The host Sarah Wilson was very helpful with arrival. Great place, wonderful staff and the heated pool and hot tubs were fantastic Lush landscaping, beautiful place to walk in this upscale area.

Vacation 2025

Excellent location for shopping and dinning. Fabulous gulf view. Loved that it was only a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Kitchen was a little small and outdated but was adequate. Master bathroom toilet was noisy after flushing and the bathroom sink drained slow. Overall though it was a good experience!

When we arrived and opened the door we were hit in the face with a strong musty mildew smell in the condo. It reminded me of an old wet basement. (My sister also travelled here and stayed on the 5th floor and her room smelled the same. So this isn't just this condo, it's the whole building.)We brought in our luggage and kicked off our shoes only to find sand sticking to our feet. I understand that we are close to the beach, but the room should not have sand on the floor when we first walk in. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean thankfully. At the end of our first day we got into our bed and found sand in the sheets. This was very off putting and worried me that our sheets were not new and clean. They smelled and looked okay but had sand in them. I'm praying it was from maybe the dryer and they weren't shake out propertly. My children were too scared to get under their sheets so they slept on top of the bed with their own blankets. The only other thing i found to be odd was that there was no pizza pan or pizza cutter in the condo. Overall, the condo was okay. The view was not great because it's only on the second level and you can't see the beach, but you can still see the ocean out far. **We did find out that anyone who booked directly with the Islander got daily beach chairs and umbrella included, but since we booked through VRBO we did not get that luxury. It costs 55 per day to rent them.

As advertised

Fantastic location on the Destin beaches. Amenities are easy to access, the boardwalk is right there, and the views are spectacular. Condo is well pointed with kitchen utensils and cookware. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Location and Property

We really enjoyed our most recent vacation to this property. The entire facility was well maintained and had great access to all Destin has to offer. The second-floor unit had great views of the Gulf and was easy to access using the stairs. We will definitely keep this location in mind when we plan future vacations!

Amazing location, cozy space!

Our stay was amazing. The location could not be any better for a get away with my husband and our best friends. The condo is cozy and welcoming, although the beds are not comfortable. The process was easy and check in and check out was a breeze! I loved that there were luggage carts to help get bags up to the condo, that made loading and unloading quick and easy. We would definitely stay again.

Overall; great stay

Overall; great stay- we would book again. Cons were having to pick up the access bands at another location before checking in, but it was close so not too inconvenient. Would be great if you could just get these at the front desk. The unit was very clean and just as described, my only constructive observation was that the floor didn’t seem to have been thoroughly cleaned. We wore socks around the condo and the bottoms were pretty dingy after a short period of time.

Fun all in one

We loved this place! The process to check in was smooth and easy. The condo was pretty much as described and very clean. The pools were nice and heated. We loved the close access to the beach just past the pool and over a bridge. Great location which nice and quiet but just a short 10 minute drive to many restaurants and shops. It was a perfect destination for our family.

Overall pleased, but a few minor cons

Just want to list out the pros and cons for others considering this rental. Overall, this was a nice place but just like to review so others know what to expect. Pros: on the beach, balcony view, proximity to pool, very clean unit, master bath, guest room as nice as master, quiet part of island, not too overcrowded on spring break Cons: only 8 towels for 4 people (we asked front desk for more-they said no, no beach towels included even though they are shown in vrbo pics, the pickle ball courts your condo overlooks aren’t the ones for you-they’re for a different complex (you do have some in the parking lot-gets pretty hot over there), the location is not walkable to restaurants-closest is Louisiana Lagnpipe (great restaurant, but you it’s a little over a mile away) Overall it was a great week!! Thank you!

Perfect location

Absolutely perfect location for a family trip to experience everything Destin. The rooms were spacious and the amenities were a timely convenience. Only complaint is of cleanliness, being mindful of my cleanliness standards. Bathrooms could have used a little more attention in the showers. There was a bit of reminiscence of prior visitors that was a little off putting. Other than that it was as close to perfection as you could wish for.

Great condo in Destin

We had a great time at the Islander in Destin. Overall the unit was very clean and presentable. The kitchen was well stocked and only missing a few things. The heated pools / grounds were great and it was wonderful to only be a short walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

Beautiful family vacation on the beach!

We had such a wonderful time. The condo had everything we needed. The only thing I would do differently is bring our own chairs for the beach. If you rent them it’s $46 the first day then $41 after that. We definitely will be back to the Islander🏖
