mejorarse las instalaciones. No estaba disponible el restaurante, unicamente el bar. internet solo en recepcion."
