I really loved staying at this property. I wish I could have stayed longer just to have more time in the unit and lounging by the pool. The property and room were immaculate. The property manager was extremely quick to respond and very helpful. The decor in the unit was great and completely fit the vibe of the place. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a huge closet in the bedroom for storage. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely be coming back to stay here.

Affordable Palm Springs

Very convenient location. Very quiet and well-maintained. Would work on sound proofing because the walls are paper thin. We were lucky our next door neighbors were very polite, but we could here everything like if we were in the room with them.

Kitschy and cute mid century property

Great little place for a weekend visit! Owner is great communicator and property was nice and tidy. Very fun vibe! Perfect place to take lots of vintage vibe photos. Only negative, area surrounding is a little sketchy. Would not recommend for a girls trip for that reason. Local mineral spas are amazing and some offer a day pass. Try Azure while you're in town.

amazing experience!!

I would absolutely recommend DHSGETAWAY!! located just a short drive from the airport and to any events and locations in palm springs. This property is clean, quiet and fabulously decorated in the 1950's style. The apartment comes stocked with pretty much everything you might need. Over looking the city this is property has fantastic views of the mountains and city lights at night. The pool and palms are beautiful and offer private homelike feeling in paradise! Several Mineral hot springs are with in walking distance. if your looking for rest and relaxation look no further. The host is so friendly and communication is super fast!! i absolutely enjoyed my stay and plan to return!

MCM Lover’s Dream

If you love MCM this is the place for you. Quirky and kitschy decor everywhere you look! The kitchen is very well equipped. Plenty of towels too! Centrally located to everything from Palm Springs to Joshua Tree. Eric is very responsive and willing with information. The neighborhood is quiet. Relaxing by the pool feels wonderful after a morning spent at JT. I hope to visit again. Thank you Eric!

Fun little apartment.

We quite enjoyed our stay here. Spacious and very clean. The bedroom was large and there is a full kitchen. The living room couch converted nicely into a bed for our eight year old. Lots of vintage touches in the decorating. I also must note the heating and AC worked really well and quickly. Only downside is it was a little further from Palm Springs than we realized (a 20-25min drive) but for the price and quality of the place it really was not a big deal.

Received an email a few days prior to arrival with all details about check in. Easy 20 mins from airport. Loved the vintage decor. Quiet and clean. Kitchen had all required cooking items. Enjoyed our first time visit to Palm Springs.

The Getaway

My family of 3 and our small dog spent 4 days in unit #5 at The Getaway. It was great. Beautiful views, comfy unit, close to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree. Eric was a wonderful host and provided lots of information about the area. We will definitely be back.

Great place for a weekend.

My fiancé stayed here for a weekend and it was great. I didn’t know what to expect and I was very surprised. The unit was great and stocked with amenities that were unexpected and is fully equipped. Easy drive to Palm Springs if you want. Highly recommend.

Lovely Stay at The Getaway

My partner and I had a lovely stay here! Eric was very responsive and helpful the whole time. The property was clean, spacious, quiet, nicely decorated and the perfect spot for a weekend vacation. There was an issue w/ the wifi, but Eric sent a technician to get it fixed immediately. I would totally recommend this property and would even return myself! Great stay!

Simple elegance

This is the second time we've stayed at The Getaway. It's the perfect location high atop a hill with a great view of Mt. San Jacinto, near Palm Springs and a plethora of hiking trails. The rooms are creatively decorated to make one feel like they're inhabiting a 1960's vacation apartment straight out of the vintage Playboy magazines left conveniently available. Eric, our host, was accessible and very attentive. Hopefully, the units won't become too popular; however, since we may want to return again next year.

Perfect!

This rental is *practically perfect* in every way, with just the right balance of space and privacy. The units are completely furnished with a mid-century collection that adds to a sense of adventure and history of place. The pool, hottub are clean and well-sized, and the patio overlooks a vast view of the desert and surrounding mountains. The unit was clean, and the bed, pillows and linen were all comfy. Our host Eric was so very friendly and helpful in offering us dining and spa suggestions, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. This place is the perfect base for jumping off in all directions from the desert valley to Joshua Tree Natl. Park. We'll definitely be back!

The 60’s decor while spot on was also not very comfortable. The sofa was hard and the bed was lumpy. There is a small tv in the bedroom but it only plays the dvds that are there for your use. The owner did a great job decorating the place with plenty of 60/70 memorabilia . Paid laundry is available and was used. While the pool and hot tub area looks inviting, having to pay an extra $60 per day to get the heat turned on is excessive. New bed and the pool and hot tub included in the rent would make it a much better deal.

Retro in the Desert

Eric’s place was fantastic! Very quiet location, about 25 minutes from Palm Springs or Indian Wells. We attended the tennis tournament and had no trouble driving back and forth. Eric’s house is so cool! He obviously has an eye for detail and his place was so interesting to stay in. Eric was very responsive to any questions we had, and check in instructions were thorough. We will definitely be looking to book his place next spring!

Great for a weekend getaway

My husband and I stayed at this location for a weekend getaway and the experience was wonderful. Being able to bring our dog with us was a major plus. Reserving the unit was easy and Eric was very thourough. The unit is clean, cute and it’s clear Eric has put a lot of thought and time into decorating. The TVs are very small but we didn’t spend a lot of time watching tv anyway. The pool and outside area looked nice but it was took cold to utilize. Overall a wonderful place to stay!

Golfers View

Location was what we were looking for, away for down town but driveable distance to everything (stores, restaurants etc.). Most of the golf courses were within 1/2 hour and 2 within 10mins from condo. Condo was very clean and had everything we needed. Décor was very interesting and items brought back memories from my younger days. Pool looked nice and clean, but weather a little to chilly for us to get in it. I'm picky about beds and pillows, but here I had no problems with them and slept very well. The TV, he has Net Flix and Amazon, which is different for us but we found things to watch, but we don't go on vacation to watch TV. Eric was extremely responsive to all our questions and any information we requested. If the opportunity arises we will do business with Eric again. Thank You, Eric... Mary and Jack
