Perfect views and location. Tired house.

Perfect views and location. Great beach access. Dishwasher did not work and realty company was unable to fix. Dishes in cabinets were not clean. White Corelle dishes, and only 2 wine glasses. Poor quality TV. Tired house- area rugs are worn out, dirty, have holes. Couches and chairs are also worn and dirty. Dining room area rug under table and chairs doesn’t lie flat, catches with chair legs. Carpeting, especially the stairs, is worn and stained.

Depoe Bay house on the beach

Good location. Great view. Short walk to the beach. Open floor plan - kitchen, dining, living area all together meant room for our 7 adults, 3 kids to be together. Ocean view everywhere. Bedrooms comfortable. BBQ was a disappointment. A bit beat up, small kettle uses briquets, not gas. Would stay again.

Property was nice. Just what we needed for a family get together. Great location, roomy house, nice views and beach access. Could have been cleaner and properly prepared for our arrival. But otherwise great.

A perfect place to stay with easy, short access to the beach. The layout of the home is great and our family enjoyed every minute. One of the best family vacations we've ever had.

Location is Everything!

Upon arrival to this property, we were able to check in easily. As we entered the property, we did notice a lot of dust on tops of spaces and grime on windows which made the beautiful view hard to appreciate. One of our guests actually ended up cleaning the windows just so we could see the ocean view better. The house is as advertised and has all your basic needs. It could use some hot tub towels so you don’t have to use your bathroom linens for the hot tub. Also, the hot tub was not clean. It did have Pineneedles and sand in it. It didn’t keep us from using it. Also, it would be helpful if guests were notified that there is no coffee provided for the two coffee machines. These types of little things make a stay worth five stars as opposed to four stars. We cooked every meal and the kitchen supplies were adequate. We also used the fire place and it heated the main room well. The location of this property is the main attraction. It is steps from the beach. With private beach access you really can’t beat a better spot. It is recommended to cut back some of the vegetation because it was hard to access the beach path due to foliage. We appreciated the beach toys for the kids as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay and for the cost, would stay again.

The hot tub wasn’t working. The dishwasher wasn’t working. The tv in the 1st room upstairs was not working. Expected a lot more from this place, disappointed won’t be staying again.

Great house, great location

Great house for a group. The ocean view from the dining room was phenomenal. Hot tub lid was very challenging to open and close. It took two strong women to open and close.

Charming but...

The view was perfect and the deck with rocking chairs was a lovely place for evening cocktails. Hot tub is well situated, but it was full of sand and pine needles when we arrived. The kitchen is very small for the number of bedrooms in the house, but it was fine for my husband and I and we never even went upstairs. The beds are too soft and the sheets were like sandpaper. Owners should invest in the "Comphy Company" sheets. Notice the spelling. I discovered these sheets this summer at a B&B in Jacksonville, OR. Your guests would notice!

3 generation Family Vacation

Pros: beautiful view, easy beach access, lovely updated home. Beds comfortable. Hot tub enjoyed by family Cons: door to back deck broken and unable to open. Front door electronic lock did not work. Washing machine broken. The first two had work arounds ( another side door to back, emergency keys in lock box. Family of 7 with young kids could have used the washing machine over the 5 days we were there. Management was notified, but no solution while we were there. I was unable to get the front door to lock upon leaving the last day, luckily cleaning person came right at check out time and she said she would handle it. It would be nice to have some larger beach towels available for use with hot tub. Overall, family of 7 had a wonderful time. Would stay again.

Clean and comfy

Very comfortable house with room for all to spread out. Good access to the beach for great walks. We appreciated the quick response from Oregon Beach Vacations, they addressed all our concerns. Except…the washing machine was out of order! Wish we had known, but it didn’t stop us from having a good time!

Great time in Depoe Bay

Our stay at the house was excellent. We had direct beach access and went for walks to the rocks. We enjoyed the living room for movies and games, and the hot tub for relaxing. The location was perfect for exploring north and south. Towels were abundant and the area was quiet. We had no communication with the property manager to speak of but they checked on us. We would love to return.

Nice location but needs improvements

Location, beach access and hot tub were great. Very limited cookware and utensils. Towels were very old/scratchy and no beach towels. Very limited toilet paper and paper towels. No dish rags or cleaning products provided. There were just a few laundry packets and dishwasher packets. Not enough for six days and 11 people. No deep cleaning. Inside kitchen drawers and cupboards were dirty. Upstairs bedrooms and stairs did not appear to be vacuumed and you could still see footprints from previous renters and some dirt. Overall is was average and not worth the cost but views, beach access and hot tub were very nice.

Perfect location on the Oregon coast

Amazing views from the beautiful deck and backyard full of natural vegetation! Easy beach access (shared with the house next door) was a must for the grandparents staying with us. Beach and neighborhood were nice and quiet. Property management was responsive; someone came the next day to try to clean the hot tub after I called. We didn't mind the sand in it, but the slimy brown film around the inside of the tub kept us out of it, unfortunately. The man who came to clean it said he couldn't do much; he skimmed the water and wiped off some (not all) of the film. The house really needs a deep-cleaning. There were dirty dishes, pan, and utensils put away in the kitchen, and small toys found underneath one of the coffee tables meant that the dusty rug wasn't thoroughly vacuumed. Pillow cases on the extra pillows found in the closets would be welcomed. We put out the garbage can on Thursday night for Friday pickup, as directed, but it was never emptied. Maybe garbage day has changed? The house is really cute and cozy with very comfortable beds, and the location can't be beat.

Great beach access. Nice view, hot tub and clean. Not a good choice if you have more than 2 kids, though. One bunkbed in a room about 6 feet wide, so others had to sleep in the living room on rollaways, which was not at all convenient. 3 bedrooms with comfortable king beds for adults.

Family Weekend

We enjoyed our weekend at Sheltering Pines….the beach access, hot tub, well supplied kitchen, big windows, very nice beds… We would definitely like to come again.
