A well furnished, modern apartment in a great location, with views from the balcony over the town and lake. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed for a longer stay, including a washing machine and airer. Great aircon in all rooms and comfy double sofa bed (unusual based on the other places we stayed!) We really liked the town and harbour of Desenzano because although it’s beautiful and attracts holiday makers, it also has a lot of locals enjoying their community and amenities throughout the day and evening, too. For groceries, there is a local delicatessen just around the corner, and two large supermarkets a 10-minute walk away. For transport links, the train station with hourly local trains to Verona, Venice and Milan is about a 20 minute walk away. The harbour is well-served with lake ferries, too. A couple of tips - the boiler struggles to support both showers at the same time, so we just had them on at different times. Bring extra dishwasher tablets and tea towels (only one is supplied), and laundry tablets as they aren’t supplied. And the building doesn’t have a lift, so be prepared to climb a lot of steps with your luggage - but then, the views make it worth it.
