Very friendly staff, great food and an absolutely stunning location. Only mild downside for me was I found the bed not very comfortable (soft mattress on a spring base bunk), but the kids absolutely loved it!

A great family option in a beautiful bush setting only 10 minutes from the ski tube. The restaurant was super convenient and reasonably priced for dinner. Breakfast is included and was great too. Very friendly and helpful staff, highly recommended.

The uniqueness of the setting and overall ambience of the Chalets made it a great three day stay for my wife and I. Do not go there for the 5 star service but for the bushland setting and friendly and casual service.

Beautiful 2km walk on property, but they need to refresh the 'pink' ties on the walk (they're white now) and put them closer together, especially at the furthest point of the circuit. I got briefly (but scarily) lost late in the afternoon.

Beautiful setting in the bush. Room tidy and clean. Desperately needs a lot of Outside maintenance . Was looking forward to seeing the gardens, there was only weeds. Due to the manager being called away for family matters we were there all by ourselves.

A great place to chill in a very easy environment. Arnie and Rocky provide a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was great and dinner was even better. If you want a 5 star pampered place to stay this is not for you. If you want somewhere that’s affordable and just like home then this is your place. I’d happily go back. Great value for money.

Great hidden gem!
Such a wonderful hidden gem! Booked one night and wished we could've stayed longer. Gin and Brendan were amazing hosts. Habitat Chalet has such a cozy vibe, great for couples or families and not too far from the local ski resorts. We booked to have the in house home cooked dinner and weren't disappointed. Delicious, hearty food perfect for those wintry nights, the sticky date pudding was the best we've ever had! If you're looking for a real local experience don't look past the Habitat Chalet

Lovely and cosy Chalets. Nice breakfast. Really nice to relax as a family by the fire and play board games while you wait for dinner. Bring a bottle of wine. Car park a little far from chalets and if you have a 2wd and it’s wet- take care!

Very cosy, lovely staff
This is a great place to stay especially with kids. The main chalet has an open fire and a kids retreat. Plenty of board games and things to do. The staff, especially Gin, were great. She gave us lots of advice about the snowfields which were new to us. She was always pleasant and smiling. Meals are top class. The rooms were quite warm and cosy and very clean. Plenty of wildlife around. Birds, kangaroos etc. will definitely visit again. Thank you Gin and Brendon for your hospitality.

Great! I was staying by myself, so plenty of room. My cabin was essentially 2 bedrooms and a bathroom (as advertised) the communal area was large and clean and warm.

Beautiful mountains!
This was a very reasonable price to stay in stunning surroundings. We stayed in the summer and found it just beautiful. We would look to come back in the winter and play in the snow. I highly recommend this place to add to your journey or make your destination.

Good place to stay for Thredbo snowfields
We enjoyed a stay here to visit the Thredbo snowfields. The location is a little out of the way, though the positive is that you see lots of wildlife and it's peaceful. The rooms are basic, though have most things you need (bring your own hairdryer if you need). The standout is the common chalet, with its fireplaces and reading area. Luke cooked up a great hot breakfast every morning (was included in our booking) and he cooks up a lovely dinner in the evenings, though the meal is decided by Luke on the day so, check with him prior to what he plans to cook and what he plans to charge. The alternatives for dinner is to go to Thredbo or Jindabyne. which is 15min by car either way, or there is 1 restaurant in the nearby Crackenback. Overall, the stay was good and we'd like to return next time with a group of friends.

Basic Room with Nice Modern Bathroom
Located in a beautiful natural setting, with great views of the mountains, Habitat Chalet is convenient to Thredbo for skiing and biking. The hot breakfast included in the tariff is excellent, and the staff super friendly. We will be back next season!

Close to the tube which is convenient
The beds need updating in C1! They arent comfortable. The double bed had dips in it and the bunks were creaky and not very comfortable at all. The food was excellent though!

Incorrect internet advertising - misleading
Website states breakfast starts at 7am and hot breaky at 7:30. Not true. No hot breakfast if you want to be on slopes early. Dinner is advertised as $30 and then you charge $35. Never responded to my emails. No apology, even though i kindly brought this to your attention and paid the extra....

Back to Nature Experience
On arrival, we found our keys and instructions to our chalet at reception. The envelope contained a nice personal message. The room was very presentable. It was not a Hilton, but thats not what we wanted or expected. It was clean, well maintained and well stocked with everything to make our stay a wonderful one. It was wonderful to stroll around the property. At night, there were so many stars in the sky it was mesmerising. It was very quiet and peaceful. The lodge had tea, coffee and toast making facilities. There was a freezer which allowed us to freeze our packs for the esky to keep our lunch cold. There was a great lounge with TV and games, but my children didn't even want to watch TV as they were too busy enjoying the country experience.

This place looked and felt unloved and abandoned. It needs a lot of maintenance. Beautiful setting but not recommended in its current condition.

Suitable for a boys trip to the snow but regular hot water would have been appreciated after a day on the slopes! Self clean-up after breakfast and dinner was an interesting service twist as well

Chalet style rooms with a beautiful bush view
We had a cute little seperate,self contained room, comfortable except that the bunk beds are those old fashioned saggy in the middle type, not so comfortable. Beautiful large communal lounge/dinning space with a view. We made a fire in the outdoor pit so we had a bit of a camping experience. Beautiful bush location, did a walk up the quiet road to a spot with "mountain" views. Such a great spot!

Cancelled without apology
I booked a stay at Habitat Chalet several months in advance through Lastminute. A couple of weeks before the date I emailed the owners with a question. They didn't reply to my email. Two days before arrival I received an email from Expedia advising me that Habitat Chalet couldn't honour the booking. Habitat Chalet never got in touch with me and they did not attempt to contact me to apologise. I then had to spend half a day phoning around to organise alternate accommodation when most of it was already booked out.

Family Trip
A bit off the beaten track and showing its age but the rooms are clean and comfortable, the meals area open and welcoming and the staff fantastic. Would stay again.

Quiet and true feeling of the country
We didn't know the only way to get there was a dirt track, but that was fine with us. The place was very quiet compared to other areas in jindabyne and very close to Thredbo. Definitely a value alternative. Room was clean but not spacious, staff was friendly and helpful.

No one answers the phone or replies to emails The sign is confusing No one there to greet us, wandered around in the dark for 30 minutes looking for out cabin - at 7pm. Reception phone was broken No wifi, no explanation Drying room was broken Extractor fan broken When we go there room open and freezing Safety rails fell off the bunks - lucky we had the adults up there not the kids Got told like little children to come and scrape our plates Refused simple requests like can we borrow a pair of scissors Never greet you but demand you fill in a check in form

tranquil bush getaway just 10 minutes from Skitube
wonderful cosy chalet with open fireplace and comfy lounge room. Meals were delicious. A coffee machine would be a great improvement. Kid friendly. Would stay there again.

Great lodge style accommodation
Nice and close to ski either Thredbo or Perisher via ski-tube. The accommodation is very comfortable, with good communal areas with the obligatory roaring fire to warm skiers at the end of the day (bring marshmallows). Food was good. The Saturday night dinner was excellent and highly recommended. BYO wine/drinks.

We had a fantastic stay- family with 2 young kids. They did really well with the food, especially as I am so awkward- coeliac & vegetarian. We were really happy & had a great stay. From previous reviews I was worried I'd be cold, so took extra sleeping bags/ blankets- but didn't need them - there was a radiator in the room.
