Communication with the property managers was prompt and helpful. The space itself was on the smaller side but still very functional, it is fitted out with heaters and electric blankets so staying warm wasn’t an issue, the location is good and we followed recommendations from the owners to take a nearby trail which made for a really nice walk in nature while exploring local history, would definitely recommend. The hot tub was also probably the main selling point to this accomodation and it did not let us down as it was constantly hot and ready to go.
The downsides to the stay were very minimal but I will write to inform future visitors + the owners: the kitchen isn’t exactly made for cooking but does have all the necessary accessories to prepare basic food, I will suggest bringing a bread knife if thats your thing, we picked up a special loaf from the Sunday Market and struggled with the knives at the house. We also found it wasn't as private as we expected when initially booking, the owners did inform us that the property has two other cottages, and although they are pretty far apart, the trees surrounding the hot tub where we stayed are deciduous so there were no leaves on them during our stay and we could easily see others around and they could see us if used during the day, there isn’t really fencing separating the property either, at one point there was a dog in out backyard area while we in the hot tub.
The booking also said there would be drinks on arrival but there was not. I didn’t follow any of these up with the owners during the stay as we were quite busy coming in and out to explore the local area, again not major issues, but potentially some things that could be done better in the future. Overall great stay, and would recommend it to anyone staying in Daylesford for a few days.
