Tranquility by the lake.
The pictures of the property are very accurate. It is has been decorated thoughtfully and delightfully with so many treasures and the result is a lovely sense of calm and a feeling of belonging. The living areas are very spacious and the property has every amenity you need. Wonderful views of the lake, particularly at sunset and sunrise and there are easy walks to the beach. There are shops close by if you need provisions and a few lovely restaurants in short driving distance such as the Little Snapper and the Butter Factory. Would thoroughly recommend .

Winter getaway
We loved our stay at Hemingway’s lake house. It was clean and beautifully presented and so cosy. We loved the fireplace and the view and there was so much to explore in the area. We took our dog and he had the best time. It’s a very dog friendly area.

Delightful Lakeside Cottage
Hemingway's Lakehouse at Culburra Beach is the most delightful and relaxing place to holiday. The home has everything you could possibly ask for, it's gorgeously decorated and all rooms have a fabulous relaxing "vibe". The teenagers had their own space and could chill in the bunkroom, whilst we had our own space in the living area. The location opposite the lake is fantastic - especially for bird watchers. We can't thank Chris enough for all the information provided to make our little vacation truly relaxing and memorable.

Lovely break from city hustle and bustle
The home is great for bringing your pups along, safe, closed yard. The house offered everything we needed, had a relaxing few days. The only negative is that the lake does not allow dogs so we had to jump in the car to find beaches to walk the pups.

Great getaway
We had a wonderful time escaping the city at Hemingway’s Lakehouse. Perfect location for exploring the beautiful lake. Great with the dogs as well.

Peaceful getaway
The property is fantastic and well equipped, with 2 young children it has a great balance of large enclosed year and proximity to great walks to the lake and beach - beautiful location and home. Chris and Steve are fantastic hosts and nothing is a problem when dealing with them during the stay. Relaxing short break
Had a lovely few days relaxing. Explored the nearby beaches but it was lovely to come home this house. It had everything we needed and the fireplace is lovely.

Really enjoyed a week here, the house was beautifully renovated and decorated, the hanging chair with lake view was my favourite spot. The kitchen had Everything you could possibly need. Will happily comeback thanks.

Bliss at Hemingway’s Lake House
Excellent procedure booking property - improved since previous stayz booking experience. Beautiful house and location; everything we needed for our family weekend with dogs. The house seems to have been freshly decorated, beautiful kitchen / lounge area, bathrooms, big fridge, useful kitchen and bathroom items. And good information about the area and local shops which the manager advised prior to us arriving. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

The perfect weekend getaway
We had a wonderful time at the Hemmingway Lakehouse. We were there for a wedding, but managed to pack in a lot of day activities on the South Coast. Host made great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. So much space to clean and dry gear after all our beach activities, diving, kayaking and just relaxing!

Beautiful, spacious beach house
We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful house, and I think if the weather had been a bit better we would’ve enjoyed it more, given it’s views of the lake and proximity to beaches. There were a few hiccups in terms of the dishwasher not working and no Nespresso as advertised, and the TV (internet connection) not working, but Chris tried to help as much as possible and offered us an additional night at no cost. Our only other issue was that we had no hot water on arrival and because it was an off peak system couldn’t shower until the next day. Given it’s advertised to accommodate two families a different hot water system with bigger capacity should be considered. Apart from that it was lovely.

Hi Wendy Thanks so much for the review. We're happy you enjoyed your say, despite the few hiccups. Very unusual for all those things to go wrong at once - especially the dishwasher repair person using all the hot water! But we're glad you appreciate our efforts to compensate and make your stay comfortable. I'm glad you still had access to wifi but understand it would have been frustrating that the Netflix was down. Our Nespresso is currently being serviced so we hope the stove top coffee machine met everybody's needs. Also pleased that you had the opportunity to enjoy the fireplace. Thanks again for the detailed feedback. We do plan to replace the hotwater system with a continuous gas system and Nespresso is due back from repairer next week. Kind regards and happy travels.

Beautiful lake side retreat, absolutely spotless.
My partner and I (and our 1 year old pup) had a fantastic stay at Hemingway’s Lakehouse. This house feels like a home and is well situated on the lake in Culburra. A short walk to a great dog beach and coffee shops. The hosts went to every effort to make our stay happy and seamless. We cannot recommend this place enough. Fully fenced so we didn’t have to worry about our doggo at all. The three of us left feeling very relaxed and well rested. Thanks to the hosts for an amazing weekend.

Relaxing lakehouse retreat
We had an amazing time. The house is stunning, very clean, good appliances, great decor, comfortable beds! Great location- Fantastic views of the lake, nice and quiet street, yet a short stroll to the local shops. We stayed for 3 nights, and i wish we could doubled it. Thanks to Chris and Steve for being so hospitable! We would definitely stay here again.

Spacious and convenient lakeside property perfect for 2 families
The house was perfect for our 2 families over a long weekend. We would have happily stayed a week. The beach is only minutes away and shops and cafes are within walking distance. The beds were comfy and the furniture clean and cosy. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor space to lounge around a relax in. It would be a great winter retreat as well.

Relaxing summer holiday by the lake
We had a very relaxing stay at Hemingway's Lakehouse as 3 generations + pooch. The afternoon breezes and sunsets over the lake were beautiful. The big newly fenced yard was also enjoyed by our cavoodle. The beds were very comfortable, and the morning birdsong was a lovely way to wake up! Our son loved having the bunk room all to himself. The beautiful hydrangeas, wine, & chocs waiting for us when we arrived were a lovely touch :-). The home has everything you could possibly need, even a kayak for a paddle on the lake. It's lovely to stay somewhere that has had so much thought put into it that your needs have been anticipated and taken care of before you arrive.

Beautiful accommodation in a serene environment
We came away for a relaxing break and couldn’t have chosen a more perfect spot! The accommodation at Hemingway’s is extremely comfortable. The home is welcoming, beautifully appointed and very inviting. It was lovely to open the door to fresh flowers and a very generous welcome pack of goodies. There was a supply of staples in the kitchen and every small detail had been thought of to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The view of the lake from the house is stunning Being a pet friendly house was also wonderful. We all had a great time and will definitely return and recommend to family and friends needing a getaway!

We're delighted you enjoyed Hemingway's Lakehouse so much. We're always looking for those little touches to make our guests' stay special, so it's lovely to hear you enjoyed them. It is a magical spot. The lakefront is the best kept secret in the area. I love sitting in the hanging chair with my morning coffee and watching the incredible parade of birdlife.
