Vacation Fun

We really enjoyed the house and its neighborhood. The furniture needs to updated. The mother-in-law house the bed needed some fixing. Overall we had a great vacation!

Best Prom Weekend Ever!

I and another parent took our daughters and their friends to Ocean Breezes for two nights during their senior prom weekend. The home was exactly what we needed. The additional carriage house was the perfect location for the smaller group of boys who came with us while we (the girls) stayed in main house. Love that the house was sound proof practically to the outside. There was definitely some noticeable wear and tear but nothing to exclude or dampen our stay. We did notice a musty/mildew smell in the carriage house, but a plug-in and some citrus odor spray did wonders for that. Overall we would definitely recommend this property AND RealJoy vacations.

DIRTY HOUSE

For the amount you spend to stay at this house, it is absolutely disgusting. The showers have black all throughout the grout, roaches found throughout the house, several spiders killed as well. They sent a person to “clean” the house the day after we checked in and we had to explain to the person why a counter top had to be recleaned after he had already “cleaned it” but the dead fly that was there when we originally got there was still on the “cleaned” counter. Garage doors did not work and had to be opened manually. There is truly only parking for 2 small - midsize vehicles. Requesting the cleaning fee to be refunded because the place was NOT in acceptable cleaning condition. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper if you have a large group or you will run out and bring your own trash bags because only 1 extra thin trash bag was provided. Honestly don’t trust the sheets were even changed either. Truly disappointing for how much was spent to stay here.

Large group stay

Great for a big group. Some items on property were broken when we arrived and our A/C was blowing hot air. They came out and fixed within a couple of hours. Mattresses could be more comfortable. But overall, great stay.

ROACHES!

This house has a roach infestation that was so bad we were unable to use the living room not get a good night sleep. They came out at night and were all over the property. We reported the issue to the property manager (RealJoy) and they were extremely slow in looking into the issue and their response was inadequate. Although it was confirmed by a professional that there were indeed roaches, the property manager would only agree to reimburse the cleaning fee!! In addition to the roaches, the mattresses were stained and old in every bedroom, there was an unflushed poop in one of the toilets when we arrived, there were only 6 forks for the entire household to use and we had to rig the coffee pot just to use it without overflowing. The public beach access is close but be warned, you and all of your neighbors are forced to squeeze into a beach space that doesn’t allow room for beach games. We ended up going to Henderson Public Beach which was beautiful. I do not recommend this house and will certainly never rent from RealJoy ever again.

Great location

Great location, with its own private pool and just a short walk to the beach that our two young kids could handle. The only thing I would suggest to change would be the comfort of all the mattresses.

50th Anniversary Celebration

We had a group of 14 that stayed at this property and had plenty of room! It was very nice and clean. The location is great. I do recommend renting a golf cart. We would definitely rent this house again!!!!!

Vacation 2021

We had a great time making memories with our children and grandchildren. The beach was a short walk from the house and some of the clearest water I.ve seen in Florida. The pool was a hit with the family. It was a great vacation stay.

We enjoyed our stay we had a few issues. The first night the refrigerator in the main house was not working we checked in on a Saturday and had called the property management company 4 times to have it fixed they sent out a company who was great but unfortunately it didn’t fix the problem finally 3 days later they brought a new fridge however it was placed in the dining area which took up a lot of room. It was a huge inconvenience going back and forth to the carriage house for refrigerator items. A couple maintenance issues need to be addressed. Light in laundry room wouldn’t turn on right away. Some handles on the glass door in the master bath were almost falling off. It isn’t disclosed that the public beach access is only about 50 yards of beach as the rest is all private which sucked but we were only a short drive to the state park which the beach was beautiful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay minus the refrigerator The place was in a great location and fit us all perfectly.

Pool never worked as promised

We arrived on Saturday and the pool heater was not working- called 2 times to ask why. Answer - starter needs to be replaced. Tuesday the Pool pump/motor blew. No pool the entire week. We wanted the pool for our toddler children. True Joy still has not give us compensation for the lack of a functioning pool. Renovation is fine however why not replace carpet and all or most of the windows have broken seals. Cannot look outside! Overall it’s just OK

Beware of renting

We are currently staying at one of the properties in Crystal Beach. Our check in date was 5/24. We were assured extra cleaning measures would be in place due to the current Covid situation. Upon arriving, we found our rental property absolutely disgusting. Not only were no extra cleaning measures taken, there was not even standard procedures done. The only thing that had done to the property prior to our arriving was new toiletries had been set out. There were hairs in every shower, the floors in the entire house still had sticky residue on them, the kitchen counters had crumbs all over them, the bathroom counters were sticky and grimy. We had to wash all the towels due to hairs being on them and bedding as well. The pool also had sun glasses, a debit card and trash lying in the bottom of it, as well as a beer can and trash in the filter. The carriage house was also disgusting. It had not been cleaned at all either. Dirty laundry was found in 2 of the beds, so that means the bedding was not changed at all from the past guests. The floor had not been vacuumed, the sink doesn’t drain, food left in cabinets and the entire place clearly not cleaned at all. My husband and I had to immediately go spend $100 in cleaning supplies out of our pocket plus spend 2 hours before our other guests arrived to clean the house. I called the emergency maintenance number and waited on hold for 30 minutes the day of check in and just to be told “Sorry for the inconvenience and they would have someone to the house at 10am the next day to clean “again” “. No one ever showed up as promised. On top of all that, there is no beach view as described in the property description and photos. And the public beach area was a joke as far as size. This has most certainly been out first and last time renting a property with this company. Beware of renting.

Only thing that needs changed online is the picture of the ocean view from the front of the house, it is no longer a ocean view, because of new condos going up, taking the place of the ocean view!

We have a been dissatisfied/disappointed with this trip. First the gun that was left in the closet that one of the kids could have found to the beach area that was such a small square to have on the beach for all the people who rents these house was horrible. Parking should have been explained better. we was told there would be extra parking at an over flow parking space and 2 times I called and talked about the over flow space and even ask could we park our boat the our boat trailer in it and they said no hoa will not allow it. then on the day we got there we was told the over flow space didnt exist and we could park our vehicles in a public parking lot. Ridiculous We would have booked another home if we would have known ..the grounds had a horrible smell that my mother and dad left the guest house 2 days early very unhappy. thankfully we brought the boat and found our own beach. We travel every year sometimes twice a year. this is the first time in 10 yrs I have just had to apologize to my family for this vacation

Needs maintenance

This house was a great house for my salons beach retreat. BUT There was a lot of things that needed attention inside the house.washing machine, bathroom fixtures , dining table was not sturdy,dishes and utensils were spotty .. the closest Beach access is so tiny and was so crowded when we were there for the holiday had to walk a little further distance but wasn’t a bad location overall.

Great Beach House!

We had a great time at this beach house, it was so close to the beach, just a quick walk across the street, the pool in the back yard was awesome for the kids, although we could not figure out how to turn on the pool light..otherwise the house was very clean, very big, it had enough room to fit our entire group, I have no complaints at all, and I'm sure we will be back in the future!
