Great Getaway

Very clean, private, a great place to get away. Within a few hours of everything. I would recommend a truck, it is remote. You will see wildlife.

Clean, private, beautiful location!

We enjoyed the privacy, beautiful views and hiking the canyon right from the cabin. The nice deck, fireplace, well-stocked kitchen and hot tub were great! Lori communicated well!

House was great the gravel road was a little long but we new that going in, and the stairs to the loft are very steep need to come down with caution but overall very good experience.

Everything as advertised plus added special touches

This is a gorgeous, out-of-the-way property. The view of the canyon and the night sky are worth every minute of the drive out of the way. The owner has gone out of the way to provide quality bed linens and towels, a clean grill on the deck, comfortable furnishings inside and out; even the fireplace was ready-all we had to do was light it up! Peaceful, gorgeous and beautiful stay!

Incredible honeymoon experience!!!

Within minutes of viewing the listing, my fiancé and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed!The pictures do not do the view justice. I have seen some beautiful places in the Midwest, and have traveled a fair bit, and this was the most beautiful location I’ve ever stayed! We marveled at the scenery, the quiet, the peace, the stars, the detachment from busy life, the attention to detail of the home, the coziness of the surroundings, the opportunity to be in and walk through nature and the wildlife we witnessed. We were bird watching everyday, and really enjoyed the hot tub and indoor fireplace! It snowed a couple of days during our March visit, and it was spectacular!! You can’t dream this stuff up!! The host was very responsive, and addressed all of our needs. A couple of things I would note to prospectives: I would suggest that you bring a little box of general medicine with some things like painkiller and decongestants, because it is 45 mins to the closest city. One other thing is that the stairs to access the loft are very steep. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s noticeable. We had the neighbors Thai food, which the host suggested and shared her menu, and it was awesome! Best trip ever, would love to go back and make more memories! It was worth the drive and the cost!

Spring Break

Somehow the amazing pictures did not do this place justice! The view was breathtaking whether it was from the deck, hot tub, kitchen, or bedroom. Loved the long drive to the the wonderful seclusion, the kitchen was great for cooking and it all felt fancy without being ostentatious.Custer State Park will forever have a piece of my heart.

Absolutely Gorgeous!

We stayed at the cabin over Thanksgiving weekend to visit relatives in the area. The cabin was absolutely perfect. After long days of being with family we came home and woke up to silence and beauty. This is the perfect spot for a mindful retreat by yourself or relaxing time with loved ones. Highly recommended!

You HAVE to experience this!

The cabin is pristine, and Lori has been so thoughtful in every nook, cranny, and corner of it. The Bose system for music, the already-prepared firewood and starters - hard to list it all but you'll feel how thoughtful she's been as you explore inside. The lack of light pollution is completely true - we actually saw the milky way on the first night, which was mind-blowing. Download a 'stars' app and spot them all while you soak in the hot tub. Pure bliss. Something that really struck me was the lack of *noise* pollution. It is dead quiet out there, which was incredibly peaceful and something I haven't experienced before. It will really impact you (in a good way) if you've never been to a location this remote. Someone mentioned the long gravel road to get there, and that it kind of makes going out a little challenging, but after you drive into town a couple of times, it really isn't bad! Plus there's cows, horses, turkeys, and expansive views to experience along the way :) Oh and you can get insanely good thai food delivered to your door. I mean what is this place?! Do yourself a favor and stay here. Find peace, and pleasure, and balance. You'll love it and you'll miss it.

Breathtaking idleness Beauty

We stayed at this breathtaking location for our 30th anniversary. It was amazing. The weather was awesome. It was like being on a beach but yet in the mountains, the weather wonderful. The serene pleasures of this cabin will want to have you stay there for weeks. The host, Lori, was wonderful to work with very responsive on any of our needs. We tried the neighbors Thai food and it was very good. We both would highly recommend this location for anyone that wants to getaway from it all and just be still and enjoy Gods beautiful creation. Wow, just wow!

You will NEVER have a view like this anywhere else! Absolutely stunning views of the canyon from the massive windows! I love to sit in the hot tub and just study the landscape. Unlike any other place you could ever stay!

Wonderful

Everything about our stay was great! Communication with the host was great! Nina's food was great! seeing all the wildlife was amazing. Experiencing 50 elk come out of the hills and the buffalo were amazing highlight. It was very warm but yet the canyon breezes made it very comfortable. This is a great place to just completely relax! I will stay here again. I cant say enough about this southern Black Hills beauty. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Quiet Beauty

A cabin with every detail…decor, beds, landscaping, well equipped kitchen, outdoor kitchen, hot tub, wonderful deck. Also, plenty of supplies (towels, toilet paper, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, containers, dishwasher soap, etc.). All those things you need to have the comforts of home and more! We loved the solitude and beauty of nature…canyon, Sky, birds, and trees!
