"We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round ."

"As the hotel location information (map and local access info) was about the King's Arms in Colchester town on the Hotels.com website, I initially went there where I was told that I was at a wrong King's Arms and that they did not have any rooms. The King's Arms I had booked turned out to be the one 40-minute bus ride away from Colchester town. The correct King's Arms was a nice place to stay offering great food. My room was fine in size and very clean but adjusting the shower was a little tricky...

"We recently rented three homes in England - They were all very, very, good. Even with this tough competition, the Mac Shack stood out as an absolutely wonderful stay. From the friendly, helpful, host and hostess and their beautiful, very comfortable home, I cannot imagine a better rental. We have rented many homes from VRBO, some City apartments, country cottages, beautiful villas and even a castle. Mac shack was the equal or better than any other accommodation.
