Beautiful house

Very beautiful house and very close to the beautiful beach.When renting this place plan on buying everything you need such as the simplest things.... salt, pepper, any spice you want, cooking oils, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels and toilet paper. Also very limited on kitchen towels. We also heated the pool which was an added expense but very well worth it.

Peace & Serenity

Very quiet, calm, relaxing space with lots of parking space. Well stock and equipped with quality appliances and furniture. Closs to shopping outlets and almost dirctly across from the beach. The pool was awesome & cool

Destin Getaway Trip

Overall the house itself was nice, 3 stories helped out a lot with accommodating my whole family. Everybody had enough room for themselves. Now, the backyard, the pool was dirty mainly because it had a palm tree right next to it that was dropping its seeds in it. There were a bunch of ants by the pool and chairs. The grill didn’t really work, it’s almost as if the gas line wasn’t working right. Overall the house was great but the pool area needs work.

Long Sunny Weekend

Great location. Wonderful floor plan for 4 couples and 3 kids. Five bathrooms. Each couple had a large bedroom and bathroom to themselves. The ‘kids’ room and bath is amazing. Stylish decor. The 2nd floor is a duplicate of the first floor with a full kitchen, living room, and laundry room. We paid to have the pool heated. It was nice and warm when we arrived. The kids spent hours in the pool. Property managers communicated just enough info at the right times. The property needs some maintenance. The 2nd floor kitchen sink (or dishwasher) must have a leak. It was very moldy/musty on the 2nd floor. For health reasons, we slept with the windows open at night. The landscaping had not been tended to in a long time. Several kitchen door cabinets will not close. The back sidewalk by the pool is cracked and has sunk into the sand a bit. We all wish there had been a few more staples left for us. This was the inventory: One roll of toilet paper per bathroom. A partial roll of paper towel. One small bottle of dish soap upstairs. None down. Maybe 2 dishwasher tablets. No laundry soap. Only 1 extra kitchen garbage bag downstairs. No extras downstairs. It seems we were all making trips to the store for extras. We do not expect a ton of extras, but certainly more for a house accommodating 11 people.

Property was very nice and clean but downstairs kitchen had bad odor smell. Some maintenance issues we found when we arrived but we call company and they came out next day and fix it.

Great Stay!

The Stella di Mare was a great choice for our family vacation. This home was well equipped for 4 families with multiple kids and a very quick and easy walk to the beach! We would definitely stay here again. My only suggestion is to consider more lighting in the back yard.

Perfect for large family/multiple families

We absolutely loved this house and all the room we had. The 3rd floor bunk room was perfect for the 6 kids and the adults had plenty of space throughout the rest of the house. Our only complaint was the front and back deck. We had so many splinters and nail injuries to feet the first day we had to make sure that the kids constantly had their shoes on when going out there. It also would have been nice to have some more lighting in the backyard at night. We truly loved the house though.

Beautiful!

Large Beautiful home! Everything was wonderful, the property management company was great to communicate with! My only recommendation is outdoor lighting, there was half a strand of lights and kids wanted to do a night swim but I think it was too dark for the amount of kids we had to keep an eye on. We would definitely come back!

Beach Access

I enjoyed the space that was available at the property. They are building housing next door, and the bathroom window is open so I would recommend a window covering. Also, they beach access isn't totally clear. Access to the beach is not clear so it would be helpful to know we would be asked to find another location which wasn't far from the house but also not the closest access to the house. Overall very good visit.

Great family vacation

Our family was one of three families with children from ages 3-11 that stayed together for five nights at Crystal Beach. This is the second year that we've stayed in this house and we lived it both times. The proximity to the beach, the pool in the backyard and the size of the house were perfect for us. We had a few small issues with the house and the property management company responded in a timely fashion to all issues.

Excellent proximity to the beach!

We had 4 families in our group staying at Stella di Mare (7 adults and 9 kids ranging from 4 to 16. The layout was absolutely perfect. Each couple had their own room with king size beds & their own private bathroom (2 on ground floor & 2 on the 2nd floor). The 3rd floor had an additional bathroom & a massive bunk room with 8 twin beds. There were two kitchens (one on the ground floor- where everything was mainly stocked & one on the second floor). The extra oven & coffee pot on the second floor made cooking for a large group much easier. Having two laundy areas was extremely handy too, also located on the ground & 2nd floor. Proximity to the beach could not have been better. It is an easy walk even with small children. We loved having a pool on site. It is smaller, but all 9 kids were in at the same time & didn't seem to mind. There is a covered deck with plenty of chairs, which I appreciated. The deck itself does need work. Several of our kiddos ended up with splinters, so we had to really watch the smaller kids, making sure they put their shoes on before coming on the deck. One thing that was a little rough... There is construction going on next door. They start pretty early & we actually choose to leave during the day a few times because of the noise. The workers did finish up the day fairly decent...usually around 4pm-ish. I know that is out of the control of the management team, but it is something to keep in mind if staying at this location anytime soon. I can not brag enough about the property managers at RealJoy. We had several issues during our stay and they were amazing! From the big things like the t.v. cable & internet line being cut from the construction next door to simply needing a broom they were on top of it. This company was super responsive with the small things as much as they were with the big things! Overall we had a great stay & even though I wouldn't stay in this exact location in the near future because of the construction, I would absolutely stay in another RealJoy managed property. They were amazing!

