We booked through VRBO but were not able to pay for it on VRBO site. This is odd because what am I paying VRBO a fee for if it is all managed outside of the site. The host/mgmt company sent me an invoice via my email when I booked with no indication that it still needed paid. I assumed it had already been paid through my VRBO account. A few days before arrival I received an urgent email that they needed payment or it might be canceled. I contacted VRBO with concerns and they were little help. I contacted the host and proceeded to receive several links to make payment that did not work through VRBO and email. I finally called and had to receive several additional links through VRBO and email that did not work. The host employee then had to send the link via text which finally worked. I have never had so much hassle just trying to pay for a VRBO. When we went to check-in, I had not received an access code the day of arrival so I contacted the host again. I had paid an additional 90 to check-in early at 1pm, which they had no record of, so I had to forward that email to them to prove I had paid for it. We could not actually get in at 1pm because housekeeping was still in the property. Once we actually got in we were told that we could not use the main bathroom as there was a leak going into the unit below. I understand that issues happen but this lead to us not being able to use the bathroom the entire stay,people in the unit every day and no hot water for a whole day.
