Exactly as described in the listing. The way a cabin should be. Comfortable, yet with a frontier-rustic charm. Felt like staying in a cabin two hundred years ago. Right on the creek, as described. Great for dogs and people wanting a quiet location surrounded by nature. There wasn't a soul there when I visited. Can hear traffic on the road above, but the creek drowns it out. The big positives? Location-location-location. Away from humans. but close enough to drive to Happs for dinner, or Cashiers. Cashiers is about 20 minutes, while upscale Highlands is a bit further, 30-40 min. The creek was perfection. Place was clean and serene. I didn't see any bugs like other reviews mentioned, but folks, it's a mountain cabin, not a hotel--be realistic. The only negative is the place needs new mattresses as someone else said. Mattresses are worn out-you'll sink to the bottom of the bed. Don't plan on fast internet or cell service, folks. But that was fine by me. if you're a gamer or have kids that need to stream videos to stay busy, maybe not the best location with HughesNet. I have the same internet here in KY and it's a bit slow or non-existent in storms.
This place was exactly what I needed to get away with my old dogs. Away from people. Away from work. I truly appreciate this place and the ability to vacation with my old dog(s) and will reserve again and again. I fell in love with it. I wish it was for sale as I'd buy it today. Don't tell anyone about it so it will never change!
