We had a great time at this house! It's close to a wonderful beach, and the redwoods. Check in was easy as I was sent the key code in advance and had no problems accessing the property. The open layout was great for our little family vacation, and the house was neat and clean. We didn't use the kitchen but it has the basics for cooking if you wanted to. The backyard was nice and has a little fire pit and room for kids to run around and play. The neighborhood was nice and extremely quiet. A few things that made this not quite 5 stars is that it's advertised as having 3 queen beds but actually has only 2 queens and 1 full, and the TV is outdated and only works with the few DVDs that were there, no option for streaming or cable/satellite. But overall it's a great place for a nice relaxing beach vacation! We'd stay here again for sure.

Perfect access to Redwoods...But could do better

My likes: convenient location to Redwood entrances, nice having beach close by, spacious home, nice to have washer and dryer, it has an outdoor space. My dislikes: outdated water heater- water ran cold if someone flushed a toilet while showering, severly overgrown backyard-4 foot tall grass, very sketchy neighborhood-boarded up homes, very poor and run down part of town, tv remote broken/defective, no streaming capabilities.The photos were accurate, however there is a lot more that makes a stay enjoyable. This one just didnt hit the mark for our family.

Mold and Mildew

First the “Host”, never sent us a cod to get in. My first guest arrived at 4 pm. Check in time, no code. I used the contact you host link on Vrbo. No response. at 6 pm. we contacted Vrbo that we had no code to get in 5 minutes later the “Host” contacted me on my phone. She said that she had sent me an email so I checked the email was time stamped 5:55pm. We opened the door t9 the overwhelming smell of mold and mildew. I at first thought it was cigarette smell also, but the other women said nope that mold. The front porch light wasn’t on when we got there, none of the light were on and the heat was off. The Heat is a diesel oil tank heat system. We turned on the heat in all the rooms hoping that would help with the smell. It was so bad one of my friends went to Safeway and purchased Lysol spray and 2 candles. We discussed what to do about the smell. 2 of the women had not arrived yet and the decided to make other arrangements and not stay because of the report of the smell. As we were looking around the house we noticed all the rooms had damp rid bags in the closets. They were full to the fill line that said, “empty now”. The house to the eye was pleasant and clean the hidden mess was obviously the mold. This is an older home in an older rundown neighborhood. One of the ladies was concerned about the safety of the area and her car and chose to park her car in The garage. I have so much more to say and no more characters. To use. It was a NIGHTMARE!

Cute home away from home

This home was just what we were looking for as a home base for a few days of exploring Redwoods National Park. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools and the rooms were clean.

Home away from Home

The house felt like a home away from home! It's very clean, well stocked, and spacious. Nice quiet neighborhood is very close to everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!

Redwood Vacation

This home was in the perfect location to visit both the Redwoods and the beach! It was very clean and didn't come with complicated instructions or requests. Our family had a blast over the 4th of July and can see ourselves coming back again!

Redwood forest home base

The listing for this house was kind of vague and I was a bit worried about what amenities we would have available to us for our stay. There is a laundry room fully equipped with everything you need. The kitchen was stocked with the necessary items you need to cook also! Lots of extra towels if needed. This house was very comfortable and clean! Check in and check out we’re the simplest I’ve encountered which was really nice! We spent 4 days here exploring the redwoods and the local beaches. Would stay here again!

The house was nice and clean, and stocked with everything that we needed. It was so perfect for the extra family that came to stay. We knew that it didn’t have a washer and dryer, but it would be a great added feature for the rental. The property management was in good communication with us all the way through and check in was easy. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travelers looking for a place to stay.

Girls Trip

My sisters and I stayed here and hiked the Boy Scout Tree Trail in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. The drive to the trail head was only 15 minutes away. The house was very nice and the bedrooms were roomy with comfortable beds. The kitchen was nicely stocked - we cooked several meals while there. It would have been nice to have a few more directions as to how to leave the house (we weren't sure what to do with the trash and linens). We did enjoy our stay! The area was very quiet.

Nice place, well located

The house was very clean, but it was difficult to figure out the heating system, and the television, as there were no written instructions anywhere. Pluses were the bikes available, the proximity to the large elk herd, and the general peace and quiet of the neighborhood. A table (or dresser or suitcase holder) in the other bedrooms would be nice. Property manager was hit and miss, sometimes responded, sometimes not. Overall, we were there to see the redwoods, and the place suited us just fine.

The house fit our needs. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was great. Nice to have the spices. It is nice to be all together with the open floor plan. The back yard had no appeal, but we were there to enjoy the Redwoods and the beach.

Great stay!

Clean and comfortable stay that had all the amenities we needed. It was great to have a wash/dryer available for use! It was close to town and local activities. Could be more clear on check-in/out information and how to connect to wifi but not a big issue for us. Would recommend!
