Clean, friendly management, wonderful view

Great location, in spite of being across the street from the beach; nothing can be built in front of it, so you can't beat the view! We were disappointed there was no pool, and we couldn't sit outside without being subject to smokers. The hotel had very friendly management, but charged a fifteen dollar cleaning fee and we never saw a maid during our short stay. Great for what it is, a old, Florida style motel, but clean and in a wonderful uncrowded section of Ormond by the Sea.

Relaxing extended stay

Great Location and Management. This is an older place that is in the process of being updated. Due to our circumstances, we had an opportunity to stay in all three room types; all were clean and well-maintained. Lisa and John were more than accommodating for our extended stay. The other guests here were obviously having a good time fishing and swimming at the beach. Steps away, there is a nice deck, owned by Ocean Crest, leading directly onto the beach. I will definitely recommend Ocean Crest for any of my family or friends when they come to visit

You pay for what you get.

Location was decent for our trip close enough to where we were going. Little oversold the beachfront.. not accurate - across the street and through the overgrowth. WORSE bed ever. Seems like nothing has been done since the 70s. Bring your own shampoo and extra towels nothing offered here. People were nice but would not stay there again unless they offer free chiropractor after each night. Really could use a good remodel.

Upon arrival there was no one there to check us in, a phone number was listed on the office which i called and was told to go to room 7 which was to no avail. People sitting outside informed me that "he" had gonw to a hardware store and would be back in a few. After being on the road for 21/2 hours and wanting to freshen up to meet up with family we left and checked in to another hotel. Was unable to cancel my reservation and did not get a refund.

It could use some repair. It was my first experience at a non-commercialized motel. There is no service desk, etc. Friendly, location was excellent, out of hustle-bustle of tourists.

We stayed for one night passing through town. It was fine for that. The dryer had broken so we were short a sheet. The service was great and they were very apologetic.

Smelled like bug spray everyday for 5 days. Mattress kept falling off bed frame. Curtains so old they were dry rotted. No wash clothes and the three bath towels we were given were ruff with holes. No one came to empty trash or give us clean towels for 5 days.

A quaint spot. Just cross the street and you are on the beach and it’s semi private, not crowded. A lil older but we had a great stay. Staff was very sweet and accommodating. Definitely will return.

Beach get away

I wanted a beachfront stay for one night. Ocean Creasy was my selection. It is across from the beach, easy access and nice grounds at the motel. The place does need some TLC, but it provided what I wanted, plus at a good rate.

Classic '50s beach motel... needs some serious upgrading. Forget trying to charge a cell phone or computer - no three-pronged plus, and my cell charger kept falling out of the only available plug. The resident staff was incredibly solicitous - made the stay at least bearable. The GIANT HEAVY old tv fell off its rickety old metal stand while I was looking for a plug - wasn't anchored at all. Could have done some serious damage to me! There is a much nicer motel a few blocks back up the beach toward the bridge. Try it out!

First of all there's no molding around the doors you can see daylight. No hangers in the closet. If he figured he had no ice trays and there was black ice in there that need to be defrosted. That was mold and bugs on the windowsills curtains look like they're back in the 1800s. The floor felt dirty and very sandy that we had to wipe her feet before we got into bed. If I had to stay a week I would've refused it but it was only three days just needed a place to sleep and shower. I think it needs to be updated but I would not recommend to anybody. We were not happy did not get service for the three days we were there we had to make The bed every day and use the same towel is the same every day.

Just hope their is a vacancy when I'm in the area

I had a nice stay here at Ocean Crest. Davis was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions and concerns. I arrived quite early, but was able to check in, as a room was ready. It's a quiet, comfortable, clean, and nicely located motel. Ocean view from every room, and covered porch with chairs outside your door to relax and listen to the waves, read a book, or visit with other guests. No pool, but a private deck beachfront for motel guests to enjoy also. It's a throwback motel, but comfy. I've found in my travels around the state, that the places you find snowbirds renting by the month, are clean, comfortable, and economical. Though some may disagree, this is a little gem. And I noticed pet friendly too.

Needs many updates but is across from the beach

Needs many updates but is across from the beach. The beds are hard and noisy. Anytime someone turns over you can hear the bed squeak. Couldn't get the shower to work without much difficulty. You can hear anything next door or outside.

Nice place to stay

The motel is under new management. The staff worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. They are in the middle of up grading bed and TV's.
