No AC during wildfire season
The resort is billed as the only resort in CB with AC. AC in the mountains sounds silly but it is needed now due to rising temperatures. We specifically booked this condo because it has AC. The claim that the resort has AC would be true if the resort managers maintained the AC units. Apparently the AC was being repaired during our stay but we were not informed prior to our arrival or at check-in. Once we were in the condo we noticed all the sliding doors were opened. We tried to turn on the AC and noticed it was not working. I luckily checked the card holder we were given and found a leaflet stating “like other Colorado resorts we don’t currently offer AC. Use these box fans to cool off the room”. Box fans do not equal AC. Additionally - it’s wildfire season so the entirety of Colorado is covered with a layer of smoke- which is terrible for allergies. Keeping the windows open and pulling in smoke all night light creates serious sinus issues for any allergy sufferer- my whole family woke up coughing, sneezing and congested. I contacted the property manager who didn’t didn’t seem to understand the issue at first. When we returned home I confirmed that the resort does in fact have AC. I contacted the property manager again who got a response from the resort- “the AC is broken and due to COVID the parts have not come in. We discuss this with all customers at check in and they are given box fans so no compensation is due.” Absolutely ridiculous. There was no discussion period. Just a leaflet shoved into the card holder. BE AWARE that VRBO’s “book with confidence” does not include AC. VRBO is of no help and now the property manager has stopped communicating with me.
