Beautiful property but will never work with Compass Rentals again
Firstly, the accommodations, the condo and the Silver Shells property are gorgeous and pristine. The condo was perfectly laid out so that everyone felt they had space. And the view was incredible, we saw dolphins every day.
What wasn't incredible was the way Compass handled our check-in process. Because of a flight issue, we missed our initial flight to Florida and weren't able to come until the next day. I let compass know that my father would still be arriving that night and to expect him. They asked for his name and that was it.
When my dad got there, he had no idea where to go, there was no one in the Compass Office, and no one answered the phone for over 30 minutes. Meanwhile, my dad is walking back in forth in a rain storm with 30mph winds just to find someone to help him. Finally the guard who operates the gate helped my dad.
When I asked Compass if there was a way we could stay in our condo an extra day since we missed a day, they curtly replied "no". When asked if there was another Compass property within Silver Shells we could move to, I was again met with a terse, "There's a three night minimum stay." From beginning to end, they were NOT there to help us. Even getting the wi-fi passcode took a 20 phone call.
Loved Destin, loved the condo and the location, but would purposely go out go my way to never work with Compass again.
