Clean but needs work on floors, pool had rock salt thrown all over deck by pool. Pool water level had oil residue. Handle on sliding doors fell off, I texted Vasca twice no reply, I called & spoke to someone very friendly. She said she would put in a work order.These things didn’t ruin our family vacation but we were disappointed.

This house is nice but the pool was green

The house is lovely, exactly as described but when er check in, I immediately noticed that the pool was green with algae. Lots of algae and more than a few days worth. I called in and reported the issue and then followed up with a text to their on call line. We checked in on Monday and reported the issue upon check in that afternoon. Around noon on Tuesday, someone showed up to clean and service the pool. He shocked it and we waited for the water to clear. By the time it had cleared, a storm rolled in so we weren’t able to swim that night. Wednesday we spent almost all day in the pool and it was nice. A bit small but with an amazing view of the bay. Temperature was cool which was actually perfect since it was a warm day. A bit of shade would be lovely for the patio and pool area. The internet was nonexistent for most of the trip and without internet, the tvs won’t work. Most of the remotes to the tvs were broken or missing batteries. Bedrooms were also missing light bulbs. The company sent out a repairman on Tuesday who worked on the issue, but it continued to be a problem the entire trip. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is very sparsely furnished, so bring everything from home.

Beautiful Home

The house had amazing views and was very clean. I loved that every room had a bathroom in or near it. The listing says it’s beachfront, but it is not. It is on the bay side of the island. I also saw where people complained about the pool being cold. It was! I have a pool at home that is not heated and my pool is warmer than the pool at this house. My only suggestion would be to find a new heater for the pool. Other than that- the house was amazing.

Easter fun

Perfect home for family and friends ! It is on the bay side - which was perfect location for smaller grandkids. The gulf side was very rough and would have been unsafe w smaller kids ! The bay side was perfect ! Also ordered pizza from pirates pizza and had delivered ! Perfect for after long day at the beach !

Nice but watch where you walk on the floor

The floor needs replaced!! Toes were stubbed, almost cut. Lost power, need a flashlight or generator. No detergent, No iron, No data whatsoever for internet!!!!! That is ridiculous to try to watch a movie. Remove games that have no game pieces, Leave paper towel roll, leave toilet paper, leave kleenex, leave garbage bags. For that price..why were these not supplied? You should show the floor online.

Misleading

We are from Alabama & come to D.I. a lot. We were excited to show out-of-state family our fave beaches. When we pulled up we were confused. Not only were people still in the house cleaning after 4pm check-in, but the house location was not as promised. The map is marked on the south side of the island & The listing says oceanfront. This is actually on the North side of the Island, on the Mississippi sound. The fish-eye pic makes the pool look SIGNIFICANTLY larger. Internet never worked. Connect to network and then no internet. Couldn’t even get on google to check speed. Reset router didn’t fix It was nice there was a pack-n-play for the tot. The listing mentions up to two pets allowed (which we did not bring) but there was so much pet hair on the couches that I personally could not sit down due to allergies. Even the throw pillows had pet hair that stuck to all of our clothes. The couch was slanting down hill as if something was wrong with it, and the queen bedroom curtain rod was broken in the center upon arrival. There were no more trash bags, and due to no internet we were unable to contact the host(s). The pool was filled with sand and dead mosquitos. The pool cleaners came in the middle of our only full day there. It was nice of Vacasa to put out candy for the kids for Easter, & check-in was easy (since the house cleaners were there still). Our family made the best of it, but overall… disappointed with how much we paid for our worst dauphin island vacation.

Relaxing, well equipped home

House was really clean overall. Well equipped with everything you need to cook meals. Plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable. Excellent location just a few houses from public beach and with views of the bay and the beach. Very quiet location.

Little slice of heaven

Dauphin Island is a charming, cozy and quiet place. The house is in a beautiful location. Living room is extremely worn and the sofa cushions are almost as flat as a pancake. Other than that, beds were comfortable and it was extremely clean. I would stay here again.

Good location but needs upgrades

The house is located about 7-10 houses from West Beach—the closest public beach. Easy walking distance. The house itself needed more attention to detail. The floor is warping, top tray of dishwasher was broken but useable. It was difficult keeping the floor clean from sand because the broom provided was old and worn. No handvac was provided. Bedspreads and sofas were old and worn. The beds were comfortable. A text was sent to vacasa regarding broom and dishwasher but no response. The pool was clean and warm but really just a plunge pool. Too small to swim in. We excepted nicer amenities for a “new” house given the price.

Truly A Slice of Heaven

This beach house is gorgeous!! Modern interior with new fixtures and appliances. A very beachy feel with the colors and decor. Only 3 "wish" items: 1. With lots of bare feet, we got a few splinters from the wood deck 2. The internet speed... we had 11 people staying so between streaming, gaming and posting pics of our trip (all during some down time), the internet had a lag. 3. Controlling the temp if the pool... when it was nice out pool was really warm and when a strom rolled in and caused temps to drop, the pool got cold and stayed that way. When we contacted Vacasa, they said the heater was dependent upon air temp and would warm as the air warmed, which it didn't. And by the 5th day into our 7 day stay, it needed to be cleaned. Other than those issues, this place was perfect!! The views for sunrise and sunset were unobstructed from our decks. The gulf being right across the street meant lots of time to easily go to the beach and back to the house. We cooked all of our meals and had utensils and cook ware right there. And the pool!! We utilized it a lot !! Will definitely rent this house again!!

Wonderful new home with pool

Upon arrival, I was disappointed that the property was not located on the Gulf side of the island as the description and pin on map places it on gulf side. Once in the house and saw our view with unobstructed sunset from the porch, I was quickly excited about our stay. The pool and back deck was woderful as we were not compelled to swim in bay/sound water. Was nice to have a bathroom per each bedroom! Would rent this home again!

Sweet little get away

This is a cute vacation property. We were all comfortable and content. Beautiful views and pretty spacious. They provided extra blankets and pillows in the closets which was super convenient. However, there were a few situations that we ran into. 1. The front king bedroom got noticeably hot when the sun was out and the door was closed. We kept the thermostat on 68 and the room was still pretty warm. 2. The heated pool seemed to be on a timer, maybe? So it would only be heated at certain times throughout the day/night — Other times it was pretty cold. 3. We saw HUGE rats — one was in the grill and the other one was below the deck under our truck. The size of the rats were equivalent to a small dog. 4. We booked a 5 night stay where we were only provided 3 dishwasher tabs, a tiny bottle of dish soap, 3 washer pods, 1 roll of paper towels and 2 trash bags so we ended up having to go purchase more of these items. 5. I messaged the Vacasa owners through VRBO 2 days before our trip and they never messaged me back All things that can easily be fixed moving forward, just wanted to provide an honest review.
