"I was at a music festival and it was hot. Looked up motel in the area. Everything in town full. 9 miles away I found this little place. Reviews were not great but I was done camping. Arrived to a newly outside painted, signed in, went to the room and it was newly painted, new flooring, new fixtures in bathroom and furniture. Air conditioner new and was great relief. Manager went out of his way to ask if everything was ok every time I returned. Review trolls be damned..get a life. "

"This is a very old, historical hotel so don't expect fancy amenities. However, it is very well kept up and comfortable. The staff are all very sweet and the room includes delicious pastries and coffee each morning down in their hotel lobby. The saloon has great food at night plus there's a great hamburger place or Thai restaurant just down the street. It IS haunted so have fun reading up on all of that history!!"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Albaugh family guest house. The views were amazing. There is a great view of Mt Shasta and Mt Lassen. We enjoyed watching the cows move around in the pasture. A convenient location. We would stay again"

"Great communication. Manager checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The house was as described. Well stocked and very comfortable. Great place in a beautiful setting. Quiet and comfortable street out of town but very close and easy to get to town. Amazing host! Awesome stay! The house was warmed and ready to go upon arrival. 5 stars well earned."

In addition, the size of this vacation rental was more than enough for us. In fact, we have family living in Alturas and visit them from Denver at least twice a year!
