Was not worth it

They are renovating the place starting from day 1 and we stayed here 4 days we were not happy the elevators stopped working we had to use the stairs. The condo was falling apart if i could have gotten a refund i would have please avoid at all costs!!!!!

It was ok

The building is really old looking…can use some updates…the condo smelled like smokers lived there which I did not like at all…possibly need the carpet cleaned…the bedding had stains on it which was completely unacceptable….a little trash in the bedroom garbage…the bathroom sinks filled up with water anytime we used them….other than that, it was ok…the views were nice…I loved that the balcony could be accessed from the bedroom…. Wouldn’t book again but it’s not horrible…I just prefer something a little more upscale.

My opinion

The room wasn’t what we were accustomed to. The condo was in need of some tender love. The beach was great. Just a short distance from the room. The bar and entertainment was very good. If I was to rate this location on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being the highest. I would rate our room about a 5. Don’t believe we would stay there again.

Almost perfect!

We had a great time! The condo was clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful view of the ocean. The property is centrally located so we never had to travel far to eat, shop, etc. There is a great store on the first floor that has just about anything you might need. The only issue we had was with the electrical outlets. A lot of them did not work or the plugs would not stay in the outlet so it was frustrating to charge our phones and also get ready using the hairdryer, etc

Condo below standards

The property was out of date, and a lot of things need fixing or changed out. Paid the same money for this room as we would have a room that the couch wasn't completely no good. Had to go buy an air mattress. First and last experience with VRBO/ Vacasa .

Great place to stay

The only downfall is this property is through Vacasa. When we asked for sn extra blanket at the front desk; we had to contact vacasa first. Minor inconvenience but still worth the stay

Great stay.

It was perfect for our family of 3. Great view of ocean and city. Great bar and grill and coffee shop in the lobby. The staff was really nice and helpful. The access to pool and beach was perfect.

Average

The location was great. The room had a side balcony, but you still had a good view of the ocean. As previously mentioned, the tiles on the balcony are broken and the outlets are worn, making it hard for anything to stay plugged in. We loved that there was a restaurant/bar, indoor and outdoor pool, and splash pad. Would definitely stay at Sundestin again, but would probably try a different room.

Property is worn down Vacasa is horrible

Property is overdue for maintenance and cleanup. All of the furniture is stained and showing it's age. There are loose and broken floor tile on balcony. Electrical outlets are so worn that a phone charge cable would fall out, in bath and kitchen. Supplies are a bare minimum. One 69 cent roll of paper towels, and no coffee filters. No blow dryer, but you can rent one in the gift shop. We payed the rental fees for front row beach chairs, but folks with personal chairs came and set up in front of us. We were told the property does not "manage" that area. I don't think those folks were even staying on site. We met nice individuals who own units in the building, there comments were clear, AVOID VACASA properties, who only manage some units in this building, no the whole property.

Our holiday recouperation !

As usual, our unit was well stocked and had a great view of the bridge and beach. A small coffee table would be nice for the evening snacks when the weather is not suitable for being on porch.. Socializing at the restaurant/bar was relaxing and fun. The shop owners in the lobby were extremely helpful and friendly, going out of their way to get missing items on our arrival. A shout out to them !!

Reunion with friends/family

The property was nice with gorgeous ocean access and views. This area was way too crowded for us. We wished we stayed a bit further out in the quieter end like Ft. Walton. Also, our unit was run by Vacasa, a business as opposed to an individual. We have preferred the person to person rentals we’ve had in the past - a little more personal as opposed to dealing with a “company”. We expected some replenishment of towels, toilet paper as the description said daily housekeeping. We never got clean towels or toilet paper the entire 5-night stay. We did seek them out toward the end but it would’ve been more convenient to have it available. The rug in the master bedroom was old and dirty. Non carpet would be preferred. The unit had 1 and 1/2 baths which provided 2 toilets, 2 sinks and a shower. One of the sinks was broken with tape across it when we checked in. Three adults and only one sink was not good. Vacasa did respond quickly and sent someone over to fix the sink the next day. Just a small issue but didn’t need to deal with that upon checking in. Enjoyed our stay overall but would not choose Sundestin in the future.

Enjoyed our stay at this property. The view was spectacular!

Everything is nearby, you can walk across the street if your in the mood for pizza hut or chickfila. If you plan on cooking take a good nonstick pan. The convenience store down stairs came in handy. The people at the check-in desk very polite. I love the easy access to the beach ( steps away) and there are 2 pools (1 indoor 1 outside)

Great Get Away

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The property was nice and had great amenities! The property was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. The location was perfect. Beachfront and close to great restaurants and tons of things to do. Would rent here again.

Beautiful view, clean accommodations

The property is a side unit that isn't beach front however its still a great view. Never been here but we loved Destin. Great location in middle of 5-6 mile strip of places to see and eat. Bring extra towels (no towel service or use aundromat on each floor). Overall, had a wonderful time and loved the unit.

Great Location - Lovely view

I loved that you can reserve your beach chairs and the company will put your name on them so you don’t have to go down early to grab one. You have to call ahead of time, though. On the days we were there, walk ups we’re getting second row. As for the condo, it was very nice. The only thing I would recommend to the owners is to put pot holders in the kitchen, which seems silly, but when cooking in the oven it’s hard to use dish towels. Also, if you are planning to use the bed and couch bed, you may want to bring an extra blanket. The condo provides one for each bed, but if you get cold easily or travel with someone that likes the room really cold, you might need an extra. The balcony is on the side of the building, but the view of the ocean was still excellent, plus you could look in the other direction and see Destin and the bridge. We even saw fireworks from the bedroom one night.
