I absolutely loved this cottage and wished I could have stayed for longer. Jacqui is a wonderful host and is so friendly and helpful. She’s also a good cook as the “welcome in” scones are delicious. The cottage is gorgeous. It’s well kitted out and so comfortable. If I could buy it and live there I would!

Lovely cottage
Nicely renovated cottage in village location. Cottage was very comfortable we enjoyed our 3 day stay. The host was very pleasant and presented us with some delicious scones with jam and cream on arrival. There is a well stocked supermarket in the village which was handy. Location is good for visiting St. Andrew and the Palace at Falkland. We hope to book the cottage again on our next visit. There is also a nice Italian restaurant in a nearby village that might be worth a visit.

Wonderful cottage - will stay again
This is a lovely cottage that added to the quality of our short stay in Fife. It is a stunning combination of old and new with plenty of space to entertain and high quality of fixtures and fittings. Jacqueline was great at communicating and very welcoming. We would definitely recommend Carter's cottage to anyone wanting to stay in this area and it will be the first place we check when we come back in the future. Thanks Jacqueline for a wonderful stay

Cosy and warm cottage
This is a beautifully restored cottage in a beautiful village within driving distance of all the coastal fife highlights. I stayed with a friend and we loved this magical home. It was warm and cosy and we did not want to leave!! A gorgeous home away from home to relax in front of the fire in the evenings and take lovely baths. Would love to stay here again!!

Very cosy
Really enjoyed our short winter break at Carters Cottage. The cottage is beautiful and was ideal for chilling after a busy Christmas and New year. The cottage is very well equipped and a great location for exploring the East Neuk of Fife. Highly recommended.

Just perfect
My husband and I made a very short trip to Scotland, too short so we will need to come back. However, our stay in Cupar was wonderful. The flat was just perfect, warm, clean cozy, and just really really nice. The kitchen was roomy, had everything we needed, the bed was comfy and we were plenty warm. The location was perfect. We went to a little pub right down the street, cannot remember the name, but the food was great. The little shop was right down the road and it was a quick drive into Cupar town center. We just loved our visit, just wish it was longer but at least we got the opportunity to come to Scotland .. Next time, a much longer visit is a must !

Lovely place to stay
Carters Cottage is a lovely little cottage to stay in. We stayed for a week mainly to use it as a base for The Dunhill Links golf tournament and it was the perfect base for that. If you want a nice quiet place to stay with the ability to get to places like St Andrews, Dundee or bigger cities easily then this is ideal. Jackie is a great host. Communication was prompt, and the friendly welcome we received on the first night was really nice. I got the feeling nothing would have been to much trouble and that was great to know. Overall, a fantastic stay and when we are next planning a trip to Fife we'll be looking to book here again.

This was a really good choice as the property was spacious , full of character and extremely well equipped and furnished. The setting was very peaceful and and the owner lived within the same private area of grounds and could not have been more helpful.

Gorgeous town, sweet cottage, lovely host,
This was our second stay at the very comfortable Carter's Cottage. Super comfy accommodations, fabulous grounds, historic village. And host Jackie is the sweetest! We were welcomed with fresh scones, clotted cream and jam! The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of down comforters and blankets for cost nights, firewood at the ready for lazy evenings. Abundant fruit trees, blackberries, currants. We took long walks in local fields each day to counter balance the hectic rush of activities setting up our daughter up in her apartment at St. Andrews, about a 15 minute drive away.

Lovely Cottage
Lovely relaxing stay for the third time in quiet property with everything you need. Jackie was very accommodating and helpful with some last minute changes to our plans, and is always on hand. Her homemade scones with jam and clotted cream were delicious. Fantastic rental.

Scottish Village Immersion
We spent five days experiencing life in a lovely village. The people of the town were warm and friendly. We walked up and down every lane and over most fields—it was breathtaking. The cottage itself met every need.

Such a lovely cottage! It’s really well kept and has everything you could need for your stay. Relaxing and calming setting. Jackie is a great host too. Couldn’t have been more helpful. A little gem!
We loved our stay. Communication from the word go was fantastic. We received the warmest welcome ( including scones & cream). The log fire was a great bonus after a cold, wet round of golf at Crail on our first day. Plenty of room to dry out and warm up. The upstairs bedroom was a challenge for my husband but we reconfigured the furniture so that he could stand upright without hindrance!! The bathroom was roomy and well appointed. Plenty of power sources for this digital age! Washing machine was a great addition - we are on the road for 5 weeks and good to to get the washing done. We had some lovely sunshine and we’re able to take advantage of the garden for a lovely lunch with friends. We used this as a jumping off point for a week of golf and it was very well located. The community run cafe was a great asset - the Full Scottish bring a goodie before a round of golf. Coffee ( we’re coffee snobs) was really good and we had 2 cups every morning!! Tesco in Cupar or M&S Foodhall in St Andrew’s were both great for all our food needs! We’d love to return …….

The cottage is everything we expected and the hostess is lovely bringing us warm freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream up arrival to welcome us. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bedding and beds were heaven after long days of exploring. It is located 10 minutes from St. Andrews and is in a quiet village location. Great base to explore the area. A nice fire at the end of a long day was a bonus. Would highly recommend and thanks for a lovely stay.

Beautiful & Peaceful
Carter’s Cottage has to be one of the most well appointed quaint holiday homes we have stayed in. It was clean and beautifully decorated. Jackie has done such a suburb job in rebuilding this beautiful cottage. Jackie met us and gave us such a beautiful warm welcome when arriving and nothing was too much bother. The next day she came over with some beautiful homemade scones, jam and clotted cream which was such a lovely gesture which was devoured with gusto. This is a beautiful cottage and town to have a lovely holiday. Jackie is an amazing hostess.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. It is a beautiful cottage in a great location, very well positioned to explore Fife. Our children enjoyed playing in the garden and the pool table was a bonus! Jackie couldn’t have been a better host making us all feel extremely welcome, recommending a lovely local circular walk and even giving the girls chocolate treats for Easter. We’d love to return- thanks for a lovely holiday.

Lovely short break
Carters cottage has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard and is furnished with high quality furniture and very comfortable beds dressed in quality bed linen. This was a last minute break for us and we could hardly have chosen better! The kitchen is well equipped and we had no trouble using the appliances and eating in some evenings. We did have a little trouble with the log burner which we just couldn’t seem to keep going but we have never used one before so was probably down to us! Jackie the owner was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Just a lovely place to stay in a very pretty quiet village with easy access to all the East Neuk has to offer.

Chose this place for my annual Scottish retreat - a chance for me to unwind, take solitary country walks and reconnect with myself. Carter's cottage was perfect in all respects - nicely appointed and furnished with a great fire, large comfy bed and quiet environment. Jackie presented me with some delicious homemade scones and cream and jam and was very easy to deal with and talk to, but respectful of my space. I highly recommend for solo travellers, couples or friends as there is plenty of space too - I didn't use the extra bedroom and shower room.

Wonderful week
I booked this cottage for my parents and they had a wonderful time. Jacqueline was a fantastic host providing homemade scones and fresh produce from the garden. The cottage was lovely and in central location allowing them to explore lots of areas in Fife. They can’t wait to go back.