Upon arrival the house had no water (no use of sinks, toilets, or showers). I called and emailed the property managers immediately to have a maintenance man scheduled to come out ( ETA one hour). No one showed for 5 hours and we called the property manager each 1.5 hours no one showed. At this point it’s 9 PM and the maintenance man reports that he thinks the owners did not pay the water bill and that he could figure out a work around. At this point, I was worried we wouldn’t get water back and called VRBO directly who had wonderful customer service and was ready to place us in a hotel for the evening. Because of our large group, I decided to give the maintenance man his chance to fix the problem and he did eventually. We made sure all water in the house was working when we noticed the A/C on the 2nd floor was not working. Maintenance man thought he fixed it but an hour went by and it was getting warmer. We called back to property managers and set up A/C man to come out at 830am and have fans delivered that night. As we prepared for bed we notice cable/internet was also not working. We reported this to property managers that next morning. A/C man showed up at 830am and fixed the 2nd floor A/C. I called on our 2nd day to speak with a manager at the property managers company. I called 3 times that day each time being told I would be called back by a manager. My last call that day I was told both managers had left for the day because they didn’t feel well but no one could sent me a text/email to say they will follow back up with me tomorrow. Instead I spent my time out on the beach waiting by my phone for a call that wasn’t going to come. I went to pick up dinner for my group and received a call from a manager that was on PTO. She arranged to get our 1st night compensated but at this point I spent 2 of my 3.5 days of vacation dealing with this company. 3rd day it was confirmed cable/internet was not working so we were compensated for that too. Also we found 5 dead roaches throughout the house which showed the house wasn’t cleaned too recently.

The Perfect House

House was unbelievable. Fit our family of 12 perfectly. Could not ask for a better rental. Beach access was great, but, and not the fault of the home owners, was a little hard to deal with. Getting to the beach was easy. But, I guess the umbrella rental owners are on the city council or county commission. They have exclusive rights for umbrellas. So the only access for those accessing the public section, who want to use their own umbrellas, is a 40 foot swath of beach from boardwalk to water. Makes for a very crowded beach experience. But we did get to know some great people. Oh, if only I could get this house with a little room to spread out on the beach.

Real review

First off the house is just not clean. It’s filthy. The layout is good, the set up is cool but the cleanliness was horrible. We expected someone to come shock the pool or clean it and it never happened. We couldn’t figure out how to use the remote controls for fans, we callled but no one could help us or called back to help us. We went to Walmart to buy fans. No batteries in remotes. Would not rent this house again. Smelled like someone had a dog there before us. The third floor smelled like dog pee and the rugs were covered in dog hair We also bought a broom for house Bc there wasn’t one provided and the floors hadn’t been touched.

Great house for families

Stella di mare is a beautiful house in a really great location. Our family of six rented the house with two other families. We had six adults and ten children and the house was just perfect for our group. The highlights were the back yard/deck/pool area and the proximity to the beach. It really is a very easy little walk over to the beach, even for young children. At the time of our stay, there was even a wagon with Beach supplies, which was super handy. My only warning is that if you are someone who is particular about the finer details, this may not be the house (or property management company?) That's right for you. When we arrived, the keypad was not working quite right and after a few days quit all together. I contacted the management company and they said someone would come the next day, which never happened. Since we were leaving the following day, it did not feel worth my time to continue trying to contact them, we just dealt with it as it was. There were also other small details that weren't the greatest, like one of the boards on the deck steps was broken and pulled up off of the deck when we arrived, so we just had to make sure the kids walked around it, rather than using those steps. Similarly, the kitchens were stocked, but some key items were missing like a frying pan large enough to suit a large family, or a working can opener, and we constantly felt like we were trying to scrounge together enough bowls plates and cups for everyone. The downstairs bathroom adjoining one of the bedrooms and the laundry room / hallway also did not have a lock on the door into the laundry room, which just seems like a really poor oversight for a bathroom that has two entry points. All in all, any complaints we had about the house, we're overridden by the highlights of the house. We were in a group of people who were happy to just be flexible when there was a problem, and all agreed that we would rent the house again.

Holiday Family Gathering

It was perfect accommodations to fit the needs of two senior citizens, 4 adults and 4 teenagers (between he ages of 13 to 16). The seniors had everything they needed on the first floor and the teens had their private area in the loft. Having two full kitchens was fabulous especially when we were cooking for Thanksgiving dinner. The walk to the beach was short which made it easy and convenient. The back yard was smaller than expected but we still enjoyed sitting out there as a family, having the pool and basketball “court.” It truly felt like a home away from home! A few suggestions: A bigger hot water tank. Many had cold showers more than once if we didn’t strategize and stagger showers. Leave a broom accessible for guests. It would have been nice to be able to sweep sand up during our stay. More air condition in the loft. The kids were super hot up there when the temperature outside was 80.
