This house was by far the prettiest house we have stayed out over the past 6 or so years that we have been making family vacations for Thanksgiving week. It was a 3 generation trip with children from 4 to adults at 70. The dining room table was large enough that we were all able to eat together as a family. The living room had enough space to spread out. The house was absolutely great. There were only 2 drawbacks to the property and those were the deck/patio furniture was not very comfortable and the bathroom on the bottom floor is shared between 2 bedrooms - wish there had been a half bathroom on that level. The sitting area in the primary bedroom was so relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. We were able to enjoy our stay and make lots of memories. The boys were at the beach every day so the direct access was nice. We used the grill to make some meals at the house. The subdivision the house was located in was amazing. We had a great time. The management company was really good as well - checking on us through the week and answering all questions we had. Great stay.

Excellent location - items not included

Nice place, but you need to lug a your own things. Had only first day supplies of paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent and toilet paper. Also ZERO beach towels at a beach house?!? Many of the doors have trouble with the hardware or are hard to close. 1st floor AC took 2 days to get down to 72 degrees, and top floor had three hornet nests on the eve. My idea of a vacation is to show up with expected things taken care of. This was not that.

Attractive house, kitchen equipment/tools need an upgrade. Great location!

It is an attractive house, with sufficient bedrooms and private bathrooms for my family of three couples and one single. However, the elevator was broken, which caused a lot of hauling to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The kitchen is on the 2nd floor. The exterior doors were difficult to open, and the kitchen stove took over 30 minutes to preheat. Old and much-used pots and pans, knives that did not cut well, and chipped dishes and cracked glasses. We did expect more at this price point. Also, no access to beach chairs, even though off-season, we did expect to have beach chairs. Good location and a pretty beach.

Good house with great location but wouldn’t return

Overall house is nice with some interesting decor (tiles, ceiling, etc). We stayed here in October with parents, kids and grandparents. Plenty of living space and bedrooms are good size. However, we all decided we probably wouldn’t stay here again as we have stayed in better places at this price point. Rental is dingier than expected. For example there are hand/finger prints on all of the white interior doors that make things feel dirty. Bathrooms are all very tight (except master). To the point where you have to turn sideways to get past open door and into bathroom. Beach towels not included which is stated when you book but very annoying considering it’s a house on the beach and the price of the rental. We’ve stayed in many other places where they are included and it’s so much easier. The “starter” items are ridiculously small or minimal. For example, the kitchen dish soap is about 2 inches tall. The $ store has larger bottles than that. And there is 1 garbage bag in the kitchen and that’s it. We are used to bringing extra tp, paper towels, dishwasher pods, etc with us but this rental’s starters were more extreme than normal. Again, it comes back to the price point where you expect a little bit more amenities/service/quality when you are paying this much for a rental house. Lastly, we had issues with the back door lock not working properly and unknowingly had left it unlocked for the first half of the week including while we were out or sleeping which is a huge safety issue. We had maintenance come out twice to fix it. The second time, maintenance admitted this is an ongoing issue with this door and that the lock needs to be replaced. After working on it for 30 minutes he was able to get it to lock and advised us to not use this door for the rest of the week. The guys who came out to fix things were very nice and helpful but the ladies you talk to on the phone are less service oriented. For these reasons we would go somewhere else next time and also avoid My Vacation Haven rental properties in the future.

Poor management

Property was great…location was great….management groupware the worst I have ever dealt with…broken dryer no follow up……called the company daily with no solutions offered…said they would send clean towels went to the wrong house…finally received some on the last day….will never stay at house management by this company ever again!!!!!

Nice home

Check in was very easy . House beautifully decorated and clean . We had an issue with the master bath shower was one temperature, only super hot . Called management Monday ... didn’t show up to check on till Friday . Also told them about broken chair , never addressed .

Beautiful property and view!

This home exceeded our expectations. It was so nice being right on the beach. Loved the gated community and privacy. Easily accommodated two families and our nanny. Kids loved the property, too! Tons of toys and boogie boards in the storage room. We will be back!

Very Nice House

We had a great time at this house. Very beautiful and was clean. The only issue we had was the mattress in master needed to be replaced, plus the sheets were way to big for the mattress which caused unrest. Also we had to rent beach chairs. We were told there were chairs in the beach closet.. there was one. The houses we have rented before, the chairs were included. As much as we paid for the house, we felt like they should have been included. Overall.. we had a great time!

Fabulous family vacation

This was a fantastic property for our family of 6. We enjoyed the vastness of the house and the ability to spread out when necessary. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. It made for a great home away from home for the week! We will definitely return!

Fabulous Location - Beautiful House

Wave on Wave is a lovely property on the beach of Destiny by the Sea - one of the premier gated communities in Destin. This was the 10th home in Destiny by the Sea and our 14th stay. Wave on Wave is one of the few houses furnished with proper beds in all the bedrooms - no bunk rooms which is perfect for an all adult group. Being right on the beach is a luxury well worth the extra expense. The dolphins swam by every morning and lingered in the water right off our beach. Thank you to the owners for making this property available to those of us who yearn for a beach vacation!

Spacious and Nice

The house was great. It's got some age on it, but the quality of construction has allowed it to hold up well. The decor is fairly luxurious, and there's a spacious but cozy feel throughout. The privacy and security provided by the gated neighborhood is also a big plus. It was clean, and the convenience of beach access right out the back door cannot be overstated. Would definitely stay here again. Another location in this neighborhood would also be a possibility.

Outstanding Home

One of our best vacations - our entire family stayed the full week. The home was exactly as listed, with plenty of room for all. The beach is private and every amenity available. We will definitely be back.

So perfect, I never left the property....

The accommodations were perfect for our family. The gated community made us feel safe. The kitchen was well stocked. The dishwasher died and the property managers were very friendly and considerate and quick to replace it. Each room felt private. The bathrooms were fancy. The elevator helped loading and unloading, but more importantly, make the trip feasible for my husband's frail mother. The property came well supplied with beach chairs, boogie boards, rafts, and sand tools. The master bed was very soft (I like a firm mattress, so that was a personal struggle). The water temperature was hot and lasted through concurrent and back-to-back showers in several bathrooms. The locks on the balcony doors are near the end of their lifespan. I will definitely look out for availability of this property next year and hope I can make my plans in time. We stay in a beach home every summer - this was my favorite property without a doubt.

Red tide and a hurricane

The question did I enjoy my stay was influenced by the environment. First off the house was perfect for us, we really enjoyed our house accommodations. The red tide was bad when we arrived then we evacuated for two days because of the hurricane. Other than that our last two days of our stay was real nice. The red tide was gone and it was sunny both days. Tough luck for us but we love going to Destin.

Dreamy Home in an Amazing Location

My family and I have been staying at different homes along 30A for a few years now, and this home is by far the most beautiful we have stayed at. We have all decided that we will only be renting this house for our family vacations. This home is managed so well and truly has that special touch. We were pleasantly surprised to find a gift basket of yummy snacks when we arrived, there are Tommy Bahama toiletries in every bathroom, and the kitchen was stocked with cleaning supplies (i.e. dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, etc.) for us to use during our stay. The attention to detail when you rent this home will blow your mind! Not only is the house well equipped for your stay, but it is truly a beautiful home! Every room was decorated perfectly. We were all huge fans of the unique (and what looked to be handmade and hand painted) tile that was used in every bathroom, in the kitchen, and even the laundry room! The location of this home to grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants is great! You are only a few minutes away. The beach was super clean and peaceful, and the people who set up our umbrellas every day were so kind and knowledgeable. We cannot say enough positive things about this rental and we are counting down the days to our next vacation in this gorgeous home!
