"If you know me, you know I love to explore places that *might* have ghosts, so when the chance to stay at a hotel built in the late 1800's presents itself, I take it. Every time, without question. The Decker may not be haunted, but it is like stepping into the past. The plush red carpet, old wooden details, and Tiffany style lamps accenting the staircase all transport you back to another time. "The hotel/casino allows smoking through out the building, so even though the overall cleanliness was good, the smoke was embedded throughout the hotel & casino. They put us in a room right across from the laundry room. The staff was talking very loud, laughing and making lots of noise at 6:00 in the morning right outside our room. Very low rating for that On a positive note, they did have a free breakfast buffet that was very good."

"The mattress was awful and needs to be replaced. The pillows were awful and need to be replaced. The intermittent screech coming from the Air conditioning unit was awful and needs to be repaired or replaced. Unfortunately, we couldn't get out of the hotel fast enough."

I was concerned that the neighborood on the dock might be a whoop-it-up loud all-night-long kind of party crowd (and I am VERY boring), but everyone was going-out-of-their way charming and kind. Overall - it was lovely. Highly recommend it. Perfect getaway. "

"Nice place not far from the river! Friendly host and safe neighborhood, perfect place to wind down after our work event. The deck was nice to have at nighttime, it was very quiet and peaceful in the neighborhood."

"It looked like it had just been remodeled. It was so clean and it was obvious much was spent to have everything matching. It was great being back in our hometown with my two brothers and their spouses."

"The owners of this Boatel have clearly taken great pains to think of everything you might need for your stay. They are very helpful and communicative which was very appreciated. My girls had never been on this type of boat before and had a blast. There is plenty to do in the area and we found this to be a great landing spot for hiking in the state park or shopping in Bellevue or Savannah. "
