Great house for a group of people

This place was great. It's gorgeous inside and out, and only 2 minutes to the beach. We went with our 2 kids, both under 4, and some friends. We had enough space for the kids to run amok, as well as for the adults to retreat from the chaos. The main thing that impressed us was how well stocked the kitchen was! No blunt knives or searching for enough tea mugs here. It was a friction-free and very comfortable stay.

Family Gathering

Once again we have had a wonderful weekend at The Pailings Culburra Beach. This is the third stay and our family loved being back! Our Mum who is 92 years can spend the day with us for Saturday and Sunday lunch then return to the nursing home after, it has easy access for her and a great relaxing area for those who are just needing a quiet place for a while ! The Kitchen is very well equipped ! And the back yard is great for kids ! Thank you Stayz

Tired holiday house that has seen too much action

This is a great sized house for a large family and is pet friendly. It is very convenient to the beach and a nice walk to local shops with a kids playground close by. Unfortunately, it appears to have seen too many guests and not enough maintenance. Lawns not mown, lights, stove, door handles, privacy locks and sliding screen doors either broken, inoperable or missing really let this place down. We received notice of the stove not working whilst on route from Sydney. The stove remained broken for our entire stay and we were cooking for ten. We can understand the difficulties of repairs during a public holiday but with so many defects found during our stay we can only assume this particular place is in need of a refurb. It is a shame because it could easily be returned to its former glory.

Beach escape

The booking and confirmation process was very simple even though we were just out of lockdown. The property was as advertised, close to beautiful culburra beach and well stocked with wet weather games . Great for a family getaway

It got better

The house, the location and the village were well defined. On arrival our house had not been cleaned for some time with wet linen left in piles, dirty toilets and dirty sheets. A call to the contact number had a cleaner there within two hours but necessitated our large group finding a dry place to eat complete with two babies, other young children and a dog. Even after cleaning, beds and cloth lounges smelt musty and a few allergies surfaced. All of that said the house is lovely and despite heavy. Rain, we had a good time. It was a very special birthday with a few hiccups. We received an apology but no mention of our extra expense and lost celebrations.

Family reunion

We had a fantastic weekend ! plenty of room for a few people to relax away from the crowd, as we are a family of 14. very well equipped in the kitchen and entertainment requirements. Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy so being outdoors wasn’t possible, there wasn’t any fire wood in in the wood storage area,we did buy our own & the wood fire warmed the house ,the house has a great atmosphere! Everyone wants to go back again Lindy

Our stay

Although it was a animal friendly house and we did not have any animals come with us, the house was not professionally cleaned at all. In fact it was so dirty I could not wait to leave. We could barely stay there as I just did not feel comfortable at all, I had to sleep on top of my beach towels, the kitchen was infested with cockroaches. I thought this would of been a home where we could relax once we got back from the beach but found myself just wanting to get out and just having it as a place to sleep and that's it. I totally understand that's it's a pet friendly home but I would of thought it would be even more clean because of that. Animal hair everywhere dog beds in wardrobes, under the beds were so dust it had balls of dust old bottle tops even. Sorry to have such a bad review but totally not what I thought.

Short break away

Our family loved this house and its design ! We enjoyed the outdoor deck in the beautiful native garden, and walks to the beach with our teenagers and the dog. The house had everything we needed. Very peaceful, thankyou !

Comfortable and well-designed house

Beautiful and well-designed, spacious house. There is plenty of room, inside and out, to sit with others during the day or find a quiet corner to read a book. We loved the roomy and well-equipped kitchen and the airy feel of the house.

Great location, lovely dog friendly property

Location is one of our favorites in Culburra. Kitchen extremely well equipped and log fire definite bonus given out stay was in winter. Overall very happy with our stay, it was comfortable, easy and well set-up.

Lots to do

Lots of room, plenty to do, nice bathrooms, great for dogs, very close to beach, only place that has supplied sheets and towels in the price that I have been too. Would have liked a tv upstairs not everyone likes the same shows or games. But that is only us. You have certainly got a great supply of extras in the pantry. Loved the place would be back.

Needed accommodation for four couples (friends). Through booking process Pailings looked to be what was required. On arrival the immediate reaction was WOW!!! Our family's annual holiday

All of the family agree The Palings is a wonderful property to enjoy for our annual holiday even in poor weather as there is a vast ray of games to play, books to read and Netflix and Stan. Everyone was happy!!! The house is a stone's throw from the surf beach and handy to shops. A great time was had by all.

Hidden gem

Unique and modern yet rustic house with steel and weathered timbers. Loads of outdoor spaces (including north facing deck), a great yard, very dog friendly, well equipped and practical throughout and only 100m to the beach. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
