The front deck looks over lake Glenville complete with hammock & a great grill. The back view of a meadow & mountains/ rolling hills reminded us of pictures of the Tuscan countryside. There are beautiful potted plants around both porches that add an extra touch of pretty.
The side yard was also beautiful & our dog loved getting to play Frisbee there, along with gorgeous walks down to the lake (for those that have mobility issues, it's fairly steep).
The home was very clean, had everything we needed, & was tastefully decorated with beautiful art, carefully chosen items & a cozy vibe. Warm & welcoming, nothing was missed. The layout is fantastic for a family or 2 couples (which was us). The master is beautiful & features a large jetted soaking tub- lovely after horseback riding down the road. One car in our party had a little trouble with the driveway but mine did OK. You have to expect some different roads & driveways in these areas, esp to yield these kinds of views. Cell service was petty much zero but the internet worked great so we could still get work done.
It was very quiet & peaceful, which was exactly what we'd hoped for.
About a 15 minute drive into Cashiers & maybe 25-30 to Highlands, which we visited for lunch & supplies one day. Overall a perfect choice for my boyfriend's birthday weekend. The host, Pat, was absolutely wonderful. Very responsive & helpful, a joy to work with & reflects the welcoming feeling of the cabin.
