Disappointed and underwhelmed
This VRBO was a place to lay our heads at night, however the home was not clean and frankly the listing and pictures provided when booking did not match up. Upon arrival there was a distinct stench permeating the home due to all garbage cans (6) in the garage being filled with old garbage. We had to wash the dishes before using them. We tried communicating with the owner and did not receive any response throughout our 4-day stay. Both couches in the home had stains and appeared dirty. There were left over socks in the basement as well. Beds and bathrooms were fine. The backyard was very unkempt and had trash littering the yard. If you’re looking for a place to simply hold your belongings while on your trip this would be great for you. We were very underwhelmed and disappointed.

Very nice house, AC not big enough to keep the whole place cool.
House was very nice and had plenty of beds for sleeping. Shower was awesome. The only issue was the window unit AC didn't keep the upstairs cooled off during the day. Downstairs was good temperature-wise.

Has potential
This property definitely has potential. The photos did not show the areas that need attention. Upon driving up to the house the yard looked like it needed a good mow and weeding. The house itself is nice but it looks like they are still in the midst of doing their remodel. Structural areas had broken or missing pieces. There weren’t enough towels, dishes, eating utensils or anything. The window A/C could not cool the whole house so it was very hot. There are no ceiling fans in any room. The beds down stairs were missing most of the wooden crossbars and when you sat on the bed you fell through the gaps. The back yard had a broken fence wall, weeds that were 3’ high and a large container filled with cigarette butts. The house met our need which was just a place to lay our heads at night. It could be a great place if someone gave it the care and attention it needs. I had even emailed the property manager about my concerns ahead of time after reading other reviews. I was told these things had been fixed. Unfortunately everything was the same except the fridge was clean and so was the garage. I’m not sure why there was so much left over food in the pantry. Opened boxes of cereal and lots of other food. That seemed strange to me.

Not ready
Sorry. But issues here just kept piling up. Pictures show updated/flipped decor, however they they didn't finish the job/cheaped out on quality, and housekeeping was bad. Garage reaked of garbage/animal. Not sure if it was the cleaning crew or whomever rented before us, but they overflowed one garbage can in the hot garage (there were two more sitting there empty that could have taken care of it). Also large gap in bottom of door to garage probably allowing cats/rodents in. Just one window air unit when entering top floor living room. Not enough to cool rooms on top floor and nothing cooling bottom floor. This is not in the mountains and you do need air conditioning option. Floorboard heater entryway was broken/need paint/replaced. Only 4 forks, 4 spoons, no knives, 6 chairs for place that is to sleep more than 10. Freezer drawer had several containers of half eaten ice cream leftovers (pretty disgusting). Glass patio door blinds broken/missing which meant no privacy and feeling unsafe. Outside patio area was pathetic with bag of garbage outside door, rotten privacy fence falling down, dirt/weeded yard and no chairs/table. Every bed only had foam mattresses. Half of the towels in the closet were damp still (probably not fully dried from morning's cleaning?) Guessing they are dealing with/recovering from issues with bugs. Found two within first hour and decided to put our luggage in the car just in case. Guessing they need to treat around outside of house because saw several by garage entry/security pad. Just one television.

Sorely Underfurnished
First, let me say that this property met my basic need, which was to provide beds for family members for a reunion. We did not spend time at the property other than to sleep, and the sleep was not ideal due to cheap mattresses and terrible pillows. If you rent intending to spend time there, you will be disappointed. For a property advertised to accommodate 14 people, it is badly underfurnished. We had about 8 bath towels, a few washcloths and no hand towels (although we did find two hand towels in the dryer on the last day of our stay.) The kitchen had only six plates, a couple of bowls and no coffee cups, and very little silverware. Small 5 cup coffeemaker barely served our three coffee drinkers. The most disturbing thing about the kitchen however, was the partially consumed containers of food left in the pantry and freezer. I understand leaving seasonings and unopened cans, but certainly not partially consumed ice cream, peanut butter, chips, etc. In addition, don't plan to spend any time on the patio unless you want to sit among the foot tall weeds. Additional seating in the living area would also be nice as the one couch could comfortably seat only three people. This property was nicely updated (I would imagine it was several years ago) but now needs some TLC. This property has a lot of potential, but management badly needs to do some on site management and make some seriously needed adjustments.

Owner was great to work with. The home was great. Great neighborhood. Would love to have had ceiling fans since there was no ac. Loved the garage. We could tell the owner took a lot of pride in the house.
