The apartment is clean, the host is accessible and friendly, everything I needed was in the space and was quality. They very much took extra steps to include high end furnishings. Great stay! Thank you!

We stayed in the penthouse unit of this building for three nights, and unfortunately, the experience was far from relaxing. The unit itself was decently furnished and had a nice layout, but everything else—from the building to the management—was a major letdown.Elevator Nightmare The penthouse is on the 11th floor, and the elevator broke down every single day of our stay except the last. We had to climb 11 flights of stairs multiple times a day, which was exhausting and unacceptable for a vacation rental. The host, Jesse, said there was nothing they could do, which felt dismissive. To make matters worse, residents were so fed up they left a note in the lobby urging everyone to call the landlord and sue.Fly Infestation On the second day, we discovered a fly infestation in the second bedroom. It was bad enough that we had to close off the room for the rest of our stay. Jesse was again unable to resolve the issue, leaving us short a bedroom in a unit we paid full price for.Noisy AC The AC unit in the primary bedroom was extremely loud and clearly in need of maintenance. It made sleeping difficult, especially after climbing all those stairs.Building Conditions The building itself is run down. The hallways were littered with trash and stained carpets, which made coming and going feel grimy and unpleasant.The Good The interior of the unit was the only redeeming feature—clean, modern, and spacious. But that alone doesn’t make up for the rest.

We arrived and found the elevators were not working for this 11th floor property. I'm 71 and my partner is 62. We traversed the stairs once and decided that was impossible. Residents informed us that the elevators often were "down". We contacted "Jesse" and Vrbo, but did not get an adequate or timely response. We moved to the Hilton.The apartment was adequate on a cursory brief inspection. However, the hallways and stairs were bug ridden. The entire property had the ambiance of a college dorm.After some heartache and perseverance, Vrbo issued a refund.Be circumspect about renting this property. They're just asking for an ADA complaint, IMO.

Nice apartment, run down building

We had an interesting stay at this apartment. Let me start with the positives.The central air conditioning worked exceptionally well in the unit. As opposed to the hallways in the building, which were stifling. The location was convenient for our activities at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The view was spectacular as described. The washer and dryer were huge bonus for us, as were the ensuite bathrooms. The decor was tasteful and modern without being too stuffy. The big screen televisions in each room were really nice, and we enjoyed the blackout shades for sleeping in. The mattresses were comfortable.Now for the constructive criticism. And please know we feel like most of the things we disliked were not the fault of the host, Jesse, but rather the sad state of the apartment building. The elevator only seemed to work about half to 60 percent of the time we were there. Yes, we knew we rented a pent house, but it was implied there were elevators. My two kids, elderly mother in law and myself, a 3 year brain cancer survivor, walked up and down eleven flights of stairs with luggage multiple times during our week long stay. The wall ac unit in the king bedroom was loud and also not very effective. When asked about it, Jesse stated he knew it made noise, and offered to send maintenance, but we declined.Appreciated the fact we weren't required to do any kind of deep cleaning in order to check out. That was extremely convenient eslecially with an early morning flight!

Sit with some girlfriends. Easy access to downtown Des Moines, which was fun. Cute place to stay in accommodating. Would recommend.

Incredible Views and Fantastic Location!

This property is exactly as it is described in the listing. It's modern decor, spacious bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, and just a block off of downtown's Court Street met the needs of our family. The bonus factor was the incredible views of downtown, the river, and the beautiful bridge. The river walk is just a few blocks away. Great parking and the Host was very easy to communicate with and provided us with all of the information we needed for a great stay.

Can't say enough good things!

The apartment is wonderful, the views are beautiful, location is perfect! Easily accessible to everything, very short walk to the downtown Farmers Market on Saturday morning. I would highly recommend!
