Birthday getaway

Great time in a beautiful property! The view was amazing. The access was phenomenal. The check in/out process was a little irritating due to trying to figure out the drop box situation, but that did not have an affect on the great time we had! Will definitely be reserving again in the near future!

Wonderful Condo!

Such a wonderful place to stay! They had plenty of cookware, nice view, gorgeous decor. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because the Master Bed is pretty hard. Some love a hard bed but we did not. Overall it was a great experience. Our family loved the pool area the most.

This is a wonderful place to vacation. Beautiful views, great location, private beach was a huge plus. We loved The Sandbar and their staff! Grounds were very well groomed and the condo had plenty of space. The couch had feather pillows, high end fabric curtains and pillow covers. The bedding was nice too. We will definitely be staying there again!

Gulf Front Condo

Beautiful Condo with 3 BR and 3 Baths. Loved the living area with big comfortable couch & deck. Very nice pool area w hot tub & playground for young kids. My main complaint is you must have a card key to get the elevator to go to your condo since the elevator opens directly inside your condo. They initially only gave us 2 keys for 5 adults & 2 kids. After complaining, I did eventually get 1 more key but that was all they would give us. It was ridiculous that each adult could not have a key to leave the condo. Going back & forth to the beach/pool, we had to go in groups to make it work. It was inconvenient when people went different directions at different times. People had to "share" a key so we left 1 key by the door for someone to take to run an errand. If you left the condo without a key, you could not get back in the condo. You better have your cell phone so you could call someone to come bring you up! We were on the 14th floor. The property manager said the HOA only allowed 1 key per 2 adults. If you rent a condo which holds 8 people, they should have given us at least 4 keys for that condo. We have never experienced this problem before. I asked for brighter light bulbs for one of the BR that had 2 lamps with a very low wattage bulb. The room was very dark at night & hard to see in your suitcase/drawers. I was told that they could not give us a brighter bulb. I bought a portable light to use for the remainder of our stay so I could see in our room.

The Best Beach Getaway’s staff are amazing, from start to finish they went out of their way to assist us when we arrived earlier than expected. The master bath shower is unbelievable and steam room. My only advice would be to upgrade the WI-FI “way to much buffering” ditch the Dish network and upgrade all the TV’s to smart TV’s. This way all guests could stream whatever apps they want. Still overall my favorite condo at Silver Shells.

It was a very nice condo. However when arrived it was not cleaned very well. I had to clean all the floors and windows were cleaned as high as they could reach. It could use some paint touch up as well. Overall we truly enjoyed this condo and the master bath is incredible.

Time for the owners to come and see what’s going on……

We were prepared to love it, but the dust and grime was too much. I was grabbing dirty dishes out of the cupboard, writing my name in the dust on most surfaces and cringing at the stains on the chairs and pillows. Bedding was marginal, but the comforters stained and just plain gross. The lamps and light fixtures either didn’t work or had burned out lightbulbs. It’s definitely time for the owners to come back and try to live there for a week. We would bet they wouldn’t last more than a day.

We absolutely love Silver Shells and had another fabulous week in Destin. The pool is spectacular and the beach/gulf is just amazing! I would suggest a few items to add to the condo…plastic cups to take drinks to the pool, a keurig, some plastic containers with lids for food storage, beach towels, small cooler, would be nice for guests who fly in. We left a couple noodles and an umbrella so hopefully the next guest can enjoy them. Overall it was a perfect week!

Nice place

My biggest con of this place is having to drive 30minutes out of the way to get the keys. No complaints on cleanliness, not perfect but ok. Steam room was awesome and we loved all the shower heads but the hot water heater only lasts about 5minutes. Huge condo upgrades not shown in photos are amazing. Kids love each having their own balcony! Would love to come back but the price has raised and nearly made it impossible.

Great Place

Overall the place was great. The condo was very nice and had a very nice view on the 14th floor. We were happy with the condo. The only negative is the chair rentals. The prices for the chairs are very high and they only open rental place at 9:30 so it’s almost impossible to get there and reserve a set of chairs where you want to be. Also, the ice maker didn’t work and that would have been nice to have all week. Other than that it was a great stay.

Terrible communication

This is the 2nd year staying at this unit, it is a perfect layout & newly renovated, however the only form of communication with the host of the unit is by VRBO messenger. They told me both years that they had sent me our check in info via email and I never received it when they said they sent it (also checked spam etc, and it wasn’t there) when we got to the separate location to pick up our room keys, there were no keys in the lock box, and no one on site to help. So we ended up sitting outside on the phone trying to contact someone because we had no way of getting in to our room. Patio was not clean at all and I ended up having to mop the floor and clean off the outdoor tables. My in laws also found cat hair and toys under their bed. We love Destin and the Silver Shells resort but we won’t be renting through Best Beach Getaways anymore!

The property was nice! Great location and amazing views!! Beautiful beach!!! Condo is quite large and pretty! Needs a deep clean for sure!! Three adult friends staying and I registered them all, but the property manage only had 2 keys! It was a serious hassle when we needed to come and go, someone always had to be available to let one in!!

Fantastic place Horrible management

The place is amazing. It’s even more updated than the pics. Location and view almost can’t get any better. I really can’t say enough about the place. The management company though was horrible. No one answers the phone. You have to leave a message and hope someone gets back to. They have such a lack of communication. It was such a disappointment. We were afraid that we weren’t going to have a place to stay after booking well in advanced and fully paid. I hope they can work this out as I see others had similar issues.

First day not good. But after that a good visit.

Had to drive and extra 40 minutes round trip out of our way to pick up key cards to rental. Then key cards did not work. They put the wrong cards in the envelope. Could not use amenities prior to getting corrected. Was after 5:30. Then washed a load of clothes to only find our dryer was clogged with lent. Could have been a fire hazard.. But was fixed within 5 hours of being reported. Lights in master closet and master hall between closest where not working. Asked for lights bulbs to be replaced the first full day there but that never happened. Shower was nice but was hard to keep water from running out into the bath floor. Condo was nice otherwise. Great view.

A great stay

Our stay was amazing. Everyone from grandparents to kids had a great time. The location is amazing as we were steps away from pool and beach but also a short drive from many attractions and restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised that the condo was actually more updated than the pictures that were listed. The only issue was it was hard to get in contact with the property manger and the check out instructions were a little vague but all in all it was a great stay. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
