This house was fabulous and a great location for our family to celebrate Christmas. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, the bedrooms/bathrooms were great and there was enough seating for our extended family to enjoy time together. We enjoyed using the heated pool and it’s just a short walk to enjoy the beautiful beaches. Highly recommend!!

We really enjoyed this home and pool. It was good in every way. We had 10 people and we were very comfortable. Great location. We rented golf carts and barely drove our cars. Would definitely go back. The host was very good.

Perfect vacation stay!

The perfect location at a beautiful property with the most gracious host is right here! A short drive to nearly all of the best attractions and excursions, yet snug away in a private cove for your own quiet paradise. We have stayed at plenty of places but Calvin was by far the best host we have ever had. So thoughtful from check-in to clear communication our entire stay, the perfect host.The short walk to the private beach was even better with all of the beach accessories available for us to use at the house. Pack a color and head out to the beautiful sand without the crowd at the private beach. A first time for our kids to be there was perfect!! I highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone, especially with Calvin hosting you!

Lovely home. Huge kitchen and dining room table. Beds very comfortable. Pool was just the right size for our six grands. Lots of toys for beach and pool available with beach wagon and beach chairs. The beach is just a short walk. There were six kids and eight adults and the place was plenty big and comfortable for us. Will consider it again if we end up there next year. No dish towels so bring them if you can.

Labor Day Getaway

Great location on a dead end street, walking distance to the beach. Owner is very responsive. Check in/ Check out process was very easy. My overall rating is a 5. My only complaint is the listing says 6 bedrooms but should realistically be listed as a 5 full bedrooms with an additional bonus room.

Nice Location

Check in was easy. Great location. House was very spacious. we did run into a few issues along the way. The property manager was very kind and addressed the issues immediately. I will say the AC does work very well. Pool is great aside from the pesty frogs LOL! But it is Florida😀😀 we really enjoyed our stay. We would gladly book again, if given the opportunity.

Spring Break

We had a great time coming to Destin for Spring Break! This house was so clean and comfortable and had a great location! We heated the pool which was really nice since the weather was a little cooler. I would definitely book here again!!

Four States Family

We arrived about 15 minutes early, but were able to get in. (NICE) We traveled from MD., NC., SC., and TX. Eight adults and 7 grands. Plenty of space and bunk beds were just enough for the kids all under age 8. It is a longer walk to the beach than we expected and we ended up using the public access beach because we wanted to put up our tent. The private side was great for adults/partners :) The house - it would have been nice to have a case of water on site already and we had to clean the grease pan from the grill. The pool was just enough for the kids, we used it a LOT :)

Fantastic Beach Vacation

House was well stocked with everything we needed. We asked for additional wine glasses and the host quickly made them available. The pool was a huge plus. After a day at the beach, cooling off in the pool (afternoon shade!) was just the thing to keep all of our group happy until dinner time.

Best 4th July Ever

Location in quiet neighborhood with mature trees and plants, 3 minute walk to beach. Could have been a half block closer for us but okay overall. The pool after the beach was nice as it was hot and high humidity. Beach toys provided by host were great and kids learned to boogie board. Host was very responsive. Location was the best part of this lovely home. Comfortable beds. The driving was a little hectic at times, but patience and a little luck never hurts. Toads were very loud at night I am sure this is not a always thing. Most beautiful Beach I have ever seen. Not crowded because it is private for you and some others. Great family friendly home and again, location, location, location. Loved making forever memories here

Great Location, accurate listing

A legitimate easy walk to a finely manicured private beach where you can rent umbrellas for $60/day or bring your own. The listing is accurate and the house is in great condition. Quiet, dead-end street with no traffic. Very reasonable check-out day procedures. Negatives, none of which would stop me from booking again: barking tree frogs! They are comically loud at night in the front yard. Figure out the background noise function on your phone and turn it up. The management company running this house strives to earn profits by providing slightly less than the bare minimum. Our group of 10 had to buy extra TP because they think we're going to steal the public bathroom 1-ply if they leave enough rolls. Also had to buy trash bags, I think they left four. Do you want us to keep it clean or no? It all felt kind of odd at this high p.r.i.c.e. point - it's market rate for the area, but it seems like something a bargain spot in a lame town would pull. No beach towels provided. Similarly not a blanket in the house. You're welcome if the black and grey plaid Wal Mart blanket we bought is still there. Maybe a luggage rack in each bedroom would be nice, but it seems like a ridiculous ask when there isn't enough TP. I've also never handled thinner, cheaper feeling flatware. Again, none of this should prevent you from renting. But it's really weird at this p.r.i.c.e point.

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our family trip to Destin. We had 8 people in our group and this house was big enough to handle everyone beautifully. The short walk to the beach was awesome. The pool was refreshing as well. You will need to bring some extra toilet paper and paper towels etc. We had a great stay.

Nice family getaway

Our family (8 adults, one toddler) stayed here May 12th - 15th, 2023 and had a wonderful time. The property was clean and had everything that was advertised. The location was great, close to the beach, and the neighborhood was very nice. There was a small glitch getting into the house the first night but it was resolved very quickly.

Great Location!!!

The host was exceptional from the time of booking until after checkout. Responsive and timely. The location of the home was perfect. Easy quick walking distance to the beach (with children). Close to Starbucks, shopping, and good eats. Home has plenty of space & beds to sleep. Our party of 10 slept everyone comfortably. I especially appreciated the crib for my toddler. Thank you Calvin & Sunfish for a great stay!

Great friend and family getaway

2 families (4 adults, 6 kids) enjoyed our stay. Location/distance from the beach was convenient. Pool was refreshing. House was accommodating for all of our needs. Kids enjoyed the bunk rooms. Host was very responsive to questions.

Great place just a couple of issues

The house is beautiful! You can tell the floors need some TLC but that’s definitely not something that gets in the way of having a great stay. The property manager messaged me about pool lights however we never got those to work so I am not sure on those. Overall the house was nice, the pool was great, and we had plenty of room for our very large family.

Lovely, spacious home & great location!

We had a great stay at this property, overall. The home is spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. It is located at the end of a quiet residential street and a very short (3-5 minute), flat walk to the beach and the Crab Trap restaurant. This location truly can't be beat. The separate kitchen prep area and island is a great design, so people can be in the kitchen and have fridge access, without getting in the way of the cooks. The private beach access was great. The pool is on the smaller side, but is well-maintained, heated (by request), and has lots of shade with large trees. There were a lot of beach and sand toys, including chairs and a wagon, but you will need to bring your own beach/pool towels! There were only a couple minor inconveniences - the outlets on the porch were not working, but the owner was responsive when I let them know. Our only complaint was that the home was not very well-stocked with basics. Each bathroom was provided with only 1-2 rolls of toilet paper, there were no paper towels or dish towels, and only 1 trash bag to be found. So be prepared to stock up on a few basics on your first grocery trip, especially if you have a large group staying multiple days. Overall, I would highly recommend this property! We had a group of 10 adults and everyone slept comfortably and had easy access to a bathroom. The bunk rooms are well-suited for families traveling with small children. We had a great stay overall - thank you!
