Our group of 24 (seven couples kids) found this estate to be an ideal setup for our group. There was plenty of space for everyone, and lots of places to hang out together and in groups. The houses are a really fun trip back to early Hollywood glamour—the details and fixtures still show their mid century elegance. There are definitely some quirks, but it was overall in great shape. The grounds are really beautiful—desert plants and citrus trees and fresh flowers—and they show the care put into the place in recent years. We enjoyed the mix of preserved original details and some new upgrades. It’s clear the owners have been working on the place, and I can only guess it will keep getting better and better.Breakfast and lunch was easy to enjoy in the kitchens but we were glad to have gotten catering for one of our dinners, as it was a little challenging to cook for 24 in any one of the kitchens. (If you’re up for the adventure, it can still be fun!)We didn’t get much information ahead of time, but the onsite groundskeeper was great help, and fun to talk with. The info in the listing was not very detailed, but it was accurate. It was better than the photos show! Similarly, there was little communication about check in, but it ended up being very easy and convenient. It was a quick drive to Desert Hot Springs or Palm Springs, and we enjoyed day trips, including to Big Morongo Canyon in Preserve for a nature walk. But we also just loved spending time at the estate.
